my God you said major advice in very short paragraph !! well done . understandwho you are , know your self truly. Live the (now) not the future nether go back to the pass. Embrace the beautiful world which we live in, wow . well said, have you read about Islam ? check it out ! wish you all the best in your life and hope you have great after life . 🌹🌹
Thank you, I wrote down the last part of what you’ve said, so that I can tell myself this daily. I need to “embrace” life, and stop living in the what ifs of my past. Wishing you all the best on your life’s journey.
@@TheBaronQ8 WHY is slavery and sex-slavery NOT ha'aram in Islam? The following sentences do not exist in the Quran. " Every human being is born equal and free, no one can make anyone a slave, being a slave, buying and selling slaves is strictly prohibited." Prophet Mohammad had 15 wives, 22 sex slaves, and 80 slaves when he died. Allah promises to give 70 virgin teen girls to male believers and 70 virgin teen boys to female believers in paradise. What a religion ! What a God! Prophet Mohammad can marry any woman he wants, but nobody can marry his widows. If a Muslim converts to another religion. In Islam, the punishment for this is certain death. If a Muslim denies a single word of the Quran, he leaves the religion. The punishment for those who abandon religion is absolute death.

My life fell apart in my 50's and suffered from depression and anxiety. I spent the last 4 years learning about my mind , connecting to nature and myself. At 59 I have taken a stone carving course and working on other art projects to build a new life. I realised how I attached my wellbeing to things going well and needing approval. Now I am freeing myself from my beliefs and living in the present.
Amazing how similar me and you are seem to be. If I wanted to describe my situation now at age 59 I would almost match you word to word. I guess human experiences in life often are similar in the main outline. Take care friend and best wishes 😊
Love your attitude, you look amazing ❤❤I'm 59and still wondering about the next step.I live in Greece which is a blessing, but still seeking of experience of living abroad.Love your videos.
I’m 58 too and about to make my second big move. My husband died in 2021 from Covid … it sent me into a whole new place in my life - of grief and loss and I made the decision to sell and move from South Africa to Australia to family. My beautiful daughter is in London and my son in Canada and I just didn’t want to burden them too much. I came to Australia with a 10 year plan to work here and build up some retirement money. 3 years later ..I’m packed again and about to arrive in the UK 🇬🇧 my next adventure closer to friends and my children. I’m healing slowly and feel stronger now to take anything on. While living to 90 is a possibility I also know life is short. I’m determined to live a life of happiness and love. I agree with you - who knows if this is forever? But for right now it feels exciting to be living a London life with my tribe. I try not to overthink and really trust my intuition. Lovely to find you.
Was it difficult to move to England, permit wise? How long can you stay? I would love to move to England from America but I’ve always heard that it’s very difficult.
@Hope_Faith_Strength You need to RE-read that and pay better attention, my dear! 🤭😁I must admit that it wasn't very clear, and I too was confused. Durban - South Africa with dual Swiss Nationality, but I prefer my life right here in Durbs. My son comes and goes, usually spending 2 years somewhere in Europe, then 2 years back here, before another 2 years in Europe. So naturally, my choices don't include his, because he can visit from anywhere, anytime, anyway.
I'm 73 and I make sure I go for a bike ride (ebike) in nature and then enjoy a wholesome meal followed by a good nights sleep. I'm fortunate to live in a beautiful place which is perfect for biking. I live in gratitude for each day as I move towards the end of life.
i will be turning 70 in two months and I have been single for the last 13 yrs of my life. I also have learned to live in gratitude for all the blessings I have as a single lady . I am able to travel little by little as I pay off each credit card for my travel expenses. I agree that we seniors as we start to embrace our later years that we should support each other. This page is the start !
@mickymiller6130 please read book of allah before you go to Allah...and. help me to read it .....i am also late to accept this ...wana c you hapy n successful...
Loving this and reading all the comments. I was 60 last month. Having taken care of everyone else’s needs it’s now my time. I understand the fear some have with stepping out of your comfort zone, but believe me, there’s nothing nicer than planning a day out. Doing what YOU want to do, n not having to fall in with others. I’m living in Dublin and if anyone is looking to visit, I’d be more than happy to meet up for a coffee. 🙌❤️
I’m 64 was crippled by sciatica and spinal stenosis, 2 weeks ago after, 5 years I finally found a talented neurosurgeon and I will be Walking Independently out of Physical Rehab . I can’t wait to start the next chapter of my life!! 2 mos since surgery couldn’t be happier!
@@mijuajua4820 I was treated at New England Baptist Hospital in Boston. Dr Collado-Diaz is my surgeons name. Good Luck 👍. One month out from surgery and I’m doing great! Pain free practically!
Hi, my life is the opposite. Have lived in Milan, Italy, for many years with my late Italian husband. We went everywhere including his job stints around the world as an Engineer. After 28 years together including courtship of 2 years where he took me all over Italy, I am beyond grateful for everything. Now I found myself living in my Balinese villa in the capital city of Indonesia, Jakarta, my country that he actually purchased for retirement days, but I am at peace on my own today.now that he's gone for many years and I am serene not needing and wanting another man or partner whatsoever. I am enough with the beautiful memories of my late husband. Good you choose the path that makes you happy. I wish you happiness and serenity for your new life. Thank you for reading this, apology for its length. Bless!
Nice honest video. I am 64. Living in the USA but feel there is more yet to come. I took a leap…. I bought a house in rural Umbria Italy. A place where gunfire isn’t in a school but where it might result in a pheasant left in a basket at my door. A place where community and values still exist. So I will make the move, learn a new language, and retire there in two years. TH-cam channel? Why not. Live a slower life? I hope so. Why not make the last years of my life the best years of my life. Your video is inspiring. Thank you.
That’s so cool! Very big and brave move, are you American? Are you ever worried that you’ll not find your people in the new move, or are you an introvert that doesn’t mind haha? 😊
@@walsh222 I am, gulp, an American. I do quite well being by myself, yet can be quite extroverted also. I have already made some great long term friends. I can talk about anything with anyone. My most favorite job was as a waiter. Often requested for that reason. I can allow someone to have a different opinion on life and support them 100%, as long as they can do the same for me. Not too prevalent these days. I do feel optimistic, of course I view the glass as half full rather than half empty.
FABULOUS! We are 50 and almost 49 and have dedicated 26 years to kids and our parents - time for us is coming soon! In Italy, too! We hope to be north towards Lucca but I get what your sentiments and reasons are!
I'm 55. Unmarried. Things go from bad to worse every successive day since last few years on both personal and professional front. Relationships are going nowhere. Feeling extremely lonely. Doing things only needed for mere survival. Your video injected some energy into my soul. You speak so politely, words are chosen so perfectly, I just enjoy watching people like you. Thanks for your video.
54 here , my career is a joke. I will be laid off soon , single ,never set up a family . Honestly , I don’t know what to do . I rent an apartment, things are turning as bad as usually. I will need to look for another shitty job repeating the same process again and again ; working for 2 years and then getting laid off … I hope one day I will finally find a good place to leave peacefully.
Happiness comes from within. You can be happy anywhere. You don't need to move. You don't need to get out of your comfort zone. You don't need to challenge yourself. You can sit still and do nothing and be happy.
Hello beautiful ladies. I just found this channel and I related so much to this conversation. I’m 54, been a single mom for over 20 years. My situation is a bit different in that I’m still giving direct care to my son with mental challenges. I’ve lost family and friends as a result of him not being accepted. I’ve found happiness from within, knowing that I’m living my purpose and providing the best quality of life for him as well as myself. I can not travel and make enough money to provide for our necessities and comfortable yet modest life. I agree that we can be happy in the still moments but yet I need those day trips and time alone to recharge. For me , taking a drive to the gulf and spending the day on the sand is medicine. Staying home and cleaning my house and maintaining my yard also brings tremendous joy. It’s living in gratitude and answering to our own self, not our children, not society, not a man….. that brings peace
I would like to call this phase in my life “ me time”. I raised my kids by myself, putting myself to school while being a single mom, worked to build a better future for us, built a decent financial retirement. I’ve been putting off my passion which is to be in nature 24/7, garden/landscape and improve the farm that I purchased overseas. It’s getting closer and I will be there. 50 is beyond middle age, so I will live it for me. God blessing.
Hi Daphna, I would call this period a time of reinventing ourselves. Or rebranding. I am almost 57, being the family "pillar", but honestly getting tired of that. I have learned that sacrificing yourself for the others doesn't bring you happiness as the others will always ask for more, while your personal resources diminish by time. So, it was a hard thing to learn for me to bring my own needs and desires on the upper shelves. Your videos/messages are an inspiration for our generation, no matter the side of the world we are living in. Regardless of the cultural background, I think we all share the same values and aspirations. Peace, love, friendship, compassion, freedom, real culture are some of them. Our generation recognizes the good taste out there and long for it. Although we grow more and more introverted, we love socializing and a good deep chat.
Its never too late to rediscover what life is really about no matter what your age. I've lived in Italy for over 20 years now and am still on an amazing journey of discovery and adventure. You definitely need to get outside of your comfort zone, that is just the first step.....the rest will fall into place,
My goodness Daphna !!! Watching you from Dallas .I'm 52 and I'm speechless of how well you are expressing our thoughts ! I raised four kids, countless white nights, basketball ,piano, ballet, aerial arts, play dates, school plays.....with my dreams in my drawer i kept moving.I was so much into this beautiful domestic life, waving to them by the door ,that now i am so afraid to step outside.I'm so proud of you , i feel like you are teleporting me in a place of possibilities ! Thank you for that, because indeed : the best dreams are happening ,when you are awake !
I started to take classes in ballroom dance at age 40, switched to Tango argentino a few years later and I am still dancing now. At age 49 I started running, participating at fun runs 5k and 10 k. This year I ran my first half marathon and next year, when I turn 60 I intend to run my first full marathon. Have fun and enjoy yourself at any age ❤
You are beautiful, inspiring and uplifting! Just turned 70and need to shake it up after so many years of doing what was practical. Now I have my passport and ready to walk the Camino solo in September!
You comment about coming to terms with never feeling at home anywhere you go resonated strongly in me. At 57 I’ve yet to feel I belong anywhere, but I’m a home body who fears travel. I see you on the bike and on the beach and I look around my living room and think, if my roots are so shallow why don’t I fly about more often? I heard the answer - fear. Thank you for showing your confident adventure. I’m really hoping you rub off on me;)
I have the same feeling. I want to do these things, but I am afraid. Afraid of what, I am not sure, but it certainly holds me back. I would love to explore Italy or Portugal. The language is so hard and the older I get, the harder it is for me to retain anything I learn. Wishing you strength and courage.
Fear definitely steals what we want. I don't feel safe in my life. I was told to see fear as False Evidence Appearing Real. If I take a deep breath and do it, often it not bad at all. Xxx
@@suemar63 Hi Sue, you could got to Italy or Portugal for a 1-2 week vacation. Does not have to be relocation and with English you will be understood. Don't deny yourself the beauty of those two great countries. You will have such a great time 😃
Reading these comments is like therapy. Not only do I feel less lonely from the camaraderie but there are so many inspirational people being courageous late in life that I know I have it in me to follow my heart as well. I keep coming back yo reread these comments. What a great community. I’m rooting for us all:)
I’m 56 and on the verge of making a huge change in location! You’re an inspiration to us all! May ALL of your dreams come true and a smile never leave your face.
I'm 19, planning to show this video to my mother. 😊❤ it looks so peaceful and makes me feel excited to get older and not like it's a bad thing which I sometimes have... 💕 May you have a lovely life!!
I bought a small house in Spain and we are going there in a few months. Worked for 40 years and that’s enough. I just want to wander around and explore Europe.
Thanks for your inspiration. I hold myself back for fear of running out of money. I’m 59, divorced, but trapped in the mentality that I should continue to work full time. Yet I am so over living like a drone.
Not having enough money is always on my mind too. I'm financially dependent on my husband. It was a choice that I gave up my career for my children. My body lets me down and I can't find a job.
because of this I stayed with a working environment I do not like up to a point of depression returned twice. I always asked myself, am I want to escape therefore I want to move? I have the idea of leaving my place for more than 30 years. I never feel I belongs here.
I have started over many times. What that means to me is always evolving and learning what I like and who I am. The good the bad and the ugly. Looking at what I need to change and let go of and what I need to embrace. I am 58 and have made many mistakes but the key is to keep moving forward. I hope I can stay open and connected to spirit.
Daphna... I just started my 5th chapter of life 3 weeks ago (celebrated in Japan). I had been thinking to myself there isn't a lot of TH-cam content on being in your 50's and free. I was looking for a channel that I could relate to, and you popped up today! Although my life seems very different from yours (no children, no mate), I'm drawn to your message of not being defined by age. As I was approaching 50, I became keenly aware that money is renewable, but time isn't. I hope to continue down this delicious road of self-discovery and adventure. I've enjoyed your content please keep up the good work!
I like your suggestions to not be so black and white. Stay overnight in the next town one night, or that moving doesn’t have to be forever, and so on. It reminds me of the question, what do I need right now? Sometimes it’s just a walk in a new park, seeing a new neighborhood, or eating something different. Baby steps taken one at a time are still steps in a new, different direction. Thanks for the insight.
I agree, the black and white thing is making it scary. It’s very refreshing to stop thinking about: do I want this for the rest of my life? It’s easier to ask: do I want this for a certain period of time, like two or three years? I’d like to live in another country after retirement. I will start with short periods, to test the waters.
I’m 43 and have been feeling down because I see people much younger than me living a full life. I have fought feelings that I am out of time. I see now that I was thinking from the old paradigm. Your video was helpful and inspiring. Also, you are very lovely and beautiful.
Jessica, you have most likely 40 odd years or more ahead of you. Go for it.! I have no doubt 'you are very lovely & beautiful' yourself. Believe, and don't waste any more time. I know... I'm a procrastinator and 58! That's 15 more years than you!
Woman in her 50s starting from scratch? You're my kind of gal. Subscribed right away. There definitely aren't too many women our age on TH-cam so you are definitely filling a void. ❤
So hey Daphna - this was awesome! Please excuse me while I just gush haha: 1. You’re creating really high quality videos - beautiful scenery, really good editing, paced well, captivating, etc. 🎥 🍿 2. Wow! you’re a really good human! Kind, caring, realistic, practical, brave, balanced, proactive, intelligent, talented , okay I better stop I’m lapsing into fawning haha 3. You’re handling your channel in a way I really like. Interacting with subscribers, giving good ideas and advice, but creating space for people to personalize their own life adventure and make changes that suit them and their dreams. It’s like you’re presenting the inspiration of a confident woman, but your natural humility and honest discussion of your challenges makes what you’re achieving feel very doable to your audience. You’re awesome and you’re doing a wonderful unique thing with your channel. Plus it’s visually wonderful and really making me want to go to southern Italy. I’ve been to many places north of Naples - the usual tourist places, but have yet to explore south or Sicily, etc.
I have been a recluse (with first my beautiful Charlie dog, who was 12 and I had to have put to sleep 4 years ago, and then my rescue greyhound Madge) for the past 7 years, due to sever anxiety brought on by a lot of sad things happening in a short space of time. I do live each day as it comes, and am so thankful for what I have. I do feel lonely sometimes, but I would rather be alone with Madge, than with someone who caused me grief! The only time I go out of my rural home, is to walk Madge, or take the rubbish to the end of our lane. I had to sell the car about 2 years ago now, as my anxiety stopped me being able to go further than 10 mins without having to stop, and be sick - so I gave it up. I have to get everything delivered to me, which is fine. I am 67 years young, but wish that I could get rid of the awful fear of leaving my home. I would love to be able to afford a car again, and be able to drive, as I loved driving in the past. I am trying to make things better, but I do not know how. Thank you for your lovely video, and Blessings from Jilly & Madge, from West Devon, England. xxx
Love your video! I’m 67 and I started out on my journey by moving away to a new city when I was 50 - after nearly 20 years bringing up 3 daughters as a solo parent. I met my wonderful partner when I was 54. We have adventured together since then although his health is now failing. Don’t know where the journey will take me next but we just take it one day at a time. I’m lucky that both of my parents are still alive - 94 and 95 - and they were fantastic role models. Until their late 80s they were travelling the world. I know how unusual they are - they taught each of their 7 children, and now their grandchildren, how to adapt and change. You are an inspiration
You are so right. I admire your journey. It is never too late. I graduated from university at 63 with a dual degree in education and computers. I’m now 81. I did a lot of solo travel in India and Nepal in my 50s.
Thank you for sharing. I moved to the UK at age 61. I can totally relate to the feeling of not belonging anywhere. But I am grateful for the opportunity to start over and to travel and experience life . It is difficult leaving loved ones behind, but I see it as " our turn now " 😊
Love your inspiring channel and beautiful videos, Daphna! Also like all your elegant outfits. :) I’m 51 and in the middle of a painfully long divorce battle. I watch your videos to look beyond my current struggle and remind myself there is life and light at the end of the tunnel. As soon as my divorce is over I’ll move out of the US and explore the world. Thank you for being such an inspiration! ❤
Kiki and I call this time of our life “Free Bird” time. Our girls are happily married, some will say, so you are empty nesters, we say we call our selves freebirds!!! Empty nesters sound sad, freebirds fly free!!! We are living our best life now.
What a beautiful way to restart a new life a “Renaissance” of a new Generation of humans who are looking to grow out to their full potential, despite age. Thank you for starting this new revolution!
I am 64 also and relocated back to my birth home in Italy Rome …. May I suggest you also consider Sardinia , Sicily and middle Italy. Northern Italy is full of factories and pollution
You are just amazing. This is exactly how I imagine absolute joy in life🌺 I am a multi-artist and love creativity in all areas of my life. After 10 years, I returned to my native country (I will be 54 years old) and decided to start living a life that completely fulfills me and brings me joy every day🌺. Sending lots of love and light your way.💖🙌
Very inspiring video, I think many people believe they cannot travel or experience reinventing themselves because they must follow all these "rules" to be an adult TH-cam has been a real inspiration in finding this content to give themselves permission to change if they are not happy!
"I stopped asking myself questions that make me freeze". Brilliant! I sadly have a habit of repeating that psychological suicide mission! Also, Love your concept of letting things flow once you're there. My mind always wants me to chisel the future in stone before I move forward! And yet, we CANNOT know how it will be until we actually "experience" it. It's not an armchair call! Thx, Daphne! You're helping me realize the black box our minds can exist in.
Your videos are lovely! I’m 48 and starting my second TH-cam channel. Now I have more inspiration about just being myself and sharing my life and how I have navigated big changes in the last 8 years to inspire others to have courage and embrace change.
How about referring to this time of our lives as the "Youth of Our Retirement?" 😊 I am (almost) 58 and I hope to live in different places for the rest of my life. I don't want to be stuck in any one place. I see the rest of my life as one long, slow vacation.
Same ❤ I am only 37 but looking at how I can plan my life and savings so I can live that kind of life when I get older. I am single and not looking for a relationship (was in one for 10 years until my partner passed away), I just want to have a simple, peaceful life living in different places, making friends and memories 🥰
Being with someone you love is amazing. My husband passed 17 years ago (I’m 59 😊) I’ve tried to find what I’ve lost but two 7years long relationships later ( really good ones) I’m where you are now. You are 37 that’s too young to be alone, but I have to tell you that something happens when you turn 50. You start loving yourself completely. You don’t want to put up with someone judging you. It’s amazing 😊 There is so much to look forward to. All the love 💕
@@maggieochman1386 I am so sorry to hear that, I absolutely know what you mean with your husband passing away and I am sending lots of hugs x You are totally right in that it’s difficult to find another relationship like that again. Thank you so much for sharing this wisdom, this is exactly what I need so I can steer my life in the right direction regardless of being with someone or not 😊❤️
I love your approach and take on life in your 50's. As a women, we seem to have focused on "others" our whole life to make us happy and for me, it did. But now we DO have to reinvest our next chapter and it's OK not to always know what that looks like. Step by step. Thanks for sharing your journey, it's given me some hope I'm on an OK track.
Hi...Thanks for posting loads of positivity. Gone through physiological, psycho somatic issues etc but have still managed to not give up n having seen ur channel and having read so many experiences of numerous people on comments is only giving me more courage .
Thank you for sharing your journey! My kids have flown the nest, I sold everything (gave away everything!), bought a van, and am travelling the USA for the past 2 years now:). I too have no idea where I want to land. I get to visit with my kids in their surroundings, and we get ABNBs for mini getaways together. So far, so good, for now… Life is a blooming flower until it isn’t❤
I'm very happy to have discovered you. You speak like you know my thoughts thoroughly! I too, am working towards the digital nomadic (and artistic) life in my 50's. What do I call spirit...JOY❤
Dear Daphna, I stumbled upon your video by chance and watched it with great enthusiasm and curiosity because your statements resonate deeply with my own experiences and thoughts. The sentence about „us being the first generation…. „ really struck a chord with me. I admire your courage to start something entirely new, and I can totally relate to it. The way you share your stories and experiences is incredibly inspiring and makes me want to hear more from you. That’s why I immediately subscribed to your channel. Thank you so much for the wonderful video! Many greetings from Munich, Germany☀️🎵🌻
I'm 67 and sometimes I think I'm too old, but my mother lived until 101. That's a lot more years to live if I make it that old. I like the term Renaissance. I'd like to travel alone but I'm scared!! I love the idea of staying nearby to get started. Thanks for sharing!
find a singles traveling group or do a singles bus tour in an area you would like to see. Then you're in a group and traveling in numbers, but free to travel. There are camping groups too.
Thank you for your video and to the comments from all your lovely viewers. I made a move a couple of years ago as a new widow looking to sustain herself at 55. Although I have achieved that goal, your emotional description resonates with me. Your comments about never being at home, in particular, hit to the heart of it. I wish I had visited several times as you did but will my next move.
I'm 46 but looking at what's ahead... thank you for sharing and we can certainly redefine this stage in life. As we are all more boldly aware of the existing system of work until you die, we have to do things differently and make our own health and wealth a priority earlier in life. Retire early and enjoy life more! Yes!!!
You are an inspiration. My partner is Italian but has lived in the USA for 30 years. Recently he purchased a small place in Italy. I am still working full time remote in the states (58) and scared to make a commitment long term in another country. Your video has so many great “dip your toes in the water “ ideas 😊
I am SO with you Daphna! I just want to have fun! My husband still wants to parent our two twenty-something children. I say leave the to figure it out like we did. I would LOVE to travel again but am biding my time, dragging him to fancy dinners all dressed up, overnight stays, outings with fun friends until he is ready. He is from NY and I am from NJ, but we met in Spain and travelled so much together before and with kids. We are both healthy and strong and I am like you say, all fired up to live my dreams! I have also joined four classes, two poetry writing, one called Great Conversations and another which is a different topic each month and read my poetry at open mics. I dislike public speaking but really wanted to challenge myself. I feel so much more confident, comfortable, and happy with myself in this new phase of life. I feel empowered and could care less what others think. I feel free! Sometimes, like you, I yearn to move to a new place, and have a whole new life, even though I do live in a beautiful place now. I am 58.
Just found you on TH-cam, and so glad I did. You see, several things resonated with me . I had a very challenging time raising my daughters alone without the presence of their father. I was miserable with my situation but was on survival mode for years up until they married and I felt the empty nest syndrome with a vengeance. However, I kicked myself in the behind and began organizing trips abroad with my students. I also threw myself in my art and had two solo exhibitions. I have learned not to react to situations but be proactive. The day I stopped feeling sorry for myself was the day I started blooming. Today I am living my best life devoting myself to my grandchildren , to my art and travels abroad. Btway today is my bday 75 ! 🎉
What a heartwarming video! I am 61 and reasonably fit and could so relate to you. Do share your journey in Italy. It's a beautiful country and we loved it. ❤️
Another beautiful and inspirational video ❤️ I love how authentic and genuine you are. So many wonderful thoughts running through my head after watching a number of your videos today. My wife and I sold our house after our kids graduated from college and bought a 43ft sailboat. We have had lots of ups and downs. Stress and happiness. We love our new life. We cant wait to visit other countries. Thank you for this video.
Such a beautiful and thoughtful video! I, too, am 58 (for a few more days lol) and have loved my 50's! I've viewed them as my "Second Act," a season of loving who I am, of challenging myself to go beyond my comfort zone, of rediscovering myself and what I love. I've gained a level of confidence and contentedness that I've never known and have been blessed to share this time with the most amazing man who celebrates and encourages me constantly. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experiences, looking forward to more content from you!
I like the step-by-step testing out the waters approach. It really gives you time to feel into yourself and build a connection with that place before you make that big decision.
Gosh, I'm so glad I found your channel. You say exactly what I needed to hear. I am 46 and have been feeling like I am too old to start the business Ii have been dreaming of. When I see you, such a stunning, vibrant woman, I am so inspired to keep going. Thank you!
Nice channel to think/ponder things in life what makes one truly happy is it from something material outside or is it always within us but creates an illusion that things outside get us happiness
I am an immigrant into NZ 21 years ago and now desperately want to go back to settle in Europe again where my heart is. My kids and grand daughter are in NZ as is my dog. It is so hard to feel such a strong pull back and feel so trapped on the other side of the world! I have felt this feeling for the last 3 years and I know I am one of many! .Lack of money is one of the major issues for many women of our age when it comes to making theses kind of decisions.
Oh, I feel this, too! I moved away from my family for a husband- not even a good one! I was so dumb!!- and now I long to move back near my mom and sister, but two sons are here. I’m looking for a way to live part time in each place. I have a friend who lives here in the U.S., but she’s from Denmark and goes back there every summer for six weeks. My friend from Spain does the same. Lots of people do it! Let’s try! I will pray for you, and please pray for me if you are a praying person. I think we can do it!
I actually have extended family in three different countries ( Mexico, UK & Italy) and I must say, I thoroughly enjoy visiting them every year ! I don’t get tempted to live in their location because I absolutely love where I live in the USA (Nashville TN) .
Certainly something to celebrate, I am finding life very exciting as I make my dreams come true as I am in my 80th year. Happiness is indeed my number 1 priority. It works!! I am English living in Spain. Thank you for your authenticity in the work you do, I’m sure it’s a great help to many.
@@Daphna. Sure! 🌞 I am currently going through some big changes in my life. A year ago I started therapy and learnt that I was dealing with a narcissistic mother my whole childhood who totally messed my self image. I am only now learning to be myself and what it means. I am learning what I like, not because my mother would like that for me, but I really want it for myself. So I absolutely understand how you feel when you are starting over even though it is for a different reason. If that makes sense. 😊✨ Also I am happy to know that it is never too late to do you and be you. So your videos are giving me hope and I feel like I do not have to rush anywhere, just take my time and trust the process. I am on the right path. ❤❤
I’m turning 47 in less than 2 weeks. There’s so many things I want to do, try & places I want to go. My husband doesn’t want to have anything to do with any of it. I’ve felt myself become so depressed & that I’m getting too old to go & do. Another thing that holds me back is my 5 year old that is a little developmentally delayed. My oldest daughter who is 25, loves to do the same things I do and shares the same dreams of going to the places I want to go. We’ve started taking longer trips to the coast of SC every year (we live in the upstate). My oldest daughter & I r hoping by next summer that my 5 year old will be more mature & I can bring her with us, so I can start living a more adventurous, exciting & happier lifestyle. Watching you has given me so much encouragement already, even though I just found your channel. I am Italian and I’m dying to go to Italy. Grazie mille ☺️
Great video! I turned 60 this year and am starting over also, like many others in the comment section. I'm trying my hardest to figure out how to retire by the end of the year to start traveling. Thank you for your honesty and for posting.
You may never find a place that makes you feel at home like when you were a child. But if you find the right loved one,, that person can make you feel at home anytime and anywhere..
I resonate to your thoughts. My husband and I are in the process of empty nesting. I’m looking forward to a fresh new start, new things, experiences and places to discover. I’m 57 and feeling like in my 30s😍Happy to find your channel!
Daphna, You are around my son's age. he is 53. My daughter-in-law is 4 years younger than him. I plan to be a great grandmother.. I always thought every age was amazing. I enjoy my life more after my son was married 20 years ago. Traveling alone is the best for me. Always meet people. I did start traveling from 21. Nothing is forever.
You look like an actress in a beautiful romantic movie! But I am even MORE excited because this is Your REAL everyday life that You created for Yourself ❤ BRAVO!
Just now I was talking to my colleague that I love to work after getting retired so I prefer to live near a college or a school..and then just after 20 minutes later I came across your video as if you have heard me..I am 38...will be retired at 58...such an inspirational video ❤❤
oh love the live in the now and don’t worry about the future, thanks so so so much❤️ thank you for sharing

Lovely to find you.
thanks for sharing your story and your thoughts with me and the whole community here, your words are so meaningful ❤️
Was it difficult to move to England, permit wise? How long can you stay? I would love to move to England from America but I’ve always heard that it’s very difficult.
You are admirable! Bless you for living your life. So awesome!
@Hope_Faith_Strength You need to RE-read that and pay better attention, my dear! 🤭😁I must admit that it wasn't very clear, and I too was confused.

God bless you.

Thank you.
How wonderful do let us know if you’d consider renting out a room for short periods for us travelling 🧳 nomads
That’s so cool! Very big and brave move, are you American? Are you ever worried that you’ll not find your people in the new move, or are you an introvert that doesn’t mind haha? 😊
You deserve it ❤
@@walsh222 I am, gulp, an American.

Happiness comes from within. You can be happy anywhere. You don't need to move. You don't need to get out of your comfort zone. You don't need to challenge yourself. You can sit still and do nothing and be happy.

@@cristelelizabethjohn1661 I think your comment misses the point. If you are in search of 'more', you'll never get there.
It helps to have loads of money to live like this.
@@Marypoppins321You're doing important work caring for your child.
I started over almost 60 and I have not regretted for one second.❤

I would like to call this phase in my life “ me time”. I raised my kids by myself, putting myself to school while being a single mom, worked to build a better future for us, built a decent financial retirement. I’ve been putting off my passion which is to be in nature 24/7, garden/landscape and improve the farm that I purchased overseas. It’s getting closer and I will be there. 50 is beyond middle age, so I will live it for me. God blessing.
❤️❤️❤️
You are great sunshine, simply fabulous.

Me, too.
I've enjoyed your content please keep up the good work!
absolutely love this comment, thanks so much ❤️
I like your suggestions to not be so black and white. Thanks for the insight.
oh love the ideas, thanks so so so much❤️
I agree, the black and white thing is making it scary. It’s very refreshing to stop thinking about: do I want this for the rest of my life? It’s easier to ask: do I want this for a certain period of time, like two or three years?
I’d like to live in another country after retirement. I will start with short periods, to test the waters.
Totally!!

Big hug❤️❤️❤️
Kiki and I call this time of our life “Free Bird” time. Our girls are happily married, some will say, so you are empty nesters, we say we call our selves freebirds!!! Empty nesters sound sad, freebirds fly free!!! We are living our best life now.
Love this !!!!!❤
Freebirds Words used Wisely , it makes difference . really nice 👌🏻

What a beautiful way to restart a new life a “Renaissance” of a new Generation of humans who are looking to grow out to their full potential, despite age. Thank you for starting this new revolution!
Hi from South Africa🇿🇦 what a great message, I am 56, ride my horse everyday, walk my dogs and am busy renovating my house😊🎉
“Asking questions that don’t make me freeze”- that low key blew my mind. ❤️🙏🏼
❤️❤️❤️
I'm 64 and want to get out of the US asap. Northern Italy or SW France are my top choices.
Sending lots of love and light your way.💖🙌
Thank you for sharing and for being here ❤️
i’m half your age and have been dealing with age pressure recently, so thank you for doing this ❤
I moved to Tenerife in my 50’s - started afresh … never looked back 🧡
Very inspiring video, I think many people believe they cannot travel or experience reinventing themselves because they must follow all these "rules" to be an adult TH-cam has been a real inspiration in finding this content to give themselves permission to change if they are not happy!
It’s during these times that you find strength in your faith ❤️
@@Daphna. So true!
Wow!!❤ just what i needed.
Your videos are lovely! I’m 48 and starting my second TH-cam channel. Now I have more inspiration about just being myself and sharing my life and how I have navigated big changes in the last 8 years to inspire others to have courage and embrace change.
Yayyy, I l ove it ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
How about referring to this time of our lives as the "Youth of Our Retirement?" 😊 I am (almost) 58 and I hope to live in different places for the rest of my life.
It’s amazing 😊
There is so much to look forward to. All the love 💕
@@maggieochman1386 I am so sorry to hear that, I absolutely know what you mean with your husband passing away and I am sending lots of hugs x You are totally right in that it’s difficult to find another relationship like that again. Thank you so much for sharing this wisdom, this is exactly what I need so I can steer my life in the right direction regardless of being with someone or not 😊❤️
you have a wonderful soul Daphna , Remember , Life carries you - you do not carry Life !!
love it ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
I love your approach and take on life in your 50's. As a women, we seem to have focused on "others" our whole life to make us happy and for me, it did. But now we DO have to reinvest our next chapter and it's OK not to always know what that looks like. Step by step. Thanks for sharing your journey, it's given me some hope I'm on an OK track.
sending you lots of love from Portugal Xxx
Hi...Thanks for posting loads of positivity. I am 52 , residing in India and been going through lots since last 5 years where everything fell apart , professionally n health wise n still trying to navigate n see the light at the end of the tunnel .

We’re called “free birds”! 🌸
So far, so good, for now… Life is a blooming flower until it isn’t❤
yeaaaaah love the van idea❤️❤️❤️
I'm very happy to have discovered you. You speak like you know my thoughts thoroughly! I too, am working towards the digital nomadic (and artistic) life in my 50's. What do I call spirit...JOY❤
thanks for these nice words❤️
Dear Daphna, I stumbled upon your video by chance and watched it with great enthusiasm and curiosity because your statements resonate deeply with my own experiences and thoughts. The sentence about „us being the first generation…. „ really struck a chord with me.
I admire your courage to start something entirely new, and I can totally relate to it. The way you share your stories and experiences is incredibly inspiring and makes me want to hear more from you.
That’s why I immediately subscribed to your channel. Thank you so much for the wonderful video!
Many greetings from Munich, Germany☀️🎵🌻
thanks for writing that ❤️❤️❤️ thank you for your generous heart
OMG DAPHNA I'M ONLY A MINUTE INTO THIS VIDEO AND I LOVE THE CINEMATOGRAPHY IN THIS VIDEOOOOO ALREADY 🥹🥹🥹🥹 YASSS !!
thanks for writing this and for being here ❤️ ❤️
Happiness IS the most important thing? That is how I live my life. Many great pieces of advice Daphna, thank you.
I'm 67 and sometimes I think I'm too old, but my mother lived until 101. That's a lot more years to live if I make it that old. I like the term Renaissance. I'd like to travel alone but I'm scared!! I love the idea of staying nearby to get started. Thanks for sharing!
❤️❤️❤️
find a singles traveling group or do a singles bus tour in an area you would like to see.
Hugs❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for sharing your vulnerability and mistakes. That takes courage and is so helpful to others!
reading this makes me so happy, THANK YOU SOO MUCH!❤️❤️❤️
I'm 46 but looking at what's ahead... thank you for sharing and we can certainly redefine this stage in life.
Thank you for sharing and for being here ❤️
You'll never know until you try. Your partner being an Italian is a huge plus for your adapting there in Italy.
I am 58.
I'm really grateful you are here sharing your story and thank you for your kind words ❤️❤️❤️
Daphna you're so beautiful 🥹🥰
It takes one to see one ❤️
thank you so much for sharing your story ❤️YOU are inspiration
Daphna, it is very nice to see you doing so well and spreading good energy!

THANK YOU for being here and for your kind words ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
I like the step-by-step testing out the waters approach. It really gives you time to feel into yourself and build a connection with that place before you make that big decision.
Hello Lora how are you. Greetings from Ireland 🇮🇪 to Germany 🇩🇪. It is a good video. I wish you a lovely weekend 👍🙏🌹 Michael

Hugs❤️❤️❤️
Oh, I feel this, too! I moved away from my family for a husband- not even a good one! I was so dumb!!- and now I long to move back near my mom and sister, but two sons are here. I’m looking for a way to live part time in each place. I have a friend who lives here in the U.S., but she’s from Denmark and goes back there every summer for six weeks. My friend from Spain does the same. Lots of people do it! Let’s try! I will pray for you, and please pray for me if you are a praying person. I think we can do it!
@@angelasmith861 Yes definitely I will do that. Lets make it happen! Hugs x

I am 34 but this channel is exactly what I needed in my life. You are so gorgeous Daphna. Sending lots of love.
How sweet of you to say that❤️Im wondering what it is that resonates with you, if you feel comfortable to share
@@Daphna. ❤❤

Same! Also 34 and loving this! We need women of all ages to remind us how beautiful this life is - start to finish 🦋

I ❤ your videos. Thank you for showing us Gen X that we now have options too.
