Hiya Ron, what gear box do you recommend for a Bam 20v T MK1 Caddy?
Usually people use a mk3/mk4/corrado 02a or 02j. The latter more favorable shifter wise. 👍

Will you be sharing costs for the build? I'd love to know how much something like this costs.
Will be tricky as it's such a long build and the customer is supplying most parts too. I will be able to tell you how many hours I have done on it though as I write them down.
'shallow sump', Tack a plate on it whilst off. They are great at protecting from crack impacts, but is easy to wear a whole in them at speed, im on the 3rd all scraped just in front of sump plug
We are on Airride so will spend most of its diving at full height, it's just a little more reassurance 👍 thanks for watching 😁
@@SuperRon I'm on air too, and tend to drive at a 'sensible' height, but the 1.8t just sits so much lower
Hello Ron, from what car is the shifter you used in the video?
I think it was from a mk3 golf, can't remember as it came with the first gearbox.
Do you have to add any inline brake restrictors or a brake compensator valve when going from drums to discs on the back? Iv been putting off converting my scirocco 1.8t as i dont know if i do convert it to discs under hard braking it may try to switch ends on me!

Yes, you can get factory inline ones off something like a scirocco 16v, or you can get universal adjustable ones, but they require replumbing to a 1 pipe setup
Ah cool, do you mean 1 pipe from the master cylinder to the inline restrictor then to a split for each side or?

Love it. Wish i took this methodical approach when building my mk1 caddy sport g60 such a inspiration to go back and address a few things that are bugging me to death. Also have you resolved the battery issue yet and where your locating it too. Really want to put mine under the bed where the fuel tank used to be but would really want your expertise on how you would do it and mount it and does it need to be in a sealed box,where to run cables and how
Putting years of experience to good use here 😁 the battery doesn't have to be sealed away if going outside the cab. I'll be sure to cover it where ever we do put ours

I do not get it everything should be as it was from the factory Then why his cheap air filter and not a factory air filter box
In this situation there is no room for an airbox, the red filter won't be used on final fit, it will have a stealthy black filter
