    Mine finally came, almost 3 months after I ordered it. Awesome quality and ease of set-up, but I'm still figuring out whether the width is a big limiter. Even in your demo, it's apparent that if you gesture too broadly, your hands or elbows will extend out past the green screen at times, and disappear. So far it seems to me I'll need to keep the screen very close behind me, and/or stand or sit very still, to stay within the green screen's range. Normally it's considered best to have the green screen several feet behind you, but with this one, it would photograph too small if it's not really close to you. On the other hand, because it is perfectly smooth, there's not so much need to fuss about perfect lighting. Something to consider, although I still think the design is amazing.

    • @atingleee
      @atingleee 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Main reason I didn't get it :( Need more width for sure

    • @danmagoo
      @danmagoo 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am somewhat getting used to confining my arms to keep in range of the screen behind me, but the screen still has to be kept close behind, and one downside of that is that the lighting makes a definite shadow. That wouldn't be an issue if the screen were bigger, and could be backed up farther. Fortunately my software copes with the added color range of the shadowed and unshadowed areas pretty well -- but, yes, this screen could use more width for sure. It really is built like a tank, in a good way.

    • @atingleee
      @atingleee 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for sharing your experience :) I do some dancing on my streams and need the extra width. Perhaps a suggestion? If the steel frame is well built, perhaps you can stand the base up against a wall and pull the green screen across behind you? I believe securing well and with the right elevation it will give you a much larger area! I've been considering doing this but not sure how it will do in terms of sagging over time etc.

    An awesome video + review Adam! I've been interested in this product ever since the initial announcement I vow that I will own one of these by the end of the year Lol 😁. If and when funding and time permits I wouldn't mind hearing your thoughts on the Webaround chroma key/green screen specifically the 56" 'fan favourite'. It's touted as being a very budget friendly option for beginner content creators & streamers and from the reviews that I've watched here on TH-cam, it seems like a safe solid option.

    If not being used for streaming a game, would you say it’s wide enough for a vlog? Meaning that I’d need to use more of the width and not a square crop. Maybe with a 20mm lens

Just a little question we have with a friend of mine : does you use the green-screen to fake your room with a photo, at 1min14sec on this video ? My friend is pretty sure it's a green-screen montage with your room on a picture, added, and i'm sure it's just your fullscreen cam :D ? We would love to know the answer ! Thanks ;)

    I never even though about needing a new camera source... I have a Logitech C922, is that good enough for capturing the green screen nicely? I'm worried I just wasted my money on the green screen now (its on the way still), blew my budget just buying the green screen and lighting

    How did you achieve the 'inked outline' look seen at 2:36 ? My guess is you cloned and upscaled the video and put it as a layer behind you, with filters to turn it black?

  • @eatcawk

    Have you had any issues with the screen needing to be too close behind you in order for proper keying? I’m thinking of getting two of them and having them side by side and a bit further behind me so I can do full body stuff as well

    • @ItsMorpHahnTime
      @ItsMorpHahnTime ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you have proper lighting?
      If not, Walmart sells a 2 pack LED light (w/stands) for like $40. It’s usb powered, so if you got a dual USB wall plug it’ll work perfectly with it
      The lights also work perfectly with my DIY green screen (collapsible clothes rack with a lime green blackout curtain clipped to it), but got Elgato’s on the way since it’s wider than that one & won’t have to deal with wrinkles messing up the chroma keying process

    I really appreciate your content, , and your enthusiastic energy. Really great work! I also want to ask a question, and make a suggestion ... and I don't want you to feel insulted:
    Why do you say "aye" for "a" ...and (sometimes) "thee" for "the"...? I imagine someone taught you the wrong pronunciation for these words. There are very limited circumstances in which that would be correct...but most of the time it's not. It doesn't sound formal, sophisticated, or educated. Please, speak with someone you trust about this, and reconsider how you pronounce these two articles.

    • @EposVox
      @EposVox  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Certainly not insulted, just baffled how you think this is correct or something you should approach a stranger on the internet about.
      "Aye" is pronounced like the letter "I" and definitely not how I say "a". I alternate between "ayy" and "uh" based on context and casual-ness.
      "the" can be pronounced "thuh" or "thee" - but I've always heard it as "thee" more commonly.
      I was raised by an English professor, and this is how I hear them said most of the time. This is how they should be pronounced, 9 times out of 10.
      "thee" and "ayy" being how dictionary.com lists the pronunciation, as well.
      I assure you, I'm saying things correctly. o_O
      Thanks for the weirdest comment of the week, I guess!

    So you have a top quality green screen, that gives you very good capture quality.
    Did you know that the other weak link is the camera it self. You need a camera that has the capability to capture more of the green spectrum.
    And a camera that is capable doing that are the 10bits ones.
    So i challenge you to make another green screen video, but then with the cheapest 10bit camera/webcam you can find :D
    And demo the quality between them !

    • @EposVox
      @EposVox  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      No webcam records in 10-bit, and 10-bit recording cameras cost thousands of dollars.... so... no. Closest I can get is taking my G7 into my Atomos Ninja inferno recording 4:2:2 8-bit into a 10-bit file for more efficient bandwidth and keying that. But... after all of that the end result would be hardly noticeably different from what I showed here.

    Just a suggestion for getting the height you want out of the green screen. take 2 milk crates and place them upside down where the support legs on the case are located and place it on top of the two milk crates to raise it up and you can put some weighted items under them so it doesn't move around. If you have access to a home depot/lowes and basic power tools, get roughly 8-12 nut and bolt sets 6" long and 1/4" diameter, along with a drill bit of the same diameter. You could probably fit 1x4 planks under the case itself and if you do not have a saw of any kind, you can ask an employee to cut it to the lengths for you to insert planks into the milk crates as well as outside the milk crate running along the inner and outer sides of the support legs. Where the wood inside the milk crate and the would outside the milk crate cross one another from a top-down perspective is where you drill. Then keep them secure with the nuts and bolts(make sure the bolts are fully threaded, you want to be able to make these snug up to the wood, but not so tight you crack the wood. Also have the top of the bolt on the outside of the milk crates so the extra threading behind the nut wont scratch the green screen case or you... If it seems like it might be to unsteady you can do the same process to connect the two milk crates together with 2x4s on the outside at the length the milk crates and the distance between them. As well as 1x4s on the inside to bind them. Make sure to get longer bolts of the same diameter since the 2x4s are thicker. This will allow the green screen to essentially gain the height of milk crate platform shoes. I apologize for the long winded comment, it kind of just kept going and then I felt ownership to finish what I started with pride!
    This aside I enjoyed your video and I appreciate how you provide a suspense in the beginning that also provides viewers with your succinct opinion.

    I like your videos but I wish you wouldn't make your voice so "Radio DJ". A more natural sound would be more pleasant.

      o_o I really don't understand what some of you expect of me. This is my natural voice, and I've moved to a completely natural mic without any post-processing, even.

    Green Screens were cool about 5 years ago for streaming. Then broadcasters realized how awful the lighting is for gaming and quickly backed away from it. Look at the top broadcasters on twitch, non use green screens anymore because it's worse.

    • @EposVox
      @EposVox  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Does your green screen usage frequently involve you moving your entire wingspan? For the sit down streamer scenario it was intended for its mostly a nonissue

    • @keithprice3369
      @keithprice3369 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@EposVox True, but it would be nice to have at least a BIT of room for hand motions and body swaying. I mean, at 10:19, your elbows are way outside the screen boundaries and you're just doing a simple thumbs up. Hardly a full wing span.
      That said, I very much appreciate your video. Very helpful in the decision making process. I think I may go with a wider screen.
