You don't simply play this game with a bunch of characters. You meet the characters, you join them, you act as them, you interact with them. These are not just characters from a game, these almost feel like real people you met in your life. The way they bring these characters to life is beyond comprehension.
When Joshua gets the light back on his eye... The whereabouts of light... It was with his Estelle all along 😭
"No one's looking. Cry as long as you want. And I'll.... just hold you like this."
It was at that moment you realized you experienced one of the greatest moments in JRPG history.
Me when listening to a playlist of trails music decides to head down to the comments:

When I first read this comment I hadn't gotten to that part, so I thought it was Joshua who said those words.
Now that I've finished the game, knowing that those words were said by Estelle made that scene so much better.
This scene was brillian not only as tearjerker but also in avoiding edgelord cliche.
@@ignacywinski192 this is why i truly love joshua charecter, he understands that he can never be normal and wants to be alone. But because of Estelle he xan feel emotions again and it is why i lvoe these characters
Corrderio Not even just JRPGs. One of the best moments in any video game period. And honestly one of my favorite moments in all of fiction.
After how heartbroken Estelle was at the beginning of the game, this scene was very satisfying to watch. It felt so perfect.
This scene was quite tough but bearable... until Joshua's portrait changed. My eyes started sweating
Hands down the greatest scene in the Sky trilogy
No matter what, always find myself struggling to hold back the tears during this part

Such a beautiful line.
So ..... I discovered this recently with cold steel played 1 and 2 in the preparation for 3 and loved it so much .. cant wait for 4!
Intrigued with the series I purchased the trails in the sky games on steam all on sale ... I yesterday finally reunited with Joshua in the second chapter .... I am a grown ass man ... and this got me soooo hard ... I cried .. tears of joy.
This series is so amazing and I am absolutely loving the trails in the sky arc ... it has opened up the world even more to me.
I'm so glad I jumped in.

Best. Couple. Ever. Never cried so much and so joyously. I'm incredibly happy I got to meet Estelle and Joshua. And everyone around them.

No doubt, this is the best JRPG I have ever played. The Dark Story, the wonderful characters, the funny moments, the tear jerking moments are all the things that makes this a flawless JRPG game.
Don't forget the Orbments! Or the cooking! Or the monster guide/s! Or, Or, Or....Ummm....I don't....I can't remember much else.... xD

For me it'd be:
1) Tita Russell (I mean, come ON she is TOO ADORABLE! =p)
2) Renne (Because she's lethal AND cute xD)
3) Estelle Bright (She's funny - Yet an airheaded genius ;))
4) Kevin Graham (Because he's just hilarious =D)

Hmm.... That's a really interesting question. There's so much awesome characters in this game. Ok here's my top 4 characters ---
1. Joshua - very calm and intelligent. Love his dual strike craft!
2. Olivier - can't stop laughing when this guy shows up!!!
3. Estelle - sometimes her attitude is funny :D
4. Agate - straightforward and tough guy. He has his soft side which is great to watch!
And my favorite antagonist is Loewe, the Sword Emperor. I wished if he was playable!
BTW I'm currently playing Trail in the Sky 3rd chapter.

The acoustic guitar solo takes the cake for me, honestly.
I love when composers make their music feel alive despite being meant as background music, and having some improv in there is a great way to do it.

Man I was tearing up so badly during the scene this song played. And now I'm tearing up again listening to it.
This is perfect for THAT moment we were waiting for throughout the game. Falcom really delivers good moments and does not disappoint in the most important ones.

I know a lot of people prefer this song with vocals, but I always associate it with the harmonica, that damn blue tin whistly instrument that kept these two characters so intertwined even with everything that separated them, that I actually prefer this version.
Like the harmonica part doesn't even sound completely right, it sounds almost amateurish and not properly in the mix (which I imagine they used a MIDI instead of an actual harmonica for this), but given Estelle barely knew how to play the damn thing it actually makes sense in context.

I seriously hear this every time I listen to this song. I feel like this is the message the song presents.

i hate how heartbroken estelle was when joshua was gone. They made such a great team together i just loved the dark story

When Estelle got Joshua to come back and then Loewe's death... oh man. what wonderful memories. my favorite RPG ever. I love this more then xenogears, any final fantasy, any dragon quest, this will always be my favorite.

Lol I'm so glad I didn't look for this OST straight away when I heard it, as I just finished the game. Loewe's death wasn't all that surprising but still would have ruined the moment I think. I was so into it. This game is fabulous.

100% a Violin is played for sure, maybe a harmonica too (although you can do it entirely via harmonica if you wanted), electric guitar - but most likely other instruments too, possibly a flute also

Yeah, I'm 100% certain with what happened in the final chapters and finale of SC.
I wouldn't call it a "rip off". By that logic, a lot of things today would be "rip offs" since nothing today is really original.
