Kinda nice thing that Estelle means Star. And, Well, "shining like the sun", obviously a star, I love the details in the Trails Series. Cassius', Joshua's, Klaudia's and even "Alba's" have some kind of meaning that resembles them.
"t-t-the first kiss is really important to a girl, you know and, and it was your fault that mine got wasted! so you've... you've got take responsibility, mister!" closed her eyes as I started screaming and later cried about the tease but BEST QUOTE
The ending of this game is really well done. I felt sad seeing Loewe's and Karen's grave, but at the same time I felt happy seeing Estelle paying respect to them and opening up to Joshua more. Very few games actually manage to achieve this level of empathy. Last time I felt like that was when I played Earthbound. FC and SC are masterpieces that deserve a lot more attention. I keep recommending them to people who like story focused rpg's.
This scene and song made me cry the entire way through. I don't cry that much at movies or games but I could not cope with poor Estelle having to suffer through that dream and then waking from it knowing she can never see her dear mother again.
i love how well this song's title applies to all three scenes it plays in. Estelle's dream in chapter 4 literally continuing, Joshua's dream of being with Estelle continuing when they reunite (he describes living with her as feeling like a dream at the end of fc), and the dream that is Estelle and Joshua's journey continuing for one more game :')
12 years ago I received the first game for my PSP, but I never did finish it probably cause I was busy with college. I finished the other Legend of Heroes games though, but just never got into this sprawling RPG. Fast forward to January 2022, feeling very lonely I started this series again and have completely fallen in love. I've never read so much in a video game, but each game feels like I'm reading several books. The second game will forever be my favorite with a certain scene that brings me to tears just thinking about it...here I am more than a year later and I've finally gotten to the last game of the Cold Steel games (released in NA) and I'm still enjoying them. It just blows my mind they're still continuing this series, but it makes me happy it's still getting the love and attention it deserves.
Am I the only one who wants to relive his childhood, where everything was so simple, after hearing this masterpiece? It has such a beautiful touch of a simple life, without a loss of a mother, without a war and without Ouroboros
At first the name doesn't make that much sense, but then the song loops, the scene goes on, you start to cry, you wonder why does she have to go through this, the scene keeps going on, you cry a bit more, the song loops again and the dream continues.
Hearing this come back in 3rd was so cool. It's such a tender song with so many memories and feelings. Probably my favourite across the entire Sky series.
Always thought that the title of this track was referring to Estelle's dream where it first plays. Just realized that it's referring to Joshua's time with Estelle being like a dream. The Dream Continues...
I loved this music in the moments its used (Not saying when for when others play SC) but....All I can say is that Estelle....You're one of a kind, and you deserve happiness ;D That's all I'll say :) G' night =p
Chapter 4 is probably the chapter I like the least (I'm still halfway into SC), but that dream scene made it all completely worth it. I was nearly moved to tears when I met Lena. And through the rest of the scene as well. And the music played no small part.
My least favorite was CH 2 didn't really have anything too important happen and I think the villain introduced in that chapter is probably the most boring of the bunch. At least with CH 4 I enjoyed seeing how everyone in Rolent was doing, and because its Estelle's hometown all the NPC's seemed like they genuinely cared about her. (Plus the drinking contest side quest was really fun to watch)
@KingCallum101 even some sidequests that took place in THAT CITY require lots of backtracking. FC: visit every part of that region wearing prototype shoes + solve puzzles and retrieve 3 books from 3 different locations outside the city SC: get engine replacement to fix a car stranded on the road and later in Chapter 8 requires you to backtrack a lot and even going back to that port town (revisiting dark tunnel) to retrieve parts that need to fix that hot spring pump.
But what's the reason to ship Kloe and Joshua together though? I'm just honestly curious at this point. Other than the both of them being good-looking together, I don't really see anything else beyond that.
Lalisa T Joshua never showed interest in Kloe, it was always Kloe who had the one-sided crush. And she seemed to be more in love with the idea of being loved.
Currently playing the 3rd, just got past Tita's Moon door which is what made me look this song up...how exactly have you really spoiled anything of consequence for me? lol
You know when Joshua's sister died he became incredibly emotionally scarred but when Estelle's mom died she got stronger and really gained a purpose. Joshua might be stronger than Estelle when it comes to a fight but he's got nothing on her when it comes to emotional strength lol
It’s true. Joshua may be a terrifying fighter, but Estelle is the one with a heart of gold and the strength of will to back it up. It’s one thing that I really appreciated about the Sky series, in that it really showed how strong Estelle really is as a person. She’s not the smartest nor the most competent fighter, but what she has is a heart and soul that “shines like the sun,” and in the end that’s what matters the most. It’s easy to see why people gravitate to her and trust her, and why Joshua couldn’t help but fall in love with her. She’s just too irrepressibly kind and bright (no pun intended) for a weak, broken person like him to resist, and she filled what was once an empty soul with love and heart. It’s why she’s one of my favorite characters in fiction, and I certainly wasn’t expecting that to be the case when I first met her as a little child that jumped on an injured boy repeatedly just to get him to shut up.
Well, part of it is that Estelle had Cassius, Schera and the people of Rolent to help her cope (even though Schera arrived a bit later as I recall). Joshua had just Loewe, and though they were close, Loewe was his sister's boyfriend, not his father. There's also the fact that Cassius is waaaaay more capable than Loewe for giving emotional support. And then Weissman happened
As much as I agree with TS & the first reply, I also can't deny some solid points in brawlfan's argument. Loewe was still a teenager back then, he actually still need emotional support too... but he should take care of a little boy whose heart so broken he couldn't do anything. Loewe said to Estelle himself; she had done things that he couldn't do, which change both Joshua and Renne yet she made it so trivial. Estelle had way more support and much better environment. She didn't have to be someone else's experiment puppet. Losing your mother is one thing, but seeing your whole hometown burnt into ash and accidentally killed someone is... another thing. But then again... Estelle really is mentally stronger than Joshua. Why? She never blamed anyone for her mother's death. I mean, she could blame her father if she wants to... since Cassius also blame himself for it. She could blame the army, she could blame Erebonians who started it all, she could blame Weissmann... she could blame herself, since her mother died while protecting her! But no, she didn't do any of that. And that's what really made her shine for me. Everytime she talks about Hundred Days War, or when she met Erebonian militaries, when Agate became really angry at Weissmann since his "experiment" took Mischa away from him... (you'll know what I meant if you bring Agate in your party in SC's last boss battle), I expect her to blame someone. But she never did that. She accepted the facts and keep on living. She's not running away from her pain; she face it in the best way possible. She's also the one who pointed directions for brokenhearted Joshua. She did it many times. That's the proof that, even though Joshua is more logical and calm, he couldn't beat Estelle's way of seeing what actually in front of them.
Still listening in this year (2019) I hope they release the Crossbell Arc on PC, this series is really good that I want to play this in order rather skip immediately to Cold Steel Arc
Joshua: "Always bright, optimistic, and shining like the sun. That's the girl I fell in love with."
Estelle: *Blush*
Kinda nice thing that Estelle means Star. And, Well, "shining like the sun", obviously a star, I love the details in the Trails Series. Cassius', Joshua's, Klaudia's and even "Alba's" have some kind of meaning that resembles them.

I think most of us can agree Estelle is one of the if not the best female protagonist of all time
She is Trails series main iconic protagonist.
she's the best female protagonist of all time.
Bestelle!!
Anyway she's how I was first interested in Trails series.
for me Dana from YS 8 is the best female protagonist of all time
Not even just female she's an amazing protagonist in general
I don't know why but that scene at the SC epilogue with this song destroyed me. I'm glad I found these games.
"t-t-the first kiss is really important to a girl, you know
and, and it was your fault that mine got wasted! so you've... you've got take responsibility, mister!" closed her eyes as I started screaming and later cried about the tease but BEST QUOTE
I don't think it was a tease. It was cut short, but they definitely kissed at that scene.
The ending of this game is really well done.

I wonder did Loewe see a bit of Joshua sister in estelle?
@@PrincessTwilightdashThat would be pretty cute... But even Joshua says they're basically opposites, Kloe was more like Karin than Estelle
This is one of those songs that sounds happy out of context, but in context almost brings you to tears.
agreed!
This scene and song made me cry the entire way through. I don't cry that much at movies or games but I could not cope with poor Estelle having to suffer through that dream and then waking from it knowing she can never see her dear mother again.
My eyes are teary yet my lips are smiling.
i just finished SC today...i am crying now.....such beautiful song, ost, story, everything....hope the rest are as good as this one
This puts a massive smile on my face. Estelle x Joshua FOREVER

If feels like reading several books because it's advertises in japan as a STORY rpg. Not RPG. Not Action RPG.
"Beautiful" is the word to describe this music
Am I the only one who wants to relive his childhood, where everything was so simple, after hearing this masterpiece?
It has such a beautiful touch of a simple life, without a loss of a mother, without a war and without Ouroboros
"I finally know how she felt back then Joshua..."
I LOVE THIS MOMENT SO MUCH UGHHHH
When you just join the company and casually compose one of the greatest Emotional BGM of all time
At first the name doesn't make that much sense, but then the song loops, the scene goes on, you start to cry, you wonder why does she have to go through this, the scene keeps going on, you cry a bit more, the song loops again and the dream continues.
first time I heard this song ... coming back to Rolent, Estelle dreaming of her mom, my favorite song from the series
Hearing this come back in 3rd was so cool. It's such a tender song with so many memories and feelings. Probably my favourite across the entire Sky series.
If the game ended right there on that beach I wouldn't have even been mad

There aren't many songs that make me cry on demand. This is one of them. My eyes are too blurry to properly read what I'm typing ;_;
"Mama... it's really mama!"
+James Galizio Heart wrenching.

+James Galizio I feel so sad now :(
+James Galizio There's still some space in the Feel Bus. Anyone want in?
*eternal feel bus I think you mean ;)
These are the parts I play these games for
This part of the game felt reminiscent of Mother 3 in some ways. Been a long time since I was so invested in a game's story.
Remember... no crying until the end.
“I’ll be with you until the very end.”
The best theme for ending a chapter and a game. In fact, I think it would make a good theme at the end of a wedding too
Such a great one. Really love the sadder sounding songs in this game
The feels...
This would make a great lullaby
How does a song still give you feels even when you finished the game? I'm currently experiencing the feels so I can't answer.
Ah yes, the "*I'm not crying you're crying!!!*" track.
(sniffle)
I'm gonna cry. ;~;
+anendlessbluesky You're preaching to the choir!
I'm so happy I can listen to this again from the remake version of sky and seeing those scenes again with this music.
Estelle went dere-dere in front of Karin's tombstone

This was used at the right time alright. Pulled some heartstrings of mine.
That dream was too fucking cruel, man
The flashbak scene with Estelle's mom reminded me of Xenogears.

1:59-3:20 My favorite part, sad yet encouraging. Totally fits a beach sunset. The atmosphere in this game is truly something else.
BEST song in the sky games ❤❤❤
