My brother urged me to learn how to make this and I found your video and I did. My family loved this and now I’m on red rice duty for the holidays. I used hillshire farms beef smoked sausage in mine. My people have a similar dish. But, it also has sage and thyme. Then it was topped with an egg. I can't say the original name because it doesn't transfer into English. Sunrise/sunset is as close as I can get. Isnt it amazing how food tells a story. Or connects cultures 😲😊

This recipe comes from the western coast of Africa bought to America by the slave trade Ghana and Nigeria and other western countries of Africa makes this dish when they get married or other important celebrations they came here to grow the Rice Plantations they have the skills of planting Rice 🌾🌾🌾🌾!
