Nintendo's Super Smash Bros. fighting game series is rather different from your typical fighting game. Instead of wearing your opponent's health down to 0, you must knock him or her out of the battlefield. Damage counts upwards, with knockback from attacks that hit you becoming more severe as your damage increases. Fighting controls are also simplified, making it very easy for even your non-gaming friends to pick up and play.
Super Smash Bros. Melee offers fighters from the wealth of Nintendo characters like Mario, Bowser, different Pokémon, Link, and Kirby. They can either fight through the single-player modes like Classic, Adventure, and Event Mode, or they battle it out against other characters in a four-player frenzy.
Additional characters and stages are unlocked as hidden objectives are met, and coins rewarded for playing in all modes can be spent on a capsule toy machine. The toys in the machine represent games from Nintendo's entire video game history, and each can be viewed in 3D with a brief description.
This time, PracticalTAS (tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/P...) plays through the All-Star Mode (which gets unlocked after unlocking every character) as Luigi, whilst not dealing any damage to the opponents in the process.

Well yes, but actually not quite.
"Not hitting them" awards you with the bonus Merciful Master (which, if you're careful enough to notice, is purposefully shown after the end of every round via scrolling down the list).
The Switzerland bonus, however, if l understand correctly, *is when you perform no attacks at all -- even missed ones.*

@@jayninja2747 no, Luigi can't attack at all and not get hit to get the Switzerland bonus, but the tas uses some attacks to manipulate the AI

"Give That Guy a Map" mode
Reminder that there's a Special Bonus called "Merciful Master", which can be earned from winning a match without do any damage to an opponent. This TAS will make sure to scroll the Special Bonus list to see that Bonus every match.

Luigi wins by performing convoluted shenanigans that make everyone else forget about the very concept of self-preservation.
Something than other gamer found is the ai in hard mode os super aggresive, also forgets the life concept (in ultimate is more agrro too!)
Convoluted should note an asterisk, I mean you saw how Bowser just accepted death after Luigi moved 2 steps forward

Why is there a bonus called Switzerland, and why is it worth 12000 points?
From the SSBM wiki:
Never attacked (including misses) and never took any damage
Switzerland is a neutral nation.

This brings memories where I tried to get every pacifist bonus in SSB64 in one run but just couldn't do it, though I think I got them at lest once separately except for polygon team, they were just too much, and too many XD
I got stuck with the question: is there a end-game pacifist bonus? Cause you just can't do it against Master Hand... Or can you?! 🤔

I'm pretty sure the reason PTAS picked All-Star is because it's notoriously difficult on Very Hard anyway-launch distance modifiers everywhere and you keep your damage after clearing a stage with only three chances to heal, and also those 25 G&W's at the end...

He knew which stages were easier to trick the CPUs into killing themselves, so he just had to find which RNG made all the stages he needed to appear.

You just had to manipulate the RNG for literally HALF a MINUTE before going into the real action, yeesh.
Sometimes people just deliberately make RNG manipulation more and more complicated as newer gen video game consoles are made.
They must of known the existence of such a trick and were destined to circumvent it.
