  • BremSter solves "Inner Eye" by mnasti2.
A Sudoku using the Arrow and Relocages constraints.
Solve in Sven's SudokuPad WebApp: sudokupad.app/qpt21z5dp2
    📋 Puzzle Rules:
    • Normal Sudoku rules apply.
    • Standard arrows: Digits along a grey arrow sum to the digit in the circle cell attached to that arrow. Digits can repeat along an arrow if allowed by other rules.
    • Relocages: If a digit in a cage is placed on a small black arrow, then one of the other digits in the same cage must be pointed at by the arrow and be a distance away equal to the digit placed on the black arrow.
For example, if R3C8 was a 2, then R5C6 would be the same digit as either R2C7 or R2C8.

Great solve, glad you enjoyed! (For the sticky bit, we can resolve green/yellow by counting distance in column 1.) Thanks for the constraint, it was lots of fun to play around with!

i only realised that after i had already deduced the 6/7 pair through a long winding calculation. felt like such a fool, but truly an amazing, amazing construction.

This puzzle took me an embarrassingly long time, but I loved it! What a cool constraint. Thanks for mnasti2 for making it, and BremSter for sharing!

What a fantastic puzzle, so beautifully constructed and the relocages are used so well... WOW.

Oh man... I stared at this for so long and finally gave up. As soon as I opened this video, I saw two arrows that were not visible in my Android version of Sven's app. The arrows in cells R1C2 and R2C1 are behind the circles and really not at all visible.
I gave this another go now that I know those arrows exist. Still a beast of a puzzle for me. Struggling to get through it. I needed to "phone a friend" to get past a certain point so I watched this video. I think you made a mistake at 25:05. You got the logic backwards. Turns out to be correct, but it was a logic mistake nonetheless.

This is a nice idea. Soon you will make a great puzzle using this idea, like the other one that I loved it (with the numbers in a tab).
Whoa! I didn't see the arrow in the R1C1, but even after that I was stuck. In 17:30 you shiw that R4C3 can't be 3 of 4, and that's was the key for my solve!! Thanks 🎉🎉😂

Great puzzle, thanks. Now, by the time you placed the green box on the column 1, you'd know it's indexed by the 6 at the top, thus its value must be 7!

At 25:00 didn't you mistakenly say that if purple is 4 then 3 gets to R7C8? If purple is 4, then that means that R6C7 is 4

Yes. Luckily it worked, but the logic was wrong.

25:06 You didn't explain fully why pink can't be 4. At that point you can resolve that R2C1 is 6 because green is six cells away and R2C1 being 6 tells us the arrow can't have a 4 anymore so pink has to be 3.

A bit of a cock-up i'm afraid - at 25:00 this was logic was not correct. Have Another look. I'm utterly stuck at this point.

Agreed the logic is flawed, but this is how I made the deduction.
You can see in the first column that the yellow 67 pair points to the green 67 pair… since they are six cells apart, the yellow must be the 6, and so the green must be the 7

Beautiful puzzle. Quite tricky, got stuck on it for a while, solved it in 77:44.
I found a different break-in. If r1c1 was 8, placing 6 into r9c9, making r6c6 9, the 9 could only go to row 2 in box 2 and to column 2 in box 4, leaving no place for 9 in box 1. I feel that the break-in using 6 in either r1c9 or r0c1 is cooler, though :)

Not all arrows in box 1 are very visible on android.
