The photo says "Für meine liebe Idil allerherzlichst von Ihrem Lehrer Wilhelm Kempff" which means "For my dear Idil, with the most cordial wishes, from your teacher Wilhelm Kempff" a dedication to his student, the Turkish pianist Idil Biret.
srothbardt yes. And also 3:58 is a further elaboration of the main theme of Schubert’s first piano sonata in E major. The more I study Schubert’s piano sonatas, the more I see his continual development of ideas and motifs.
But I think the three Sonatas deserve his recongition , It's just like all Beethoven C minor Sonatas (no5 , Pathetique , and the last one ) They all are great
@@OuaghlaniAlaa yes it's the same melody but schubert himself surely hadn't noticed it...he'is been wroting so many pieces! He died so young, he'd happy seeing us noticing iti! :)

Extremely good and stylish playing, that one would expect from Wilhelm Kempff. Lovely, clean textures.

A Room with a View brought me here. I watched the movie 2 days ago and I just had to hear this piece.
Thank you Eva, I added it in my playlist as one of the best piano pieces in A minor.
The second mvt. contains the main theme of the Rondo of the future Sonata in A (Sonata No. 20).
in a very crude early form - shows how much Schubert developed in his final years. Beethoven showed the way.

The three Sonatas in a minor are similar (d537, d784 and d845)

One of the proofs that Schubert's music didn't change.
I see Lucy Honeychuch in a formal Victorian parlour every time I hear this piece. Love it here, too.
Lovely! Summery and buoyant :)
Thank you , Haruki Murakami...
Nice pace
Thanks for uploading!
Realmente precioso.
Awesome 💖
Thank you, Eva.
The allegretto second movement has an interesting resemblance to the final movement of the late sonata D559.

is this with repeat or without
He plays the repeat of the exposition but not the repeat of the development and recapitulation in the first movement.
Anyone else here to learn their ARCT pieces?
Гениально! Крым наш!
