In the 1960s Mr. Wilhelm Kempff was the big star among the pianists - at least here in Germany. It is considered a reference in terms of German romanticism.
the best Schubert Sonata playing on Y.T. I have heard. the only thing I don't agree with is that he tends to cut his breaths, thus misleading the listener to hear the next phase started on the wrong beat. Otherwise, his rhythm is second to none; his playing beautiful, expressive and very stylish, that is, in style.
If the Composer was Schubert; The Pianist is Eva Young; What role did Wilhelm Kempff play? Please advise me. Or is EvaYoungPianist merely the Uploader of Kempff's recordings?
Thank you for uploading this.
The second theme of the second movement is so beautiful. Quintessential Schubert.
It's always a delight to listen to Kempff! I always feel lighter and peaceful. Thank you.
Where it comes to these fantastic sonatas...I'd much prefer Wilhelm Kempff as much as anyone...THANK YOU!!!....
Idk man, Paul Lewis or Mitsico Uchida are pretty good too
An incredible piece!
Thank you so much for uploading it!

So moderate. Nor wake with wings in heaven, nor weep for pains in hell.
If somebody finds a recording of Schubert playing this beautifulpiece himself, I would definitly watch it. :)

I think Schubert was only 15 when he wrote this sonata.
Do you know the year ?.
@@herrvonunknowngut7141 1815 he was 18
This sonata lacks a final movement
Impressive technically... though not my favorite for Schubert.
