Dibald Gyfm Yeah, it’s very much similar to the second movement of Beethoven’s Piano Sonata No. 27 which could also be referred to as “Eine Lied ohne Worte”. Btw I like your creative comparison using a story, and yeah it really does sound like a good background to a poem or a story!!
I learned the Beethoven sonatas by opus number, and just spend about a minute saying to myself, What are they talking about ? Opus 27 is either Eb major or c# minor. I can't count them up without starting from the end or the beginning.
2nd movement metronomic!! Schubert was the greatest writer of lied, but there is no breath here. Even the accompaniment is overly-subservient, even though it has character of its own.
It feels so good to discover a sonata from one of your most beloved composers that you had never heard before
И когда её исполняет великий Кемпф!
I remember Kempff playing this sonata in 1972 in London. I was transfixed.
Sublime performance.
Gracias por la vida!!!
Amazing play
This is gorgeous playing.
Second movement (07:12) has so many beautiful melodies, and Kemp manages to keep it together as a "story without words" (Or Lied ohne Worte?) :)

I love this sonata
12:00 is so beautiful!!
It's a lovely closing! It's so gratifying when it comes back, a little higher at the end. :D th-cam.com/video/UdtR7_K48do/w-d-xo.html
@@geoffgeis1067 I love it!! it really is gratifying, it warms my heart too :)
for me Kempff just nails this sonata Richter is wonderful but the beauty of W. kempff's playing us superb,
Richter is too fast
This sonata seems structured very much after Beethoven’s No 27 in e minor.
I agree. Both are very similar.
Especially the second movement.Almost a twin brother !

teddy toto It is, especially the second movement!!
this one got me in the feels, really helps with my hardcore deppression
Bravo!🌈
It's sad that Schuberts Sonatas are overshadowed by Beethoven. The second movement is as good as the second movement of Beethoven's 27th sonata.
The second movement sounds like the second movement of Beethoven Piano Sonata no 27
The whole sonata does. Two movements, E minor/ E major
T. Alexander E. Yep, both connect very much so!!
