I get so tired of the same layouts in vans so id probably put the bed in the (bathroom) slide which makes it easier to make each day or possibly murphy bed so its out of the way all the way. I love seeing creativity that can be modified to fit others needs , well done !
15:34 This is simply amazing ! I do have a slide out on my Sprinter but sadly was deactivated by the previous owner and modified but with the right knowlege and skills could be reactivated ! The added space would be amazing ! 😊
Very innovative. I wish your plans were available in some of the class Bs that are for sale. I really like the back bed slide. You solved a lot of the issues that are van life problems. We got rid of our Airstream Interstate due to the teeny tiny bathroom and it got really "old" to have to make up the bed every single day.
I love this slideout! I plan on making a bed with a pulley system above the lounge area. But, I would love to switch out rear doors for built-in awning door. Your slide-out bathroom and awning rear door system has made look at a van conversion again. Thank you for your hard work and sharing with us. 😊
A boondockers who stayed on our property had the Ram Van but he purchased with sliding doors on both sides and made the drivers side door into a slide out.
I have seen a video where someone did the same (maybe same guy?). Most of what I have done has been done by someone else to some degree, but I have never seen a slide out with a dry bath.
No, it doesn't. Some details I didn't cover for time sake. There is a wiper seal and angle at the inside of the slide out roof. Some water does make it down into the section where the pinch weld is under the van, but it has drain scuppers. (the lower van moldings aren't sealed very well from the factory anyway) Some water can get in if it's raining when you slide the unit in or out, but I have plastic troughs that carry it to where the scuppers are. 😊
I'm sure you know Leisure Travel Vans was the first to put a slide in their Class B van. And Winnebago followed after. They used a van with a door on the driver's side.
No. They are mostly for roof and wall support which is now supported by the partition walls and U-beam. Just think about a van with dual slide doors. The payload is not reduced.
Wonder how this will hold up in a crash test, cutting out a part in a square construction seriously weakens the part. Just look at shipping containers, they are a stiff bullet proof box. Cut out a section from the side walls and it behaves like a flimsy cardboard box.
❤See the reveal video for this van th-cam.com/video/2uI9TAoSwb0/w-d-xo.html ❤
I have been watching van build since 2019. Your build surely the best design and best workmanship!
Thanks!

That's the beauty of a custom camper. Thanks!
You got a bathtub in a van. I’m impressed.
Thanks!
I am VERY VERY impressed!
Thanks very very much!
Wow this is pretty smart! Congrats!
Thanks!

Very cool!

To get quality and non-cookie cutter stuff, custom build is the way to go. Thanks!

Thanks and glad you're inspired by the video. 👍
This slide out is amazing. Would be awesome to use a one piece fiberglass slide out for weight saving, but not sure how much weight can be save.

That's pretty amazing. How big is the water tank in this van? Is the shower recirculating?
We have 20 gal of fresh, 45 gal black. This works good when we stay at places with water but no full hookups. Shower is not recirculating.
Respect ✊ ❤😊
Thanks!
Wouldnt you compromise the stucture by cutting out the support structure?
No. The fixed partition walls and u-beam that get added in actually make it stronger.
Great project. Tks
Thanks
Assuming it rained, would water get in from the top while extended?
No, it doesn't. Some details I didn't cover for time sake. There is a wiper seal and angle at the inside of the slide out roof. what a cool video. Thanks 4 that. Will help me a lot
Glad it helped!

Yes. What I haven't seen before is using a slide for a bathroom.
Did you reduce the payload capacity by cutting out the c-pillar and horizontal beams?
No. They are mostly for roof and wall support which is now supported by the partition walls and U-beam. Just think about a van with dual slide doors. The payload is not reduced.
Nice work, did you make a video on your slide out bedroom?
Not yet. I may add that to my list of to do videos 👍

I am tired … too much work
That's why you hire him.
