Hey Aaron & Chris! Excellent overview of the True Topper. After 20 years with 3 traditional slide toppers on our motorhome, our biggest issue has always been the fact that they're mounted LEVEL, which allows water to pool. We upgraded the fabric to the FAR superior Tough Top Awnings material, which virtually eliminates flapping in the wind. But that still doesn't change the fact that they're mounted level, so water still pools, which we hate. We're planning the same True Topper upgrade when we get our new rig, so it's great to hear you're having a good experience. See ya on the road! 😄
Hey guys! Good to hear from you and hope all is well since we last talked! We've heard the Tough Top Awning material is really great and I'm excited for you guys to get your new rig and try out the True Toppers. You'll love them....such a simple, robust, clean, and innovative product. I knew we had to have them when we were ordering our 5th wheel. Hope to see you guys sooner than later! 😊
I think I would still blow the tops off prior to closing the slide, when possible, to try to minimize the chance of small items from getting in. Thanks again for all the videos!!
Thanks! Yes, you certainly could still blow off the slides and it would be a lot easier without the flanges on there now. But, I haven't since we got them and they're clean every time! 👍
WOW this company is about to get really rich - once the RV manufactures see this, they are going to want them on ALL of their RVs with slide outs - This company needs to reach out to the RV manufacturers and sell them to them ASAP I hope this company has patents for it - As a mechanical engineer for over 35 years I think these toppers are quite ingenious - safe travels Lance
No, they won’t. Rv manufacturers are all about saving money and cutting cost in the end. Also they will have to modify the lips on the slides. Don’t hold your breath.
I love it. I’m from the PNW, and could use them. I’m going to look into these. When you say it’s like it never quits raining in Oregon. You’re right. If you want to check your RV for water intrusion, just take it to the PNW. A joke we would tell is ; “People in Oregon don’t tan……They Rust.” 😂 Or; 375 people fell off their bikes, in Portland,……and Drowned. 😖😖
My issue with slide toppers is the wind and also the rain pooling on the topper. Have actually pulled slides in while at the beach because of the wind whipping them. Visited with their sales rep at the FMCA rally in Perry GA back in March and very impressed. Glad to see the video on the actual installation.
I modified my three slide toppers to have a longitudinal slope as well as a higher athwart slope. Then the spring is set to maximum tension for the slide travel. No pooling no flapping. That system is very nice, but way beyond my budget. A new complete slide topper for one of my slides cost me $305 delivered. I do all work on my trailer myself.
I agree 100% about the cost. A lot of us retired full time RV’ers can’t afford items like this. I also do my own work and maintenance. I keep my slider roofs extremely clean and keep the rubbers seals treated. I also remove and replace the caulk bead along the inner aluminum strip every two years. If I’m near trees I keep the roof blown off. Maintenance of the entire camper is the key to happy full time RVing!! ✌️
Nicely done. I'm glad to see you got these. I've been curious about those after hearing about them a couple years ago. I imagine keeping them clean from dirt and pollen will help the seals. Gonna have to wash the rig with the slides out 😊
Thanks Brian! Yes, I really like the simple engineering design on these. Feel like a good "Tito" design! I do like that they protect the top bulb seal and wipe from the sun. All that rain you guys get up there washed our rig for us! 🤣☔️
Looks like a pretty good system. On our Class A, we have three slides, small, large and largest. The small would work with this system, the two larger slides have a locking system that projects up through the slide roof that locks the whole slide in place for travel. So that would not work with this system. Regarding noise, it was terrible on the two larger slides during any sort of windstorm. At about our 6-year point, the topper material was stretched and ripping. we went with Tough Tops out of Vancouver WA, for new custom-made toppers for our RV. We sent them the measurements, and they sent us custom cut toppers for each slide. Following their video instructions, this 70-year-old installed them, himself. Nice material, great quality, selection of colors, and . . . very quiet in windstorms. Still going strong after 7 more years, I chose the medium gray color which does seem to help reduce temperatures in the AZ sun.
Awesome video! U2 do a great job keeping us fulltimers informed. I love the product thanks for putting it on our radar. That and a flex armor roof would make for some good piece of mind from outside elements….lifetime warranty on both!
👍 Thanks! Yes, love the True Topper Design! I've heard of the flex armor roof before. It might have been a good thing to do before I put all those solar panels up there! 🤣
Looks like a great product. I had to remove all 3 toppers from my class a because they malfunctioned. I’m going to look into this as a solution. These videos frustrate me though because I don’t understand why the RV manufacturers aren’t coming up with these solutions. We spend hundreds of thousands of dollars yet they keep producing the same thing over and over despite knowing it’s a problem area. Thanks for the video.
I truly feel these will be factory standard equipment in the near future. All it takes is one manufacture to want to go above and beyond the rest......and the rest will follow. 😊
This is excellent. Such a smart idea. We switched to a slide free coach for many reasons, wind noise being high on the list! We had a (2021 built, non-full time use) slide topper bolt sheer off while we were in YELL last summer. We were glad to have a ladder, and all the right tools, on board so we could remove the whole assembly. What a pain. And LCI doesn’t warranty them for long enough while using cheap components. :( These guys are doing it right!
Looks awesome guys! And Chris you really put your money where your mouth is - working out in a factory during an install had to unlock a new level!! 💪👏🙌
This looks like a well designed product that works well in conjunction with the 2 other wiper seals that are already on an RV to keep out all that debris. Something to consider.
Thanks so.much for posting this video, been anticipating it so I could actually see your install. I also have an Alliance but its a Valor that I have having this done next summer. I have the same tight clearance on my passenger slide like you do, and was glad to see what they did to make work for you. Thanks again for sharing and I will be following you guys as you travel across the country..
You're very welcome! Yes, that tight awning had me worried for months, before we got it done! I was blown away by there ability to make high quality aluminum parts to such tight tolerances. Appreciate you watching!
Hi Aaron and Chris 😀 You were absolutely right about the nice people at True Topper. After the first of the year I will have mine installed. I am not comfortable climbing ladders and my trailer doesn’t have a ladder. I am so looking forward to getting this installed. Heidi was so nice and accommodating. Helps I’m not to far away. Thank you I can’t wait!
Nice. Concern that I have is that the sacrificial slide topper material actually does protect the top of the slide. Now having no material covering the slide, the slide is actually now fully exposed to direct rain, debris and the sun. Looks nice though. I’ve had my RV for 4yrs, my slide is 16ft long. I just changed my seals and slide topper material after it was worn and there was some minor water intrusion. Took me about 2hrs to change and cost about $400 of course I did it myself. The dealers wanted $1400. This system looks really nice best of luck, nice video..
I really appreciate your time and effort. I love the product and the quality of the work... It would be great if the manufacturers could install during the building process...
We recently rented a fifth wheel that had fabric slide toppers. During my inspection I didn't notice that one of the toppers didn't roll back up correctly (but the owner's pictures showed that one of the toppers didn't look right). Upon arriving at our camping destination, as I was opening the slide I heard a loud bang and the whole slide sort of bumped and bounced. The topper had become tangled and stopped opening which caused a big stress on the top of the slide. The topper ended up being ripped from the side of the camper and the slide didn't open up all the way after that. This wasn't my rig and it was damaged because of the slide topper. We were able to remove the fabric and close the slide completely so we were able to get it home, but since it was in my possession, it cost me my $1500 deductible. Thanks for showing this better way so I don't have to worry about toppers again as I buy my own fifth wheel.
Wow. Great Video! First time seeing this on a 4th Wheel. We have a 2008 Tiffin Allegro Bus and have considered this option. I was quoted around $4.5k for the install. Replacement slide toppers run me around $800 every 3 or 4 years. All things being equal, the True Toppers are actually superior to the slide toppers. Just a note - Tiffin is not installing these on all their motorhomes. From what I understand, only the Breeze and Zephyr had these installed. I had heard that Tiffin was going to start putting this system on the Allegro Buses but pulled the plug on that after the RV market tanked.
We are on our 3rd 5th wheel and the two previous trailers came with slide toppers which we hated. We live in NE Kansas and have a ton of wind here, sometimes well over 50mph. Those toppers were so noisy on both of the previous RV's, and would keep us up at night during higher winds. They even caused the slides to move around more as they would catch the wind. Our last trailer with them suffered failures on both the fabric and it ripped about 12" long on one of them. It failed two years into owning it. I just checked and they have a dealer/installer in Topeka, KS, which is about 1 hour from us, so I just reached out to them. Kent
Sounds like you guys get some serious wind there. We feel your pain on the noise from the toppers! Its horrible. But glad to hear you're close to one of the installer locations and reached out to get more info. 👍
Hi... We have been looking at this and your video is absolutely excellent... You have made it very understanding and in-depth and it is very informative.... We want to thank you very much... your coach is beautiful by the way... We have a DRV mobile suites.... The only question I have ..are the other installers around the nation... Affiliated with the same people that you had years installed.... Again thank you ...stay safe..J&A
Hello 👋! Thanks for watching! Yes, the other installers are certified TrueTopper installers. Kind of like a franchise if you will. The folks in Oregon are the head quarters if you will. So the other installers run their own business, but they are certified and trained to install the true toppers from the folks in Oregon. Hope that makes sense. 😊👍
@@IreneIronTravels thank you for your reply...i just saw all the Misspellings.... I talk to my phone... And it Obviously does not understand what I'm saying....lol... I tell my wife it's a northern phone with a Southern owner... Again thank you for your reply... You guys have a great day...
Two concerns I see right away with this new system. First, our living slide has 2 slight bubble skylights. So the sweeping action wouldn’t work very well traveling across those humps. Secondly, the true topper you showed at the beginning of this video was not removing the pine needles. Hardly at all. But the fact this new topper does provide an amazing water protection both while open and closed along the top of the slide. That being said, I think I’d rather deal with the skylights and have the added water protection this new system provides. How ingenious. And no more wind issues.
Ah yes the skylights would be an issue. Thats interesting to have them in the slide like that...cool! The clip in the beginning with the pine needles is the same clip at the end with the pine needles. I showed the top of the inside slide right after the outside shot and 99% of the pine needles gone! 👍 Its really swept everything so far!
I think a slide topper that could be detached easily when winds are high would be best for the conventional types. This is a good idea, the only issue I noticed was the debris piling up on the top of the awnings and the cost.
Great review Aaron. I think everyone agrees the fabric toppers are work but have issues. I really like the fact the company works to solve issues like refactoring/redesigning a part.
Our trailer has just one small slide. I'll stick with no topper of either type and just sweep prior to running the slide in. I am going to improve my stock slide with some eternabond tape. My stock slide seal tape puckered in a few spots and I'm sure it is still sealing but I do not like the looks of it over time. I do like the product you reviewed and thank you for covering it. Nice job. Take care.
While in transport, do those flanges that “seal” the slide vibrate or shimmy? Will that eventually be a concern? I think we will get this done when we get our trailer! What’s the cost?
They lock in pretty tight with the spring locks. Slides with only track on the bottom will have more movement than dual track systems but should be good either way. $1000-$1500 per slide installed. 👍
Looks like a great product, a bit more masking before cutting would eliminate metal filings everywhere. While cutting you can also see the filings landing on the solar panels, they have to be hot.
That is a very good solution to the #1 slide issue. Question, when the slide is in, is there a latch that holds it down, or is it just spring tension, can you lift it with your hand?
It is just that spring lock I show in the video. It's a pretty simple design and as the slide closes the topper is held by the back of the slide flange and spring lock. You can not lift the toppers when the slide is in. But when in the out position, you can lift the topper up to clean under or inspect. 👍 It's a crazy simple design.
Makes me wonder if we are going to start seeing damage in the slide membrane from these. Thats ok, more work for us mobile RV Techs lol. Thanks for another great video showing us new RV ideas.
Thanks! I had that question too prior to getting them installed. I thought maybe they were only for fiberglass or metal roofs....but the leading edge of "high slip" nylon doesn't make a mark on the membrane! 👍
@@IreneIronTravels it will make for a good update video. Im thinking, depending on the kind of debris, it might have a long term effect of wearing the membrane thin. Pine needles and whatnot being raked across it. But, it cant be any worse than having to go out and smack the slide awning with a broom like I do now lol...
This is very cool! We do not own yet, but great option to the traditional Toppers. You both are great! Have watched your whole journey, and have learned a lot!
@@IreneIronTravels yes! Can’t wait, we are leaning towards the paradigm rear kitchen, or the Brinkley G3500 with the flex space and patio. We also have two dogs, and having the extra space for full timing makes sense to us.
I like the concept my only concern is over time will the flap start to flap while going down the road. I have the slide topper (black) but I can say my slide ceiling is cooler with them than t h e dining room slide that doesn't have one. I just love the finished look of the true topper no chance of ice build up when slide is in, very impressed.
👍 The slide spring locks should keep it in place when the slide is closed. But if for ever some reason you had to replace the spring locks, it's an easy 10 minute job. 👍
I can't help wondering what happens if I need to have the roof of my slide replaced or repaired. I doubt my local RV shop will know how to deal with these or has a tech who's been trained on them. I guess it would take a trip to their factory if you need any work done on the product or on your slide roof. Other than that, looks like an interesting design for a sticky area of RV design.
Wish I'd known you were in the area. Could have shown you the sights, but looks like you were busy. We're small, but have lots of interesting technology in the area. Stop by again!
After seeing the final product and the owner working they did a great job. I am assuming after trimming the slide boxes your warranty is gone from Alliance.
👍. The warranty is only effected if the trimming was determined to be a cause of the warranty issue in question. So for example, if I had a frame issue, electrical issue, or a roof issue, etc this would not affect the warranty process. 👍
Very cool and the company seems first rate amazing craftsmanship it is a very expensive upgrade probably worth it. Thanks for all your videos, tips and information sending you positive energy
Does the silicon wipe seal need to be replaced like wiper blades?? Is the silicone part user friendly? How long does the silicon seal last? Do you know if the Imagine KLS 22MLE is a candidate?
Hello! The wiper seal will probably not ever need to be replaced because it's under the flap and is protected from the sun's UV. But if it ever does it would be a quick 10 minute job if for some reason it got torn or something from a stick, etc. Is your RV the Grand Design XLS 22 MLE? Yes, that would be an easy one slide out RV with no awning or anything in the way. Would look good in the standard black. 👍 Very similar slide out box to our 5th wheel.
Amazing video! If I had slides, this would be a must have! Any thoughts how well this would work on an Airstream Atlas or other class B+ or Class C with slides? Great mod! Congrats!
First off, very well documented and articulated installation. My question revolves around the material being pushed off the top of the slide and into the trough created by the awning and side of the slide. Does traveling at highway speed create enough airflow in that area to blow the material out? Love the product and will definitely look into it if/when we change out our fifth wheel.
I was wondering about that as well. I was thinking if opening the awning once you get to your next destination would remove the debris that gets stuck in there.
Thank you! Yes, that is an unfortunate " natural catch " created by the awning. If we're parked under falling leaves they will fall in there also and add to the build up. But, yes so far traveling has blown the leaves out of there. Or if it's a lot of fallen leaves I'll just unroll the awning before we travel to get them out. You could also blow them out or use a garden hose.
I was very impressed with the installation of these on your Paradigm. We own an Alliance Valor 40V13 and had a Paradigm 390MP prior. They both had slide covers from the Alliance factory. A couple of questions for you. Does this void the Alliance warranty at all? The second question is since we have slide covers which would need to be removed will their installation process also repair the holes where the slide covers mount currently? Great video as well on this process.
Thanks! When I spoke with Alliance about adding aftermarket upgrades to our RV like this, they explained that unless the new item was deemed to be the cause of the problem, then the warranty is still intact. So for example if we had a roof leak after 3 months and I submitted a warranty claim it would be covered if it was found to be something like the AC unit or skylight leaking. But, if it was one of our aftermarket solar panels that caused the leak it would not be covered. And yes, they do have various ways to fix and cover up the holes. They showed me plates they use, or sometimes they can even reuse the trim to cover certain areas. But, hopefully your slide topper brackets are up in the flange that gets cut off. Although, Ive seen them in the sidewall as well. If you send them pics they can go through the exact process on your rig. 👍 Appreciate you watching!
When the old topper hardware is removed, is there any sign of them that you see the old install, or does the "True Topper" cover up the marks from the old topper hardware? BTW, really good video! I just didn't understand how the whole system would work until seeing your video. Also, the cutting of the top flange has been what has stopped me from moving forward. After watching the video I feel more comfortable moving forward on having my RV updated. Thanks!
It can vary depending on where the old toppers are attached to. The sidewall part should get covered up. Some slide out attachments do get covered up or even removed when the flange is cut off. Some original toppers are attached to the side of the slide out. So it might get covered when the slide is in, but might show when the slide is out. They have to get creative with each different unit.
@@IreneIronTravelswow had to watch it one more time. Have never liked the slides because of that. I just always thought it was like a breach of the integrity of the unit that’s why I love the Van. Just so happy that you got that done. My God I’m so close to my ‘Irene’.
Thanks! No, warranties would only be voided if the Topper was at fault for my warranty claim. You do have to be some what diligent with aftermarket accessories, but a good example is if my roof leaked because of a factory defect, my warranty is not void because I put 11 aftermarket solar panels up there. But, if it was one of my solar panels that caused a leak, the factory would not cover it. 👍
Hello! No regrets! 👍 Still loving the system. We do have to keep an eye on the living room side topper because of the awning that is less than .5 inch away. The awning has some play in it so I just watch when moving that slide. Enjoy!! 😊
Aaron, we noticed that the debris on your big slide goes behind the awning when you sweep it off. Can you address that? What actually happens with it all? Does it eventually just drop down? Hard to see in the video. By the way, we found you guys through RV Unplugged and love your videos. Never miss a one. Loved when you went to the Smokies. We live in TN. ❤
Good morning! Yes, actually both of our awnings are natural "catches" for leaves and twigs, so if we parked under a tree with falling leaves it will collect there. It does get exaggerated by the sweep when closing that slide as well. If you had a traditional fabric topper it would drop the leaves in the same area when closing. It's just the design of the RV. So we can either roll the swings out and back in quick to release the leaves, or if it's really bad I can blow them out too. This was up in the PNW during fall so there was lots of falling leaves blowing around! Thankfully we don't see that a lot. We need to go back to the smokies soon! Such a beautiful area.....apprecaite you watching!!
I do get to that at the end of the video. (Long video I know, but I wanted to be detailed on this to show people exactly how they are installed and work) $1000-$1500 per slide installed.
I like the idea of the true topper but all they really do is sweep your slide. They don't cover it. Using the same process and technology it seems that they could manufacture them the depth of your slide and when you bring your slide in it could lap over the slide and cover most of your window. It would be beneficial because it protects the entire roof of your slide room, it would allow water to run off,it would protect your windows from damage while driving and also help protect your interior from the sun fading fabric. Just my thoughts.
I would like to know what you thought about your TT Titanium from Outdoors RV. See I live in New England and drive a lot of state routes tree branches are a problem and so that is why I stay with travel trailers.
@@IreneIronTravels for sure! It would definitely be something I think they should add to the camper instead of the fabric ones. Interested to ask you more questions and see it in person at the Rally hopefully.
I’m wondering how this modification would affect your Alliance warranty. Also I noticed that the topper swept the leaves onto the awning. Is there a chance of mold growing there if left over the winter season?
The way manufacture warranties work is an aftermarket alteration in one area won't affect your warranty in another area. For example if I had an issue with my frame or my roof it wouldn't be affected by an alteration to my slide out. Even adding all of those solar panels don't void my entire roof warranty, unless the issue was determined to be caused by the aftermarket solar panels. The awing actually catches falling leaves from trees if you are parked underneath them. The True Topper did exaggerate that , but all we do is run our awing out and the leaves easily come out. 👍
Yes! Our last awning had a metal case or cover over it that helped protect it from the sun when rolled up and would probably help with debris as well. 👍
How do you like that coffee pot. It's been coming up in our feed. They look interesting. They market them as cordless, but obviously the base has a cord. The topper looks awesome. Do they hold tight while traveling in windy conditions? Great informative video. Hope things work well for you guys.
We love the coffee pot! It’s just a water kettle, but it works off wifi or Bluetooth. So we can heat the water from our phone in bed. Then we do a pour over coffee method. 👍 Yes the true toppers hold tight with the spring locks when closed during travel. 👍
Nice Toppers but one issue I see so far, is the black tape on each side of the ramp, look like eternabond tape, that's not gona hold there for long time with the hot sun, this should be a plastic cap and seal there.
Great video and info. We researched last year and found True Topper even had an appointment in KS for install. We decided to trade in our Renegade Valencia for a Renegade Explorer instead. We haven’t decided if we will invest in True Topper since we aren’t experiencing the wind noise with these Explorer slides. I noticed in your video the debris falling on the window awning below. Have you experienced any issues with this debris collecting?
Thanks! It's funny how some slide toppers seem to be more quiet than others. Or maybe the wind hasn't hit them quite right yet..... But, yes the leaves did build up in the awning during fall in the PNW and the leaves will even just naturally fall into that area from the trees. We just extend the awning out and they fall out. Or if it's just a few they'll blow out during travel. 👍
Do you mean both on the same slide or a different style on different slides on the RV? They wont work together on the same slide, but you could choose to have different styles on different slides if you wanted.
Did I miss the part where the price is given? Nothing on their website, either. When a company won't tell you the price of their product, there's usually a good reason...
Hmmmm - these aren't toppers, they are slide squeegees? We installed custom fabric carefree fabric toppers, they aren't level, sloped, not level, in a neutral color. The only issue is the high wind, which we have come up with a solution that works very well, even under high winds. Being out west and boondocking we wanted some airspace and UV protection from the sun., so we aren't sold. Thanks for the interesting video.
The cost of regular toppers are around $300-$500 and then labor. I've seen quotes for around $700 installed. Our 3 from the factory would be around $2000.
The problem selling them to the manufacturers is they won’t be installed with the same care. The butchers at the manufacturers will just slap them up half assed. These are very impressive.

Great information Aaron. A bonus of having it installed in Oregon is no sales tax.
These look like a great alternative to the traditional topper.
Thanks Frank! Good point!!!
That's a good tidbit to know about purchases in Oregon :)
Agreed! These were on factory Tiffin motorhomes before THOR bought them out. As soon as one picks them up...others will follow! 👍
A joke we would tell is ;
“People in Oregon don’t tan……They Rust.” 😂
Or;
375 people fell off their bikes, in Portland,……and Drowned. 😖😖
🤣 Yes! We love it in the PNW, but we can only handle it for about a month at a time! It was a good water test! 🤣
Hay. It doesn’t rain that much on the east side of the state. The leeward side.
My issue with slide toppers is the wind and also the rain pooling on the topper. Have actually pulled slides in while at the beach because of the wind whipping them. Visited with their sales rep at the FMCA rally in Perry GA back in March and very impressed. Glad to see the video on the actual installation.
Yes, we've done the same in our old travel trailer during big wind storms! Thanks for watching!
Can you send me pictures of your modified topper? That sounds like a helpful project I might need to do.
Love this. And I love how sealed it become when it's closed as well. Really a great looking product. Thanks for sharing
Yes!! 👍Thanks for watching!
I like the idea. Should be less weight, less trouble, less worries, hard to beat. Thanks for the invite.
Nice! I've heard about Tough Top awnings from Jon and Peter. 👍
These guys are doing it right!
We hear ya! Thanks for watching!
I had those put on my 2000 Monaco Dynasty back in May of this year and love them. I am sure you will love them as time goes on even more.
NIce! Glad to hear!!
Looks awesome guys! And Chris you really put your money where your mouth is - working out in a factory during an install had to unlock a new level!! 💪👏🙌
She's got some dedication doesn't she!
This looks like a well designed product that works well in conjunction with the 2 other wiper seals that are already on an RV to keep out all that debris. Something to consider.
Yes! Thanks for watching!!
Aaron, once again you conveyed the ‘technical’ info in an understandable and absorbing way. Kudos👏
Thanks Joan! Appreciate that !
Hi Aaron and Chris 😀
You were absolutely right about the nice people at True Topper. After the first of the year I will have mine installed. I am not comfortable climbing ladders and my trailer doesn’t have a ladder. I am so looking forward to getting this installed. Heidi was so nice and accommodating. Helps I’m not to far away. Thank you I can’t wait!
Hello Cindy! 😊 Thats so great to hear and we're excited for your new upgrade! Happy holidays! 🎄
Thanks!
Well thank you! 😊🙏🏻
I really appreciate your time and effort. I love the product and the quality of the work... It would be great if the manufacturers could install during the building process...
Thanks! And yes agreed it would be great to see these come on standard!
Thanks for your video. Super excited to have these installed this week. Can't wait to see how they work on our rig.
Oh man! Sorry to hear about that horror story! But glad it didn't ruin your take on RVing. 👍 Appreciate the comment.
Looks like it is just sweeping everything into the area between the wall and the black roll? You clean that out separately?
Any idea if would void warranty of slide out if cutting it off? Such smart idea.
This one is great. 👍 I hope they can mass produce this for the major RV manufacturers.
You guys have a great day...
looks like the pine needle still go in, is that bad?
Thank you for the in-depth video. Just heard of these and seen a ref. to your video daisy chaining from True Topper.
I'm sold. Looks great. Love the way they work. 👍
I was also sold when I saw the design. I really wanted to share this one with other RVers! Appreciate you watching!!
@@IreneIronTravels We're in the same park today. Can we come look at your rig???
Yes, you can in about 20 minutes. 👍
Totally agree! Thanks for watching!
I can't wait for that edge to catch
Nice option but won't work for a slide out shade in Arizona to help keeping the sun off the rig.
Nice job. Take care.
Thanks!
Re: TRUETOPPERS SYSTEM, Amazing upgrade, but just out of curiosity, doesn't the flap move in high winds?
Ahhh thanks! We appreciate you following along our journey! It will be an exciting day when you get your RV!
I've been hoping to hear from someone that installed these - Thanks!
Hope the video was helpful. We love em!
Another awesome video production!! ❤
Aaron, we are scheduled to get our True Toppers installed in Belmont, MS right after the Florida State RV Supershow. This is a fantastic idea!
Oh, thats awesome! You guys are going to love them!
Wish I'd known you were in the area. Could have shown you the sights, but looks like you were busy. We're small, but have lots of interesting technology in the area. Stop by again!
Thanks! Yes, it was a short busy stay for us and we didnt get to explore enough!
So, any leaves go on top of your awning? I hope they blow away when you drive. Great product. 😊
Our pleasure! Appreciate you watching !
We've had topper on all of our RV with no issues
Wow, I would definitely have them installed.
👍
Great video Aaron! Definitely very informative!
Glad you liked it Betty! Thank you for watching !!
This method will allow rainwater to enter easily, unlike the sunshade, which keeps the trailer dry
Amazing video! If I had slides, this would be a must have! Any thoughts how well this would work on an Airstream Atlas or other class B+ or Class C with slides? Great mod! Congrats!
Thanks Bruce! Yes, there was actually a Winnebago View class B+ finishing one up when we arrived. It looked great!
Thank you so much for sharing this and for creating a great video!
You bet, thanks for watching! Would look pretty good on your Brinkley.😉
Yes, we do unroll the awing if it gets too built up with leaves! 👍
Thanks for the info and getting back so fast. Safe travels
@barrytobias6921 you bet! Same to you!
Great review! I will files this away for future use.
Glad it was helpful!
Wow, I love it I’m in WA and I would love to take our 5th wheel there I have to check them out thank you guys for sharing/
Nice! Thanks for watching and checking them out!
That’s great for slides! Very interesting thanks
Yes! Thanks Mary!
@@IreneIronTravelswow had to watch it one more time. Have never liked the slides because of that. I just always thought it was like a breach of the integrity of the unit that’s why I love the Van. Just so happy that you got that done. My God I’m so close to my ‘Irene’.
Beautiful product. My question is did this modification void your warranty on your new 5th wheel?
Hi I am about to install the true topper on my RV any regrets yet ? 1/6/24
Hello! No regrets! 👍 Still loving the system. We do have to keep an eye on the living room side topper because of the awning that is less than .5 inch away. The awning has some play in it so I just watch when moving that slide. Enjoy!! 😊
ty
What kind of cost is associated with these?
I do get to that at the end of the video. (Long video I know, but I wanted to be detailed on this to show people exactly how they are installed and work)
$1000-$1500 per slide installed.
The True topper is a great idea and looks great. Good luck with them.
We like it! If you want to go back on our channel we have lots of videos on it!

Very informative. I think you should discuss this more in a class at the Alliance Rally in May.
Oh yes! I think Alliance owners would love this!
@@IreneIronTravels for sure! It would definitely be something I think they should add to the camper instead of the fabric ones. Interested to ask you more questions and see it in person at the Rally hopefully.
It looks like it pushed debris between the camper and awning.
Great idea! I’m surprised most class A don’t already have these?
Maybe one day!
Is the discount good at the Mississippi location? My understanding is that location is located near the Tiffin factory in Red Bay, Alabama
Yes it is! And I do believe that is the location that originally did some of the Tiffin coaches. It is very close to the factory 👍
I noticed the awnings caught the debris as well. They could solve that by adding a flap over the closed awning.
Yes! Our last awning had a metal case or cover over it that helped protect it from the sun when rolled up and would probably help with debris as well. 👍
@@IreneIronTravels thank you so much for the video and information!

Yes the true toppers hold tight with the spring locks when closed during travel. 👍

Nice Toppers but one issue I see so far, is the black tape on each side of the ramp, look like eternabond tape, that's not gona hold there for long time with the hot sun, this should be a plastic cap and seal there.
IT's not tape, it's the fancy adhesive plasticy stuff. See at 10:53 - 11:15mark where they talk about it
BS& BK & BC !! Interesting!!
See How Good It works in 6.Months to A Year.
Could a person use both?
Do you mean both on the same slide or a different style on different slides on the RV? They wont work together on the same slide, but you could choose to have different styles on different slides if you wanted.
Why don't all trailers have these by default? They make so much sense.
Did I miss the part where the price is given? Nothing on their website, either. When a company won't tell you the price of their product, there's usually a good reason...
Most if not all manufacturers probably don’t you’re if you modify it I have actually contacted lance because we have one so be cautious
Thanks for the interesting video.
well done

The cost of regular toppers are around $300-$500 and then labor. I've seen quotes for around $700 installed. Our 3 from the factory would be around $2000.
does that harm your warranty?
No, only if this modification caused an issue. 👍
Seems pretty cool
👍😊
The problem selling them to the manufacturers is they won’t be installed with the same care. The butchers at the manufacturers will just slap them up half assed. These are very impressive.
