You're amazing! A lot of people would get many helpful tips from just this video alone. We used to just buy right before things were due. I know I spent more money because I couldn't find everything I needed for the box on clearance or sale really. You did an amazing job. I'm so impressed. Great video!! I think the biggest takeaway was how important it is to remove packaging. So eye opening to see just how much packaging there is and how much space it frees up for us to remove it! Not to mention that where the box is heading probably cannot manage the waste in the same way that we can here in the states. God bless! 💕
I'm very glad to see your final price. Makes me know I'm not crazy my last shoebox cost over $40! (FYI I did some school supplies out of my stash at home too. We already had plenty of those just from buying for the kids. So totally reasonable that a shopper might "shop from home" a little as well)
Nice work! I think $40 is a very good budget for a box. I just went out today and did on for $20 and it was very very challenging and I had to leave out things I really enjoy adding.

I want to mention something I heard on the Barretos' channel about colored pencils. It has me rethinking what I send. Apparently, a 12 pack of colored pencils is a required school supply in some countries, and she mentioned if possible to send the full set. I guess I always thought of them more as art supplies, and I have also broken up sets previously. Not sure how important it might be in other areas, but thought you might be interested. TFS, your videos are always super informative. I didn't know 5 Below was present all over country. I will have to see if any in my neck of the woods... LOL!
Good point about the colored pencils... I try and watch all of Kayla's videos but I must have missed that one. I need to go catch up. :) I double checked and 5 Below is only in 40 states so It's not everywhere but they do have 1,000 stores. I hope one is close to you, they are really fun for boxes.
yes. I heard her say that colored pencils are exorbitant in cost in her country as well as being required. I too was unaware and have been trying to make them a priority niw.
Hi Robynn, Thank-you for taking us shopping. I loved how you stayed true to your list of shoebox inclusions like two dolls with accessories and a change of outfit. But, I can see where the $$$ add up. It really does pay to shop year round or at least know where you can find local bargains at this time of the year. TFS!

@@mattmanandrobynn Yes. It is mind boggling. And you packed a standard shoebox - not a larger Ikea box. I have packed $1 plush that I found on superclearance. I saw the same plush in a local toy store for $23. This is my store for bargains. I purchase blind bags / store packed lucky-dips for $2. I often get about $6-10 of product, including fidget toys, small plush and stickers.
Thanks you so so much for doing this I just got back from the shoe box packing today in Maryland for 4 days it takes alot of work and our group was there the longest but it's worth it knowing all those kids that will have a smile on their face one thi g I do not recommend just to make it easier for the people that pack the shoe boxes is to not add any big items like the book and note book deffenelly the smaller ones I know u do a good job some people just shove them in there and out a rubber band around it

Yes soap is frequently an issue of concern in the community that’s why I frequently double check the rules from Samaritan’s Purse website. As of right now Nov 2022 Soap is perfectly fine for boxes. 😀👍 thanks for the heads up.

Hi Amy! I’m sorry I can’t go measure it exactly because I’ve already sent it off. 🤪 But I can tell you that the lid of the box was very similar in size to a plastic OCC box. However I am usually able to pack more in an OCC shoebox because of all the indentations on this clear box. I actually think the OCC shoeboxes are a little bigger than this box. It was a really good quality box but I don’t think I will pack with them in the future.

This was great, I have found its almost cheaper to do at least 2 boxes at once because of multipacks:)
Yes, for most of the years I pack 2 boxes usually a boy and a girl box and was able to split lots of items!

Isn't that box bigger then a shoebox? I sent 8 boxes but I wish I would've chose a box that big when filling mine... Just curious...
