@brianherrera1390, it’s a big, fictional galaxy. Lots of material to work with. I’m pleasantly surprised by this show. Also, we still don’t know the full details of what’s up with Jod.
I get the impression that Jod is an ex-padawan who survived Order 66 and lost his way. He no longer practices the Jedi code of behavior, but uses the Force for his own ends, much like a dark Jedi. So, he may think of himself as an ex-Jedi or unaffiliated Force user, but his tendencies are towards a dark Jedi, like Baylan Skull or Asajj Ventress. That's my impression of him.
This is it. He is clearly a Padawan that was lost during order 66. I have heard some say that they think he is faking Jedi powers by using magnetized gloves., but thinking through it he always has gloves on....which this being star was means more likely than not he has robotic hands. I imagine maybe him being in the temple as a youngling and Anakin slicing both hands off ala dooku. Jod clearly knows Jedi teachings which was revealed to us when he spoke about attachments. I am guessing he was left for dead at the temple, escaped off world, adopted by pirates, got some new robot hands, and now here we are.
I am so loving this show. This was exactly the type of Star Wars project we needed. I just hope, if the story is unresolved, that we get a season 2 given the poor viewership numbers.
Jude Law is such an awesome actor…his performance really brings a lot to this show. His character obviously is important to the story but the way the Jude Law plays him is excellent and as the viewer you don’t know whether to cheer for him or hope he gets caught.
Skeleton crew may be aimed at kids but there is something for everyone in this series. From an episode harking back to 80's movies to an apocolyptic survival one and now an Indianna Jones meets pirates of the Carribean episode. The intrigue is keeping us guessing, intterested in what happens next whilst revealing stories of different worlds and charaters. This is great movie making and story telling on a level the Acolyte failed at so miserably. Well done all👍👌
IMDB shows him as being in 4 episodes, but I believe (and may be wrong and forgot him somewhere,) that he's only been in 3 so far. IMDB also doesn't have a listing for Pokkit (Kelly MacDonald) so it may not be fully accurate.
My theory, is that Jod was not a Padawan, but a Youngling during Order 66. His bastardization of the Jedi teachings, feels like he was never fully taught. Every time the Jedi stuff comes up, he's like a kid himself, with the deflections. If he wasn't just raised by survivors.
This episode was my present to myself this Christmas morning, my first Christmas alone in over 12 years, now watching the Meg recap video while in my car, out in the middle of tranquil, peaceful semi-apocalyptic nowhere... the whole series in magical, it made me go back and give the Obi-Wan series a chance and I loved that too... Star Wars needs to be made by those with a true love of adventure, exploration, drama... leave the politics and social agenda of today out and just give us pure Star Wars fun... thank you, Meg

I think Jod is a survivor of order 66, he must have been very small and not had much training. He been on the run ever since, trying to make his life one step at a time. He never made it to the to Jedi status, so he must have been a very young padiwon. His entire world has been filled with violence, and he's used what he had to survive. His story is tragic.
Called it when it came to the secret of At Attin. I thought it was a republic fort knox/mint. The clues were there. 1. The Kids lunch money was incredibly valuable to the outside. 2. The planet was kept hidden with limited outside contact. 3. All the adults were analysts, accountants etc. 4. Remember what the kids were being actually be taught. The instructor was talking about financial flows and currency movements of various planets. I think At Attin still is a functioning mint for whoever the successor state of the republic was. The adults are still doing work for 'the republic'. The Great work continues. The real question is, were they acting as the Mint for the Empire? And who are they Mint for now? The New Republic or the First Order!
Even for a kids show, Skeleton Crew has a rich, layered, tight storytelling style that is so far beyond Acolyte or really anything that we have seen from them in so many years...the writers and makers of this show have IT. I hope Lucasfilm entrusts them with another season of Skeleton Crew and/or more shows in the Star Wars universe.
Merry Christmas. Hope you are having a great day. Great episode. Jod is either a child of a Jedi or raised by a jedi because of order 66. He probably just knows the basic. I think Jod has did what he has done to protect the children. With this episode he has realised that the children are not ready to make the hard decisions, how powerful SM33 can be with who it's captain was and he already knew how evil the ones chasing them is.
Merry Christmas Meg!! I loved this episode!! I predict that the supervisor will turn out to be Tak Renard,SM-33’s original captain. Or at least a descendant of him. It would make sense,he found everything he ever needed on At-Attin. He was hidden from other pirates, all the riches he could ever need,a beautiful planet. He would have no reason to leave!!
I bet he uses it in a swash-buckling pirate-y sort of style, i.e. like the way they used their sabres in films like Pirates of the Carribean. Totally unlike what we've seen before in the SW universe so far.
I actually got a little bit of an Anakin vibe with the younglings there for a second , I know it will play out different , but for a second , I was like ,wow😮 , Jod did just kill all pirates in the acid pool without blinking
Yeah that’s how I see it, too.He did not intend to hurt her but some action was needed to convince the droid who thinks like a pirate.Anyway I‘m really excited so far.Did not expect it to turn out so well.I love that show!
I love how they let our imaginations run wild. So many ways forward and probably a few we can’t imagine. Still feels to me like they will redeem Jod Na Nawood. Don’t think he’ll ever be the Boy Scout some think he will be revealed as, but, like Hans Solo, a bit of a rogue and a bit of a scoundrel. This show has me so looking forward to Tuesday nights.
Happy Life Day! 🎄🎁❄️ The best Easter Egg was seeing the Hutt in the mud bath. Was not expecting to see one, but I'm curious which clan they are part of. Since it had a similar tattoo as the Hutt Twins in "The Book of Boba Fett." Overall, this was a great episode. 👍
This was by far the most cinematic of all the episodes; look, pacing, writing, acting & that true Star Wars essence. It is going to be a very long week till next Tuesday, folks. Two things: his words to Wim are extremely Jedi-like as if he was told these things as a young Padawan. The other, if he was truly diabolical, Jod would’ve outright killed Fern.
It's probable that Jod was a very young padawan during Order 66. However, I'm skeptical. The only Force power he has used is telekinesis and only on metallic objects that could be controlled with magnetics. Like I said, he is likely another survivor, but it's definitely not conclusive yet.
I have absolutely enjoyed this show. I can't wait to share it with my 4 yr old grandson. He is a Dath Vader fan like myself, and I know he'll like this. Merry Christmas to everyone!
I don't think Jod betrayed the kids. He's protecting them. Look at everything they've done so far, especially in this episode. They're constantly acting like what they are, kids. Jod could probably been in and out in no time at all. The kids insisted on coming. Then, when he realized that they were discovered, he tried to rush them, and, again, they were acting like kids. And didn't realize the danger. He also realized, for them to escape safely, SM33 needed to take his orders and follow him. SM33 already stated, several times, they he goes where the captain goes. And that he would do, whatever the captain said. Leaving Fern as the captain was a mistake. When Jod challenged for the captaincy, he could have easily taken out Fern, but he didn't. He could have left them, he didn't. He knows something that we don't yet. But there are lots of clues. By the way, that skull behind the throne is 100% Hondo Ohnaka, or his species. That has something to do with the reason we didn't see what Renard looked like.
I think SM is Captain Rennod. He seemed so outraged about the secret lair turned into fancy pants spa. SM always seem to redirect or place initiative into the people who surrounds him. If I were a pirate...I wouldn't put so much control and things to be interpreted by a droid. So my thought SM is Captain Rennod, but placed a figurehead as Captain Rennod. That is my thought on that.
In Obi-Wan Kenobi mini series episode 3 about 28:46 time left in the show, Kenobi mentions memories of his parents and a brother. Could this be Jod? Just a thought.
@BlueMilkIntelligence this may be a hot take, but I think Andor was a bit uneven. The heist and the prison were perfect but the first and last arc on the factory planet were a little slow
I truly enjoyed both the episode and your break down. The pacing of this show is so incredible. Though Jod turning on the kids was predict, the manner in which he did it was surprising and a bit heartbreaking.
Merry Christmas, Meg! This was my favorite episode yet! Remember, KB knows how to fly the ship, and she may have memorized the galactic coordinates when they flashed in the Captain's log. I believe they escape in the Onyx Cinder, and make it home before Jod, Brutus, and the Republic show up.
I think Jod had to take over ... it was okay to pretend Fern was in charge before, but if they are about to go to at Attin, He needs SM33 to obey him without question or delay ... I guess we'll see .....
There was no reason for Jod to take over! Fern is a million times better Captain and Jod went full-blown evil by what he did to her. He also killed many others in a vat of acid. He also had no right to a Jedi weapon or to teach a partial message of letting go of attachments when he is the most selfish person in the series.
@Pixelkip that would explain where the first order gets funding from... I'm just glad they didn't make a white male a hero. It would have felt like a betrayal.
I think that Jod is a son of a Jedi that was turning Sith , but then when everything fell apart during order 66 he went rogue and became a pirate, handing it down to jod
This was a great ep. The way they blended emotional moments, darkness, and humor was so good. I was glad to see Wim have a bit of a growth moment. I was afraid they were gonna drag that out too long. I think they are doing a good job with the side story with the parents. Other SW shows do the side story, but seemed a bit detached from the titled show. I didn't expect Neel's mom to be the one to have the rebel attitude. There's a shot a few ep's ago where the parents are together, and Wim's dad takes his glasses off at the end of the scene. I got the feeling that he was ready to do whatever it takes to get the kids back. Fern's mom seems like she is, 1. very by the book and believes in the system (even if its a lie). And 2. I think she's afraid of the supervisor, or at least of the repercussions if she breaks protocol. As for Jod, I always thought he was kind of like Ezra. Force sensitive kid, but never met his Kanan. But his words to Wim indicate he must have some jedi academy training, or influence from a jedi. I think 33 will end up saving the kids. He seemed to have some concern in his voice when Jod told him to lock them up. Maybe KB installed a failsafe when she reprogramed him.
12 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
Wim dad did not take his glasses off but his looked was very determined while the rest of the parents were talking.
First of all Merry Christmas Meg. Second I really enjoyed this episode too. So much went on that I know I will have to watch it a second time. I think Jod is a former padawan who survived order 66, or was possibly about to become one when it happened. His force using is raw in a sense and like you said he uses it when necessary to get what he wants. Showing how disparate the parents have become was good too. I think they will find out that not all is as they have been raised to believe about their home world, and it will disturb them.
That episode was a wild Christmas eve treat!! Omg!! I can’t wait for the next episode! How will the kids get home now that Jod has the coordinates out of greed?! 😫 Space Goonies is soooo good!!
I’m thinking that he took command because there is something that, as an adult, he understands and knows about and fern would not. I think it’s gonna end up saving them in the end. Probably the seventh episode.
The captain could be the emperor!… who took over the 1 mint!(Andor is Death Star parts; S Crew is mints; Mando covers Mandos; Asoka the father daughter and son; Alco covers witches;)… “the limb from limb” line of sm33 sounds like something from the original movies!… Could Jod be a sith he knew the light saber was upside down before it was turned on!
I don't believe he actually turns on the kids. Given the situational circumstances, he had to challenge Fern to take command of the situation, and escape their pursuers. Note: He did so via Pirate Code, rather than open mutiny. Big difference... to challenge command, opposed to simply striking her down. He kindly implores Fern to simply yield, so there is no open threat of harm, but she resists due to fear of betrayal. I believe it was a very calculated motion, because he could have taken control much sooner considering his strength. He was definitely trained as a Jedi, and probably between Padawan, and Knight when Order 66 was executed. This forced him into hiding like Obi Wan, and Yoda... due to the distress signal. Keeping his identity hidden was the evolution of his aliases, and despite hiding his Force abilities he was skilled in combat, making the role of Pirate, or Privateer available.
The show has surprised me in a very good way! Initially, I watched the two-episode premiere and enjoyed it, but wasn't a priority to watch every week. However, when I decided to catch up before the release of ep. 5, the show is now a must watch! I'm still cautious, but hopeful this is the beginning of a shift to thoughtful and richer storytelling for Star Warsq.❤❤
When Jod quotes the line you mentioned that comes from Qui-Gon, I was thinking, Qui-Gon didn't have another padawan before he dies in Phantom Menace, and Obi-Wan is with him for a number of years, so I think maybe Qui-Gon heard this from HIS former master, Count Dooku. Which might make Jod another apprentice of Dooku's (in addition to Ventress and Quinlan Vos).
Great episode! I wish one of the kids had the presence of mind to remind SM-33 that they're not pirates, so pirate rules of challenge don't apply to them.
This was my favorite episode by far. I was cackling at all the thinly veiled adult humor like the kids asking what a conqubine is and the implication that the spa and other services offered are, um, adult centered if you catch my drift. And the convo with Whim was actually kinda wholesome. The way he went from uh, how do I handle this? Never mind I’m leaving, to fine I’ll try to comfort you. Hearing him go full jedi was so weird but so interesting. In a way I think he’s a little envious of Whim and his imagination and innocence. And I was not expecting the banking clan to pop up here in this time period. I didn’t even know they still existed. And that end was crazy! I think once Jawd heard about the old republic mint he was like ok enough games. I’m taking matters into my own hands. I do think he’ll get them home though because he’ll be arrested or killed otherwise. Or maybe not. Maybe he tries to help them after being arrested by the new republic? They don’t know he’s a force user so he could probably break out if he needs to. But if he does have regrets they won’t come up for a bit. I also agree that his parents were almost definitely jedi. Though whether he was himself I’m not sure. I also think it’s possible he was taken from his parents at an older age than usual.
Merry Christmas and happy holidays. I'm really enjoying your videos, and I have a lot more to go through, but I'm looking forward to exploring them. Thank you for the hard work and everything you've put into each video.
I can’t believe this show has hooked me Lol I was actually gutted when Jod turned on the kids. Yeah i agree, his mother was a Jedi, which is why he stopped and turned when the kid mentioned his Mother. Jod’s mother is dead and was probably killed, in Order 66 i expect. Maybe Jod was a Youngling, or Padwan. The still shot of a forthcoming episode, of At Atin with the X-Wing, also shows the pirate - black guy with an eye-light-tech thing, so they don’t all die in the acid. Merry Christmas Meg 🎅🏼🎄
Jod COULD be one of those bordeline force sensitives who were selected for training but didn't make the cut (below 9K range?). Probably shuttled off the the agricultural corps or whatever. Could've escaped both the purge and the Empire scouting for would-be inquisitors that way. Could also be 100% bokken, likely trained by the mysterious, and likely related, jedi Nina Nawood, though.
You know, it also got me thinking the mysterious pirate that we saw in the hologram, we couldn't see his face and it got me thinking. What if the supervisor is the captain like that? Would be interesting if that was cause it would make sense like, I mean, if I'm wrong? But if I was right, I would be shocked, but anyways, that's my theory, it's really It feels like that. The supervisor is the the mysterious captain in the hologram
Merry Christmas to all. I really liked this episode Each one seems to get better as the season progresses. And we get to learn more about each character too.
skeleton crew is so amazing lol...i bet jude laws character isn't using the force, probably has a device and I think opening that saber messed it up lol
Yea and they would have thrown him in that prison cell without finding it. It’s a terrible “theory”. Think about it why would a guy want to pretend he’s a Jedi in a time when they were hunted down. If you’re paying attention he’s only revealed this ability to the kids. It’s not a device.
I gotta say, this episode was really good. Like, I really did enjoy this episode. This episode was really good, but also really dark a little bit near the end, and first of all, I knew he would betray the kids. I literally saw it coming when I first saw him in the second episode like seriously, and when he did, I was right and everyone else in this episode to me gets a ten out of ten

I did! Greedo's cousin just at work, no big deal
Who shot first..
Honestly one of the best shows with the lowest hype.
Loved this episode and the whole series. Great Star Wars story telling and acting. Top Notch. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Everyone's just sleeping on the fact that Marge Kettleman is running a hotel in Star Wars that just happens to be hosting the Banking Clan
This is the best live action that star wars has done.
Aside from Andor
@BlueMilkIntelligence this may be a hot take, but I think Andor was a bit uneven. The heist and the prison were perfect but the first and last arc on the factory planet were a little slow
loved the moment Jod/Jack/Silvo/Dash/name of the week ordered the stairwell full of pirates flooded with acid, followed by offscreen screams...
Finally got around to watching this show tonight. What a brilliant surprise! I’m loving the fun adventure of it. Totally hooked!
I loved the episode. Can't wait to see more. Have a happy and safe holiday season Meg.
Merry Christmas 🎄 Meg. ❤ the channel!
Wim's Mom is the Captains concubine which killed him, but survived the crash of The Onyx Cinder
Great that Switzerland found his way into the Star Wars Universum 👍
I truly enjoyed both the episode and your break down. The pacing of this show is so incredible. Though Jod turning on the kids was predict, the manner in which he did it was surprising and a bit heartbreaking.
Merry Christmas, Meg! This was my favorite episode yet! Remember, KB knows how to fly the ship, and she may have memorized the galactic coordinates when they flashed in the Captain's log. I believe they escape in the Onyx Cinder, and make it home before Jod, Brutus, and the Republic show up.
EXAR KUN. The lightsaber is Exar Kun's. It's okay if you're skeptical.
@@SomeTheorist9090 hes probably a sith tbh or dark force user
Wim dad did not take his glasses off but his looked was very determined while the rest of the parents were talking.
Check out episode 3 again. Opening scene where all the parents are talking during the recap. You'll see what I'm talking about.
I'm loving this show! When Wim tried to to ignite the blade was hilarious.
Thanks Meg! Happy Life Day! 😃
I want a Jod spinoff with his own pirate crew.
Happy holidays . Great show
Merry Christmas Meg!
That episode was a wild Christmas eve treat!! Omg!! I can’t wait for the next episode! How will the kids get home now that Jod has the coordinates out of greed?! 😫
Space Goonies is soooo good!!
Do you get the episode on Tuesday?
@ it comes on at 3am EST on Tuesdays. Im not staying up late to watch it. I watch it during the day.
I hope they not showing Jod igniting the lightsaber at the end doesn't mean he is going to bleed the lightsaber red like The Acolyte.
I’m thinking that he took command because there is something that, as an adult, he understands and knows about and fern would not. I think it’s gonna end up saving them in the end. Probably the seventh episode.
I think Jod was a padawan when order 66 went down.
Episode 5 is evidence that Disney does know how to make ‘good’ Star Wars. I am half expecting a bounty hunter Jack Sparrow to walk in at any moment…
So happy this show isn’t a disappointment 😊
I am so excited to know of what will happen next for the next episode of Star Wars Skeleton Crew.
This was a great episode. I’m excited for the next one
MERRY CHRISTMAS MEG!!
🎄🎄🎅🎅
When Jod quotes the line you mentioned that comes from Qui-Gon, I was thinking, Qui-Gon didn't have another padawan before he dies in Phantom Menace, and Obi-Wan is with him for a number of years, so I think maybe Qui-Gon heard this from HIS former master, Count Dooku. Which might make Jod another apprentice of Dooku's (in addition to Ventress and Quinlan Vos).
What can I say, this show is brilliant so far, can’t wait for the next episode.
Really really good!
I really enjoyed this one. Looking forward to the next.
Merry Christmas 🎄
Excellent episode. Looking forward to Jod using that lightsaber
Jod turning on the kids makes this feel not so kid Disney adding a dark side to the story. He said don't make me hurt you and I believed him!
Great Review! 👍
Merry Christmas Meg
Merry Christmas to all. I really liked this episode Each one seems to get better as the season progresses. And we get to learn more about each character too.
Great show!!
This episode was wizard
skeleton crew is so amazing lol...i bet jude laws character isn't using the force, probably has a device and I think opening that saber messed it up lol
I literally saw it coming when I first saw him in the second episode like seriously, and when he did, I was right and everyone else in this episode to me gets a ten out of ten
this was by far the best episode to date
Merry Christmas 🎅 Good Yule lovely Meg ❤❤❤
