As he said in this video it's a kids' show, so he said "not again" so kids wouldn't be horrified that a sentient being gotten eaten by a Hutt for the whole episode.
This episode was so cinematic and colorful. It baffles me how great the ships look compared to the Kenobi show. Also, great Goonies and Indiana Jones vibes!
This episode was an amazing Christmas gift. I can't wait to see where they go next week. The ending was intense and Jod easily stole this episode. Personally I love how he was playing off everything until they implied he was Muun then he just ran for it.
My prediction is that Tak Rennod is still alive (some long lived alien species) and took over the planet after the crash-- we will meet the superintendent next episode, and the show will later review they are one and the same. This would explain the blurred hologram and why they hype the dude up so much.
Jod was probably a lost Padawan who got kidnapped by Pirates. The evidence points to it in my mind, his use of the force is to precise to simply be magnets, he can move objects in a very natural way.
Well, prior to this episode the key was the only thing he moved, as well as making the noises to distract the guards and sense people around corners (but not the ball droid), all in episode 3. As the kids said, that could have been a trick.
@@sandal_thong8631I think by this point, given his statement on attachments, it's practically a given that he is in fact Force sensitive and at least was given an introduction to Jedi philosophy before ending up with pirates. Maybe saved by a pirate captain from imperials after order 66 and raised as a pirate, eventually becoming captain himself? Maybe simply captured and conscripted as a cabin boy and just grew into it eventually taking over as Captain. Either way it's definitely an interesting thing to ponder. I'm looking forward to each next episode more and more.
@@shrapnelbmg6267 yeah that makes a lot of sense especially when he knows direct Jedi sayings like “Your focus determines your Reality.” He’s pretty familiar with Jedi Culture.
@sandal_thong8631 yeah, I probably just missed it. I thought it was odd they didn't show his face. Or maybe he was "killed." It's been fun theorizing about the show.
I think the crashing of the pirate ship on AtAttin should be decades ago, if not centuries. So i doubt the old captain lives at all. And accumulating wealth without using it sounds strange. Only if there is a secret connection to outer space we haven't heard of. To me it seems that the old captain tried to protect AtAttin rather than plundering it.

The fact episode 5 of Skeleton Crew felt more like a Indiana Jones story than the new Indiana Jones movie is a horrible indictment on Lucas Film.. but I’m enjoying this show, it’s a really cosy series
It would be very Disney if the old captain rennod was actually a droid and that's why they hid its face and it's also the supervisor of at attin now building up decades of reserves of credits until it can finally return to the galaxy as the richest overlord imaginable
Immediately thought after watching that I just saw "Kiddie Andor" considering how this episode began & ended. Great Christmas/Chanukah 🎁 to Star Wars Fans IMO 😃 Happy Holidays & Continued Blessings to you & yours 🙏🏾
Most people thought they'd have to go to another At- planet to find the coordinates in its tower. Also, since it ended on the planet, At Achrann, some thought there might be more to do there. Since those credits are so valuable, Jod sure gave a lot to that hostess to protect his identity and give them a room; but she didn't do much of anything to earn them. He might have tried bribing that other woman; due to her deal when he gets away, she'll get nothing. There's supposed to be some kind of beast they have to encounter soon; maybe it's still alive underground all these years? Looks like the parents are showing some initiative. We can expect a message from Fara to the kids on the ship, from the trailer. I thought it might come down to the kids not going home to protect At Attin. But now that Jod and SM-33 know where it is, they probably have to go home and warn the supervisor they're coming.
If i remember this scene from the trailer correctly, the message of the parents to the kids was recieved by the pirates. Maybe they gave too much away with it.
Well we know you're crazy. It did feel like the best episode so far. After a second viewing of last week's episode things settled in more. It did seem like the two tribes had been at it for so long that the overall vagueness seemed to work. Could definitely tell for sure that the Troik's leader did not have the best intentions for the new kids.
They could have done something more with that episode. Like have both scouting parties be made up of kids. Or the kids use conflict-resolution they learned in school to negotiate a peace between the tribes. (Other than K.B. they seem pretty useless, don't they have any skills other than accounting?) We didn't see the tribes shoot each other or kill, so I thought it was a farce. But it's a kids' show so they decided not to show it. We also don't know how Jod got the animals, so we just have to go with what he said, which violated the rule, "Show, don't tell."
I was willing to give them some leeway since it had me in the nostalgia's. Reminded me of some of the TV shows I watched in the late 1970s and 1980s when it came to the basic information.
@sandal I guess they were using mainly nonlethal weapons. Otherwise i doubt that the general would have sent his daughter in the first line nor would she have been so stupid to volunteer.
On the one hand, I like that her betrayed the kids. On the other hand, I don't understand why he felt the need to do that. He still has to go to At-Atin, and he doesn't know where the mint is on the planet. He also doesn't know how he will rob it. Take the children, drop them off, Then lay low until he can plan the heist.
This is Treasure Island set in the Star Wars universe. Remember, Jod was originally Captain Silvio, which is a reference to Long John Silver. That’s why it’s so fun. It’s a classic story, told a different way.
This was by far the most cinematic of all the episodes; look, pacing, writing, acting & that true Star Wars essence. It is going to be a very long week till next Tuesday, folks.
Thor, do you think is possible that Jod most likely used a force mind trick or killed the warriors of the other tribe in "At Achrann" to get the animals back? Because he still had the credits with him and in the episode is said that they only traded with "off-worlders" for ammo and weapons with their pelts.
I thought that was a possibility. Now that they left the planet, there's no way to tell. Since it's for kids, they're toning down the violence after the first episode.
My guess: the captain is the supervisor, or he had programmed the supervisor. And we couldn't see his face now because we will first see the supervisor before it is going to be revealed in the last episode.
Yes!!! This episode was fantastic and enjoyable from beginning to end. This show is, dare I say it, possibly heading towards greatness? Fingers crossed.
Maybe it's just me, but it makes no sense to hide the planet (/planets?) where you mint credits. Either you stop using that currency - which as far as we know isn't the case - in which case you can just shut down the Mint (or repurpose it if you switch to a new kind of credit). Or you still use the currency in which case hiding the planet and having little to no contact with it make no sense since you can't access to your credit mints. Hopefully the full explanation makes some sense.
Well I’m assuming the republic at the time had access and communication with it but things have since changed. And it makes total sense tbh to hide where the money comes from.
The CIS created security droids and droid armies. The droids we see with intelligence may actually be sith or jedi who been bolted into a prison like Darth vader.
I agree that this episode was good. Last week's episode was actually my favorite episode so far. Anyways, thanks for some Christmas content. Merry Christmas.
6:47 coincidentally, the new Star Wars book, the living force, kinda addresses the question of if their method of taking kids from their families was a good idea.
My only gripe with this episode, and it is a very minor one was when Jod seemed surprised at whose ship he's been travelling on this entire time. He knows about Rennod being a legendary pirate who disappeared while on a quest to look for At Attin yet he was unable to make the link without SM-33 overtly saying it. It reminded me of Wallace feom Wallace and Gromit when Feather McGraw reveals himself. Seemed a wee bitty daft but again it's only a minor gripe in a very, very good episode.
Yes , I agree , this week’s episode was solid . The mystery deepened, we have character development, I’m definitely entertained! Can’t wait for next week!
You pointing out that this episode felt complete, like it had its own story to tell, is why I am so glad to have cut the cord with Disney. That an episode of premiere SSF television should feel complete and be >30 min long should be a given, not a bonus 🤦🏽
The kid igniting the lightsaber upside down was fucking priceless. The girl messing with the pipe to attack the guards was ridiculously convenient but oh well. I'm having a hard time with the fact it hasn't come up between Jod and the kids at any point, what time period they're in. I dunno. We'll see. I'm liking this show though. Could be better, but my qualms with it are pretty small, and I'm enjoying it.
Although we don't know Jods age we know that Jude Law is 51. Anakin was 45 when he died in Episode 6 so Jod could very well be a Jedi. I am guessing he is way younger in the show but he could have been a youngling when Qui Gon was still among the living.
For me, the Hutt eating the sentient servant being was the most horrifying moment in this episode, more than the spikes or acid. :( In fact it's probably one of the most horrifying moments in all of Star Wars.
While it seems like they don't know what's going on 1. Ferns Mother's attaire is just way too close to New Republic government aesthetics like that of Mon Mothma. 2. Fern's mother does seem to know a way to communicate with the outside (ie: she mentions something about "proper channels", I believe.) 3. Do we really believe that At-Attan can sustain itself without any resources from somewhere else? I'm not saying that any of the kids parents necessarily know what's going on the galaxy, but I also am not convinced that there is zero contact with the outside world and that the droids don't use middle men to get things needed for the planet's ongoing surval.
Called it when it came to the secret of At Attin. I thought it was a republic fort knox/mint. The clues were there. 1. The Kids lunch money was incredibly valuable to the outside. 2. The planet was kept hidden with limited outside contact. 3. All the adults were analysts, accountants etc. 4. Remember what the kids were being actually be taught. The instructor was talking about financial flows and currency movements of various planets. I think At Attin still is a functioning mint for whoever the successor state of the republic was. The adults are still doing work for 'the republic'. The Great work continues. The real question is, were they acting as the Mint for the Empire? And who are they Mint for now? The New Republic or the First Order!
Gotta say, Jude law really makes the show for me. Its a kids show and I am not a kid anymore so I probably are not intended audience but I appreciate they are trying to make family shows again.
Definitely the best episode so far. I have a hunch that it's going to be revealed that Jod is a padawan/youngling who survived Order 66. I can totally see him going on a rant in front of Wim about how the Jedi's morality and selflessness (along with their hubris) ultimately led to their downfall. I also think that Brutus and his crew are going to attack At Attin in the last episode (the trailers show the pirates intercepting a transmission from Fern's mom, so they probably trace it back there), and Wim is going to have to convince Jod to become a Jedi again (or at least temporarily) to save the planet.
A glamorous resort world hiding a shady secret, a lonely boy dreaming of Jedi adventures, mutinies and shifting loyalties...it's like this episode succeeded where 'The Last Jedi' failed. Way to subvert our expectations!
My thoughts: 1) “Your focus determines your reality, You have vision, embrace it, Make your life the one you want to live”-Jod 2) I was hoping the rat was the old captain 😂 3) Skeleton Crew works where The Acolyte doesn’t due to a consistent continuity 4) Will we see the reaction of At-Attin residents when/if they find out the Old Republic no longer exists?
7:00 there is a big difference between ‘detachment’ and ‘non-attachment’. Detachment implies apathy and an avoidant attachment style. Non-attachment implies that a person is secure in their relationships to things/people/beliefs etc and therefore does not cling to material things. The Jedi practice non-attachment, rather than detachment which I think has become a MAJOR misconception in the fanbase and even among certain writers, leading to shows like The Acolyte where the Jedi way is portrayed as inherently flawed. The Jedi way is not flawed, it is how the Jedi followed the way that was flawed in the prequels and led to their downfall. Just wanted to clear that up for everyone and maybe start a discussion! :)
I think the captain got to At Attin, saw that it's peaceful and instead of plundering it, decided to blend in and live his life in peace. Maybe it'll turn out that Wim's dad is the captain.
This episode is the best so far of the series, season 1. I'm a child of the 80's & I was getting vibes of Indiana Jones & The Temple Of Doom Meets The Goonies Meets Pirates of The Carrabieen Curse of the Black Pearl To have the mystery solved & to learn the sole reason why the planet of At Attin is important felt like finding the biggest piece of a puzzle. Jude Law absolutley blew my mind. Im loving his character. I believe he was a Jedi in training as a Youngling in the past was a Jedi whom became disillusioned & was expelled from the Jedi Order & became a pirate. At the end of the episode, when he uses the force to grasp the Lightsaber in hand he looks upon the weapon with a sight, that to me suggests he has held one before & used it well in combat. I suspect forthcoming episodes will show that Jod Nar Narwood has exceptional lightsaber skills. I hope Skeleton Crew remains a self contained star wars series, one that ties up the adventure story in all 8 episodes of one season. It would be a breath of fresh air to see it end in such a way I hope the series does not blow out into numerous seasons & crossovers. This series has magic, and it's very enjoyable to watch. 😃
What we know from Disney and Lucasfilm is, that nothing of what they are doing now will have anything to do with what they will do in the future. Dont care for any mystery too much. It doesnt matter for the next STAR WARS-projects.
i don't think he's using the force. i think we've only seen him "force move" things that are metallic, so I suspect he has some sort of magnetic manipulator.
Some examples are the cliff hanger, the lightsaber and Jods turn felt sudden but I guess we aren't the first people he has betrayed. Pretty sure he's an order 66 survivor.
Probably the best episode so far, 8.5/10! I'm interested to see what happens next. I believe the next few episodes will be good as well. I recommend people watch the show
I can't feel like watching it. I feel so violated and traumatized by Disney, I don't want anything more from them. The magic died for me. Somethings shouldn't ever be done when they are done the holiness and innocence just dies.
@JackJohnson-hk3dd I just can't care about it anymore. It's like you and how I don't care you are d or alive. It's something that exists but I just don't want to interact with.
@JackJohnson-hk3dd and yes at one point it was one of the most important things in my life, star wars not you, and now I can't give a f anymore. I just wish it could not exist anymore, like I wish the same for you.
This was the best episode. So Jude Law's character reaches out for the lightsaber and the episode ends immediately like at the end of The Force Awakens. Does he catch it and ignite it, or does he drop it on the floor, a la The Last Jedi?
I like this episode as well. Jod stole the show. I liked the tension and that the planet is a mint making money 💰. Now I hope the next episode is just as good
They're not shipping anymore. It's probably s thousand years stock pile of credits. This is probably how the first order or Palpatine funds themselves!
not much happened in previous 4 episodes and they are what, ~45 minutes each? That is a full movie and half. I did not notice much of character development and plot did not move much, always at the end of episode suddenly followed by credits... episode 5 being better is fine but is it a good sign for disney wars?
Somehow I just realised I havent picked up any negativity towards this show at all. Somehow I havnt realy thought about KB's parents beeing two women untill I rewatched the episodes with my wife and realised there was no hate bcs of this. In the past people would be extremly toxic about this sort of things (acolyte comes to mind) but this time around there is nothing at all...
Hey Thor. With all due respect, I don’t know why you feel the need to keep calling this a “kids show”. The “mature” content is at least on par with the OT, and it matches the more brutal aspects of the PT. In other words, I see nothing about this show that explicitly makes it more “for kids” than anything from the mind of George Lucas.
At attin half reminds me the US country sides (that are horrible to my European sensibilities, sorry) and the 2nd half is a part of Prague, that I live in and whole area going out to the edge and outside straight South by bus including a school there in the way.

I'm having a hard time with the fact it hasn't come up between Jod and the kids at any point, what time period they're in. I dunno. We'll see. I'm liking this show though. Could be better, but my qualms with it are pretty small, and I'm enjoying it.
Does this show take place post Return of the Jedi?
yes
Maybe the past captain was reborn as "The Supervisor" and the security robots are his new crew - they're all in on it. Meanwhile, "The Daniels..."
Although we don't know Jods age we know that Jude Law is 51. Anakin was 45 when he died in Episode 6 so Jod could very well be a Jedi. I am guessing he is way younger in the show but he could have been a youngling when Qui Gon was still among the living.
Dude, pronounce his name right, it's driving me crazy.
For me, the Hutt eating the sentient servant being was the most horrifying moment in this episode, more than the spikes or acid. :( In fact it's probably one of the most horrifying moments in all of Star Wars.
While it seems like they don't know what's going on
1. Ferns Mother's attaire is just way too close to New Republic government aesthetics like that of Mon Mothma.
2. Fern's mother does seem to know a way to communicate with the outside (ie: she mentions something about "proper channels", I believe.)
My thoughts:
1) “Your focus determines your reality,
You have vision, embrace it,
Make your life the one you want to live”-Jod
2) I was hoping the rat was the old captain 😂
3) Skeleton Crew works where The Acolyte doesn’t due to a consistent continuity
4) Will we see the reaction of At-Attin residents when/if they find out the Old Republic no longer exists?
Jude Law with a lightsaber now? Awesome!
I'm a child of the 80's & I was getting vibes of
Indiana Jones &
The Temple Of Doom
Meets
The Goonies
Meets
Pirates of The Carrabieen Curse of the Black Pearl
To have the mystery solved & to learn the sole reason why the planet of At Attin is important felt like finding the biggest piece of a puzzle.
It would be a breath of fresh air to see it end in such a way
I hope the series does not blow out into numerous seasons & crossovers.
This series has magic, and it's very enjoyable to watch. 😃
Look forward to watching this episode. Jude Law’s character seems to be a chaotic neutral who is out for himself.
Called it being a old republic mint!
Jod: don’t touch anything its trapped.
Wim does exactly that with the lightsaber and nothing happen?
Plus, whos lightsaber is it anyway?
What we know from Disney and Lucasfilm is, that nothing of what they are doing now will have anything to do with what they will do in the future. Dont care for any mystery too much. It doesnt matter for the next STAR WARS-projects.
All I need to know is if Jack Sparrow makes an appearance next week?
i don't think he's using the force. i think we've only seen him "force move" things that are metallic, so I suspect he has some sort of magnetic manipulator.
I am concerned about the next couple of episodes. ep 5 set up some things that im not sure how they can pay it off.
Some examples are the cliff hanger, the lightsaber and Jods turn felt sudden but I guess we aren't the first people he has betrayed.
Pretty sure he's an order 66 survivor.
@@ryanb9749I don't think it was sudden at all. The kids were warned to never trust him, and he got exactly what he wanted
@@ryanb9749Jods turn wasn’t sudden at all it was literally hinted at in every episode since he showed up
@@oXRaptorzXoindeed. It'll be a bigger plot twist if he has a redemption arc.
You could say they're "on program" but I really liked this episode
At attin can be one of the predecessors of the Intergalactic banking clan.
i think the galactic banking clan was in kotor right? the hiding of at attin seems to be something that happened afte rthat
@fruitylerlups530 Why?
I forgot this show existed. And I've been watching all the episodes. For free. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
You are very dramatic lol star wars has always had flaws and potholes, think people have let there nostalgia tint there glasses rosey
Any chance these coins will be used by Palpatine to build the fleet that was hiding in Exegol??
My prediction is that we will get 3 more episodes.
Hutt in the Sun.
I had a hard time with this one. I will leave it at that.
The impaling was post-death though😅
This was the best episode. So Jude Law's character reaches out for the lightsaber and the episode ends immediately like at the end of The Force Awakens. Does he catch it and ignite it, or does he drop it on the floor, a la The Last Jedi?
tell me im not crazy but the securerty droids in at attin sound like crossair from bad batch
This episode was soooo goood!
Hey Thor! Recover my hope😂
But yeah - unlike The Acolyte, I actually went back and caught up on these episodes after the 3rd episode.
I like this episode as well. Jod stole the show. I liked the tension and that the planet is a mint making money 💰. Now I hope the next episode is just as good
If they are printing money at At Attin, how are they transporting them to the galaxy?
They're not shipping anymore. It's probably s thousand years stock pile of credits. This is probably how the first order or Palpatine funds themselves!
It finds a way. A cargo was dropped in space.
Does anybody else get that Goonies vibe from this show.
not much happened in previous 4 episodes and they are what, ~45 minutes each? That is a full movie and half. I did not notice much of character development and plot did not move much, always at the end of episode suddenly followed by credits... episode 5 being better is fine but is it a good sign for disney wars?
Betsy Kettleman!
Wheres hondo onaka?
I just don’t care, started watching, because I was curious on my TV. Ended up watching a Short about Trainspotting with Ewan McGregor on my phone.
Jod not Jode
I’m getting tired are the Jedi evil narrative, there training nuclear weapons not to explode one missed one ruined the galaxy twice.
I guess the lack of politics.
i felt that is another STAR WARS MOVIE enlongated to made a tv series..and i found a lot of filler and glaciar pacing
At attin half reminds me the US country sides (that are horrible to my European sensibilities, sorry) and the 2nd half is a part of Prague, that I live in and whole area going out to the edge and outside straight South by bus including a school there in the way.
