    I'm currently vegan, I eat a lot of fruits & vegetables.. But I also love bread, pastas, rice, couscous, quinoa.. And I don't think I could ever be fully raw. 70% of my diet is fruits, vegetables & nuts. So I think I'm doing pretty well, I lose weight and I feel more energized. But you are really brave to do this, congrats! :)

    Everyone eats differently. She can eat like that because she's an athlete...and athletes burn off calories like crazy. If regular folk ate like her, we'd be in the hospital. Don't try to eat like her, eat according to how your body feels. We're all different.

      We sure are, I don't know about you but if did this for one day I'd be asking for a hamburger in my sleep that night, and I was once told by a nutritionist, who was certified, that he had people who were vegans for many many years and they all eventually developed health issues as a result of a long term deficient diet, you need good protein from meats, fish, chicken, and eggs, the antibiotics and hormones from these things are another story, but we as humans need some of those clean meats for protein and many other nutrients

    I agree with alot of people that this would be a very expensive way of life, but keep in mind that you should choose seasonal fruits, as it will cost less. Furthermore, eating throughout the whole day is actually the best way to go. I think that these are very banal meals for her, but keep in mind that you can also let lentils soak and they will be tender enought to eat, or some pasta will also cook this way. I have a question for Christina : do you drink tea or coffee? What about dairy products?

    I don't know how good this raw thing really is. I was doing okay for the week until yesterday when I tried to add more protein to my diet and ate chicken. I feel kind of sick. I know you can do sushi too but I am scared that might make me sick too. I will stick it out though since I know its healthier for me.

    I would recommend to everyone the MODERATION diet- this is the best diet ever. If one wants to live longer and healthier- it is not a rocket science, is it really? Another very important factor is exercise, which has proven can help one to live longer and healthier. Moderation + exercise= Good health! Take care everyone... please continue eating protein, carbs and vegetables in moderation!

    Thank you Kristina! I just found you as I am completing a month fast of no meat. I decided that my last week I want to try a fully raw diet because I found you and your spirit just shines so bright and your IG has so many beautiful pictures of bright yummy looking foods LOL. Thank you for all the work you've been doing all these years. I'm so glad I finally found you and I hope I will find more people like you to help me on this new journey. I have certainly not yet committed to eating no meat for the rest of my life but now that we're in quarantine I am so blessed that I have an opportunity to put in the necessary time required to break the habits that I've known since birth! For the last 5-6 months I had been having severe hive breakouts from eating seafood. Once I finally realized what was causing it, I stopped. I also just recently started dancing professionally last year and I'm now pursuing acting full time as well. Plus, I know that both of my parents have been diagnosed with diabetes within the last 5 years or so. So I'm probably very high risk for having diabetes as well. Therefore, It is only right for me to look into ways that I can improve my eating habits. I'm from the south so I LOVE unhealthy and indulgent foods haha Discovering new meals and finding out what I like is the best way for me to ease into a healthier diet....You are such a blessing! I just wanted to show my appreciation for the many archives you have provided for people like me who are simply ignorant to a much healthier and happy lifestyle. :))

    Go to the farmer's market and buy in bulk. I normally pay about $12 for box of oranges containing over 100 oranges. It cost me about a $1.50 per monomeal of oranges. One time I also paid $20.00 for 40 mangoes and I typically eat 4 per meal, so that's $2.00 per monomeal. Don't just think of grocery shopping at grocery stores, go to the farmer's market, that's where the real savings happen! I've spent as little as $31 in a week eating fully raw, you just have to shop around and ask questions.

  • @Mary777
    @Mary777 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I agree with some of the others on here that when you are on a fixed income it's hard to afford all of the food that she recommends regardless if you get it from your big named store or local farmers market. No matter where you live too, and for someone who lives in an apartment like I do it's also hard to grow your own crops of any kind. I would be willing to go partly vegan/raw but I don't know if I could ever go all the way as I also do like other stuff that don't fall into those categories.

    Hi, Kristina Barker! My name is Ani and I'd like to give you a piece of advice how to lose weight. What I do is following the wise peoples' sentence:" Eat breakfast as a king, lunch like a prince, dinner like a pauper."The main reason for getting fat is the big dinner, when the metabolism gets slower. I eat vegan food, not only raw, drink a lot of water between the meals, and do sports. All that is an easy and not expensive way to keep the body healthy and vital. I wish you success!

Im a vegan aspiring to be raw, I eat alot of fruit and veggies already but struggling a bit with costs (in the UK) and dont have access to markets or wholefood salers, which is a bit disheartening because I do believe people thrive best on 8/1/1 lifestyles. So thanks!

    Would you suggest blending our fruits and veggies in a blender? I love making smoothies for breakfast. Also don't you think the pulp/fiber from the veggies have a lot of nutrients in it that you are missing out on?

  • @BoadieMcLeod
    @BoadieMcLeod 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    I tried the 80/10/10 diet. It totally messed up my blood sugar and caused me to gain five pounds. Then I switched to 75 percent green smoothies, so I had mostly greens and less fruit. I've now lost a total of 65 pounds, and my blood sugar is stable. I eat lots of kale which is high in protein. I often eat an entire avocado in a day. In my my opinion there is nothing wrong with fat and protein. You don't have to try to live on fruit. But anyway, everybody is different. I love your veggie recipes.

    Don't let anyone stop you! I went vegan over two years ago and haven't looked back. Try watching Forks Over Knives, it's a very informative documentary, then have your family watch it. All in moderation is how you stay healthy. Balance is what's important. bit of veges, bit of fruits ,bit of grains ,bit of nuts, bit of meats bit of everything is what's actually healthy.

    What do you use to juice? Like the cantaloupe, do you use a blender or a juicer? The pulp important or not?

    I do believe that being fullyraw is the most optimal way to eat and live. Take time to adjust because it could be detox. Without knowing you or getting to further discuss your past history, I cannot really make recommendations here.... but the video gives good guidance! Be gentle with yourself and take it one step at a time! hugs!

    Yes, Helenalala, this is EXACTLY MY POINT. I do not like such opinion that eating 80% fruits will heal EVERYBODY ON THIS PLANET and will make them look thin, beautiful etc. We are all human beings and as we are all different so are our needs too in every single moment of our life. One can eat only meat and manage to be in perfect form, others train a lot and eat tons of sugars. The idea is to find our own balance and stick to it when that is possible...

    I love the beautiful colors in the assortment of fruit you have! I am in the weight loss arena. So I am not counting calories right now, but just eating when hungry! I do grab fruit so often since it is easy. Smoothies are great when fruit heavy.

    I have a busy day too as a first grade teacher. I blend a big green smoothie which has fruit and greens and I drink it for lunch. That way it's pre-chewed! For recipes google green smoothie or Victoria Boutenko. Hope this helps.

    That is so much food!!!! I could probably only eat your dinner through out the day and be satisfied. It also makes me cringe to think about how much all that cost for just one day.

    hi kristina. thank u very much for this beautifully colourful and positive video!!! :)
    my problem these days with staying fully raw, is that especially at night my head pressure (which is one of the reasons that i am wanting to go raw, in order to free myself from it) gets really bad and so last night i researched a little on what nutrients the brain needs and one important one was komplex carbohydrates eg from whole grain products. any thoughts on this statement??

    CSAs, Food co-ops, container gardening, grow your own vegetables, WOOFing, Farmers Markets... There are a lot of options to get raw vegetables. You just have to go looking for them in your local area. See if you can buy from your local farmers. There are ways to do it very cheaply and economically. You can do it! Don't give up!

    An easy solution is to find the inexpensive produce in bulk in your area. Many of these items are not as expensive in the states. The video gives a visual of quantity. Apply that to what you are eating too :) Don't give up! There are SO many options! hugs!

    There are few things I would like to ask you:
    1. Do you have kids that are sharing your meal or you are still devoted to the sport hobbies and raw food?
    2. Have you ever thought about the financial part of the problem that most people have when searching for raw ORGANIC and tasteful fruits?
    3. What about the seasonal eating - don't you think that eating a melon or whatermelon in winter might confuse your body digestion?

    Just keep plugging along and don't say anything about what you are doing. Before long they will see the change and begin to ask you questions. Don't try to convince them of your new way of life, just answer questions as simply as you can. Seek out others who are living the same life style for support You can do it.

    Hi Kristina! I like your videos. I can see myself eating what you presented in this video. The only thing is I would have to work on eating that HUGE salad at one sitting. I probably would have to fix it and eat it through out the day with my fruits and add some of the greens to a smoothie as well. Thanks for sharing. This is a great start for a newbie like me.

    I'm glad to hear, that I am not the only vegan here in Denmark - must admit, that I feel pretty lonely sometimes (: Definitely would try to order something from solhjulet - together and I think it's a great idea to tell them to leave the fruits to ripen longer on the trees. Let us try it!!

    Go to your doctor and ask for prescription prilosec. Before i went raw i was not allowed to eat oranges or tomatoes or anything super acidic becasue of my stomach ulcer. My doctor prescribed me prilosec and now im a fully raw vegan and have no problems :) good luck
