    I've seen the comments regarding how expensive eating organic foods and to tell you the truth, it's less expensive than paying premiums for health insurance. Just think about how much you are preventing health issues as you age. It's amazing how people don't invest in themselves like they do in a car, a house or vacations! Wow!
    Thanks Kristina for the journey and your knowledge of longevity. Peace and blessings to you and your staff at Rawfully Organic Co-op.

    EvelineUK Bel Dym She eats more because she runs up to 8 miles a day so she needs the extra food. What I've done to not over do it or overload my fridge or wallet is to take her meal plans and adjust them down to how much I know I can eat and can afford (or find). It's worked well for me. I am still able to do her recipes just scaled down and if I have left over my kids and Hubs have no problems helping me eat the food.

    Thanks Kristina for bringing joý to us - yours were the very first You Tube entries I saw when I decided to go raw (since last July) - I went fully raw in one day and haven't looked back. I am very glad that you brought this 21 day challenge so I can tweak any rough edges I may have. I like to think of everyday as improving myself in all aspects and feel going raw was the first step.

    I'd like to change my lifestyle but I don't know if I could assume a fully raw lifestyle. I feel like I need warm and salty (not too salty but salty anyway) meals...
    I live in a cold country and in the winter, it feels so good to have something warm to eat.

      Tony R. While there are certainly foods that will stain your teeth like berries and beets, there are also foods rich in iron like green vegetables which helps form an acid-resistant film or barrier that can help scrub away stubborn stains and protect the enamel on your teeth. Pineapple is a natural stain remover, and apples, pears and guavas increase salivary production which flushes away stains over time.
      Drinking water will help with the stains as well...

    I would really like to begin eating this way, but I'm a college student always gone and always broke. One pint of blueberries costs like 3.99 or so where I live, so eating 3 pints is about 12 dollars for one meal. Do you have any tips on how to eat this way on a budget? Thanks!

    Thanks for sharing. I think its a lot more realistic and easy to do when you live in a warm climate. I live in the UK and I started last April after watching "whats eating you" boy it was an eye opener and turned my right off meat. I did well throughout the summer but when we got to the real cold weather in the winter I had to have hot cooked food. I remained vegan. I would have a one hot meal during the day or evening. I still packed in my green juices and smoothies and ate lots of fruit . Its hard to keep this life style fully raw if you live in a freezing cold climate and where there is very little organic fruit & veg. When its very cold and wet the last thing you want to eat is a floppy cold salad. With all the community online the most success has come from those who live in a warm climate all the time. by the way we don't have the whole foods market in the UK and most of our farmers are not organic. So we do our best and I have certainly felt better than I ever did eating meat. Thanks for all your inspiration Kristina you were my first person I found, that I love all your recipes. If your just starting just do the best you can. You cant expect to do what Kristina does because she has free access to the farmers at her co op. Good Luck, You will get all the benefits from eating fruit and veg in the long term.

      Same here, I live in Amsterdam, Netherlands. When it's cold, I long for tea, or soup, or pasta... Now, I am making lots of soup in my soupmaker, which cooks the veggies no longer than 15 minutes max. (Cornsoup, carrotsoup, broccolisoup, etcetera, all smooth). Am hugely inspire by Kristina still :-D

      Gerry Gold I just want to say that most small towns and bigger towns have organic stalls on certain days I AM able to get most things in my local organic outdoor stall also we get a lot of stuff at tescos . they do a lot of organic fruit and veggies that are the same price as non organic or maybe just a bit more like a bag of carrots is a £ mushrooms a £, 10 or 12 apples for 3 £ . a bag of red onions you guessed it a £ a bag of spinage is £ 1.50 lettuse, cucumbers, bricalli, and celery all a £ so their is a lot of organic food you can find so eat , organic as much as poss, if some is not organic wash them in a wash of white vinagar and bacarbin of soda to help clean off some of the toxins and chemicals can you dig it PRO-PEACE

    • @bluelotus232
      @bluelotus232 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Gerry Gold I also live in temperate climate, and I had to start this lifestyle in winter due to health issues. I didn't have strong cravings for warm foods, but sometimes had to eat steamed frozen veggies cause fresh summer veggies are freaking expensive in winter, and I wasn't too rich.
      Now in summer it's super easy, all fruit are really cheap, and zucchinis, tomatoes and herbs are free for me as my grandma has a garden.
      And this winter is gonna be amazing, cause I'm more wealthy now, and will be able to get as much fruit as I want, so a monomeal of my favorite persimmons will finally be a reality! Also, sprouts is also a good option for winter. I pefer buckwheat, it's very cheap in my country, is gluten-free, and really alkalizing.

    I find that eating smaller amounts of fruit more often are more approprite for me so far. I try to eat at least 2000 calories, but in smaller portions, up to 8 meals a day. And that way you can eat a bigger variety of fruit with all meals being mono.

    People need to remember that she has been doing this for 9 years and is also an avid long distance runner. She is eating a lot more because that is what her body needs . And after nine years of eating this amount of foo in one day doesn't phase her. I'm sure it is a process to work up too. It really is amazing to thing that you can get 98% of your total dietary needs met with raw fruits leafy greens veggies and nuts alone. A lot of people don't realize that the earth supplies our body with everything it needs. I think this is a beautiful diet compared to the American diet and I am trying very hard to work up to this! But it's a learning process and every body is different. Excited for this journey! ;)

  • @EvelineUK
    @EvelineUK 10 ปีที่แล้ว +12

    Right.. 7 cucumbers? That's £7 right there, sometimes even more depending on the season.That whole bowl of blueberries would be a good £4-5 as they are expensive, without them even being organic. And that's without the 'vitamin water' that included lots of fruit that she isn't even going to eat, or the morning smoothie with different fruits and greens. So let's say about £15 a day, 7 days a week. That's almost double to what I spend a week for me and my partner, including non-food items that you need like toileteries and washing powder... Not a lifestyle I could afford.

    Hello people and warm regards. I'm just truly learning about mind, body, spirit and am trying to apply what I'm learning everyday. I watched some horrendous documentaries and read some graphic books that made me want to change my eating.
    This is new to me and I'm a person that loves meat and cheese but now realize on so many levels how this way of eating is just wrong not only for me but the planet as well.
    My question is this: if I've been highlighted as having high sugar in my blood and at increased risk for diabetes, can I or is it safe to switch to a diet such as this with all the sugar that is present in all this fruit?
    I want to stop eating the way America has been programmed to eat and nourish my body the way it was meant to be nourished but I'm so confused on the increased sugar intake from fruit even though I'd be replacing man made processed sugar with natural real sugar. I have this fear that my body will just process me having an increase in sugar and may lead to actual diabetes. Please help. Blessings and warm regards to all - Joe

      @kacichristian 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      How are you doing with your intention of changing your diet? With your family history of diabetes, I encourage you to consider purchasing a blood sugar meter & test strips so you can see how various foods affect your blood sugar. In the US scale of blood sugar measurement, it is advised to not eat foods that cause your blood sugar to go above 110. Measurements in excess of that can cause damage to your blood vessels & affect your eyesight without your realizing that the damage is happening. Find me on Facebook at facebook.com/kacichristian if you need support or have other questions.

      I agree, enlighten me but I always thought diversity is better. I cant believe that it is nutritious to eat 8 bananas in one or or to consume 8-10 apples just thinking in terms of acid in your stomach. Also for people who live this life style, just having fruit for lunch, does that feel like you are eating meals? I am a vegan, but a salad for lunch and that Zucchini or courgette kind of meal seems like more of a life style; with fruit snacks in between. This is how I personally feel, but am keen to find out of this kind of meal plan works? =D

      +Mr. Ryan Minnick It's actually on a standard diet you live to eat. Constant coffee breaks, snacking on bagels, gourmet cooking, fast food chains and fancy restaurants and tons of packaged junk food all keep you addicted without you fully realizing it. While when you adapt to eating fully raw you just stop experiencing hunger! You just feel like eating when it's time, but there's no discomfort, if you're busy you can just keep doing your thing and eat when there's a right time. No desire for snacking. So, basically fully raw lifestyle gives you freedom from food addiction, so you have even more free time.

    Be careful with so much fruit though, for many people it decays the gums and can even require surgery to correct it. Eat more veggies and make sure you're rinsing your mouth with salt and water after every meal as well.

    I've never gone fully raw (or fully veg, for that matter), but consider this when talking about the cost: This is ALL she eats! No iced tea or soda in her fridge. No butter. No midday stops for ice cream. No dunkin donuts treat. No meat to buy. No pantry staples like flour, baking soda or canned soup. No cereal. Her ENTIRE food budget is this. Not a lot of $$ when you really think about it.

      Thank you! When we still think of fruits and veggies as a compliment instead of the main course no wonder some people just don't get it. I saved TONS when I stopped buying meat. I can only imagine what I'll save when I stop buying all those seasonings, oils, and other craps for cooked food prep. You hit the nail on the head.

      She mentioned in a video that she spends $200/week on food just for herself. To me, that is a lot of money for one person's groceries. My boyfriend and I spend $60/week for the two of us.

      When I think about it, it IS a lot. She showed how she eats for 20 dollars a day and it was like smoothies, salad, some fruit. It would leave me starving.
      Plus, she has multiple fridges. That costs too (and you need space to put them in......)

      I was raised in France and now live in California for over 18 years. So I know and understand what is like. It is definitely more challenging for people living in Europe because fruits are not only expensive but also very limited. Yes, it is very discouraging. But we can choose to do the best we can from where we are and what we have if we want vibrant health. Fruits and vegetables are the best way to go IMO. And with Kristina's guidance, helps, and encouragements, we can make a few adjustments that best suit us more easily. I really hope you would give it a try. Your body will thank you. P.S: if you speak French, you may want to suscribe to Thierry Casasnovas youtube channel. He is the French Dan the Man. They have a great website called "vivre cru" and forum with tips and tricks for all French speakers :)

    Okay, a few questions. Firstly, organic fruit and vegetables are expensive! Especially if you are supposed to eat this enourmous amount of it. So what's your view on the importance of organic food? Secondly, do you only eat breakfast, lunch and dinner? No in-between meals or snacks? Thirdly, don't your insulin-levels go up and down if you don't eat protein with the fruit? Isn't it hard to keep a balance in your energy?

    I love the video.very helpful every time I again and again watch it.Thank you for the idea of cronometer.When I put my data,I saw I must eat not 2000,but 1300 calories-for my age,weight,height-49 years,162,58 kilos.I saw that I eat twice as many carbos then my body needs, more fats and little proteins,little vitamins,little minerals, 69% nutrients-not enough for the body.I put my data 2 days and the results were bad.I asked-Where do I make a mistake? I thought and understand-I eat a lot of fruits,2 spoons sesme seeds and flax in smoothy,1-2 big spoons flax/olive oil in salad-big,big fats, and I don,t eat greens, some days I don,t go run-so I have no movement-I don,t burn eaten calories. So,girls, use cronometer, it will help you understand your mistakes.
