    Thank you, I am 75, I started taking Nootropics 7 years ago during a down time and a very forgetful, lackadaisical time. Within two weeks I woke up, it was a miracle for me. One of my carotid arteries was 90% blocked so I needed to do something. At my next yearly checkup, my cardiologists said my brain had branched out on its own to alleviate the lack of blood supply on the other side. No, I did not tell him why, I kept it to myself and continued to take Aniracetam, Oxiracetam, and several other things. Last year I lost my husband, I was down but not out, I moved to a smaller place, settled in, opened a new business and at 75 I am an entrepreneur, (writing, painting, and publishing. I do believe the racetams did the trick. Don't know how long I'll live but it will be until I die, like the old song said. Maybe I'll be like Betty White and celebrate a 100th birthday.

    I love this content! I just started with nootropics. My mom, who is a physician, has been taking piracetam for years. I feel very different in a good way. I am in recovery and believe to have some brain damage as a result of 12+ years of drug use. I have 5 years free from drugs (heroin and meth). Nootropics are working wonders for me. I have heard that they do work better in damaged brains. Anyway, thanks for this content and I love the orchids in the background!!

    I'd like to see Milk Thistle (silymarin) discussed as a nootropic! It is highly underrated and most people never look beyond its liver detox properties. As a nootropic, It modulates and increases serotonin, norepinephrine, and dopamine. It also increases glutathione levels. Because of Milk Thistle, I no longer have to take my anti-depression medication.

    Crazy day and time for this video. I have just lost my dad hours ago, his Alzheimer's and Parkinson's Disease were very, very severe. My sister and I are very worried because the onset of it started very early, at 61 we could notice something was up. So the fact that he had it and he started sooooo young makes us even more worried and concerned. We don't even want to do any testing in case we carry the gen.

    I appreciate this video more than you know. Thank you! I started 200mgs of stabalized R-LA yesterday at 3:30 pm. The past 6 years I noticed inflammation around my eyes getting worse along w/numbness & pain in my hands/legs especially at night & brain fog. (Today I live a holistic/organic lifestyle, yet I imagine my symptoms were a direct result of years of alchohol & sugar abuse as well as botox used at one point) I woke up with noticeably less inflammation around my eyes today. For reference, I have been taking a wholefoods multivitamin, Ashwagandha, Coq10, turmeric, milk thistle, Magnesium L-Threonate, Mushroom blend, NMN & Resveratrol. I'm excited to see what the the future brings for me while on ALA. With all that said, I read people who have dental implants & filling should stay away from ALA due to metal excretion and will negatively effect the brain. Any truth in this tale?

    Thank you David for your Great and informative videos, could you please tell what form of magnesium and what brand of probiotics you recommend, it's hard to choose for daily use and maintenance or overall health.
    Really appreciate it.

    • @NootropicsExpert
      @NootropicsExpert  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Monir, you need a chelated form of magnesium to ensure your body recognizes it as natural. I personally use this: amzn.to/3b3srZy.
      And I do not recommend a probiotic unless you've been on antibiotics to treat something. Because we have well over a thousand different species of beneficial bacteria in our gut. So how do you know which one or two of those thousand need to be increased? It's purely a guess.
      I instead highly recommend a prebiotic which feeds your existing microbiome. And when these bacteria have enough good their builtin intelligence decides what needs to be increased.
      This is the prebiotic I use and recommend: bit.ly/2KzeQi2

    Niacin is excellent......but if you choose to take straight niacin, start with a tiny tiny dose. 1 or 2 mg until you get a flush. Every day you'll be able to take a little more. But, don't start with 500 or 1000 mg!!! You'll be flushing in more ways than one:-) Yes. been there, done that.

    Is Meriva curcumin as good as the one you recommend ie the 95% curcuminoids ?
    PS fantastic videos ! Thank you !

    • @NootropicsExpert
      @NootropicsExpert  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Richard, Meriva® is a patented form of curcumin combined with soy lecithin. The two compounds are a 1:2 ratio with microcrystalline cellulose added. The company claims that the addition of soy lecithin improves bioavailability of curcumin. Total curcumin in each capsule is 20%. Much higher doses of this curcumin extract are needed for optimizing cognition. And is primarily targeted at bone, joint, eye and skin health.
      The bottom-line is Meriva is not the best choice IF you are using Turmeric or Curcumin for its nootropic benefit.

    now, the question is where do you find all of these nootropic supplements in one capsule. :-)

    • @NootropicsExpert
      @NootropicsExpert  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Robertito, I do not suggest you try using ALL of the supplements I mentioned in this video. The idea is to understand each category that causes aging. And then choose 1 or 2 nootropic supplements from that category to address that cause.
      Each of us reacts differently to many of the supplements. So you first need to find out what works for you with no side effects.
      You will end up with a custom stack made specially for you and chosen by you. You'll end up with a stack of 6 - 8 supplements to use each day. There's no way that you'd fit all that in one capsule. Remember, there is no "one pill" solution to anything we are dealing with.

      I had a blood test, and my white count was so high, I was sent to a hemotologist/oncologist. I had all kinds of scans, examinations... they couldn't find anything. I may be 70, but I've always been health conscious... I am in good shape. I've taken supplements since I was in my 30's.
      I Googled "high white count." One of the causes was lithium. I discontinued the lithium orotate supplement, had a blood test 2 weeks later. My white count returned to normal.
