Impressive lap time it look like Audi put much power on this new version based on the top speed. But I see a lot of understeering still on corners. Great job for Audi
audi media center stated it's still 400 hp / 500 nm, so no changes on the power. A few changes on the suspension (KW suspension available from factory) and brake vectoring. The top speed is the same since years. You could buy the rs3 in 2021 limited to 290 km/h with ceramic brakes from factory, the dashboard will show around 296/297 km/h if you reach the top speed (tested it myself with my 2022 rs3 on the german autobahn).
@pachokardana6192 lol this kid goes around complaining about Audis like it's his job. Sorry that it beat the M2 lil bro, I'm sure the next M2 will beat this, that's how it goes. 🤷
Given that on the number plate (Seen on another Video), it is marked "6205", I would bet on 620Nm for 500hp. Audi often leaves clues during presentations, remember the one from 2021 with the firing order of the cylinders...
Say so. Take the old 1989 Audi B2 80 sedan. For a cheap 50 eur. And adjust it for a sports car. Lighten the structure of the Audi B2 80 sedan. Adjust shock absorber and springs. Adjust Connections. Install the airdinamic spoiler. Adjust the clearance lower 55mm 77mm. Adjust the engine power. Put on sports manually adjustable speed box. Remember the gearbox itself is the main one to keep the maximum speed of the Audi B2 80 sedan up to 300km/h or more. It all depends on the structure of the engine. Then, during the training process, adjust the weights of the machine body in the Central and Front and rear weights. In order not to fly off the track at high speeds on the Nurburgring track, adjust the steering wheel. Both tires are important. I know a lot of mechs with the opportunity to experience the opportunity to drive on the tracks for a standard time of 7 minutes with an old Audi B2 80 sedan or some other car. 6 minutes of very seriously built sports cars timed laps on the Nurburgring track. Mechanically, anything is possible.
Wrong video description. This is *not* a new lap record. According to Nürburgring's own record list this car is not listed in the compact cars class (like the previous RS3), where the BMW M2 Coupé still leads the pack with 7:38.706. This Audi OTOH is listed in the "Prototypes / pre-production vehicles" class where it's placed 5th (or last if you will). And you can only claim a "record lap" when you drove the fastest time in your class - which is not the case here. It's as simple as that.
That's why audi stated the record will be valid for this car when the production starts, which is in october 2024 (pre-order starts in august). So you are right: It's not an official record YET, but in 2 month it is 😉
I checked the record lis, it shows this car on top of compact cars tho. They fixed it, as it has parts that are optional as performance upgrades from factory (semi slicks and ceramic brakes.) I think the real difference, and reason why m2 lost, is because m2 is about 300kg more than this rs3. The m3 kills the m5 on this track for the same reason. Power to weight is king on most tracks.
@@MrBurrrG Indeed - they moved it from the "prototypes / pre-production vehicles" class to the "compact cars". I don't know when that change happened though.
Yep, the M2 is quite "meaty" (which is strange since the RS3 got quattro which should add something to the weight also) BUT it's nowhere 300 kg. Audi used the sedan for the record-lap (since it's slightly more aerodynamic compared to the sportback) and the weight is at 1.650 kg, while the M2 weights (with automatic since it's the faster option) 1.800 kg. So yes, still a good difference but nowhere near 300 kg, more like half of that. But even the ~80 hp extra couldn't help. I guess BMW could save a few seconds on semi slicks too but it's really hard since both drivers are very experienced and going "all-in" in their attempts. So always a very close one. Both cars are impressive but I find it more impressive what the audi could do with "only" 400 hp.
@@Fastvoice Happened most likely at the exact date when they presented the facelift and you could order it since this was the exact car that went into production without changes later 🙂
A Volvo S60 polestar with 362 HP went 7:51 around the Nürburgring in 2016. If Volvo put the 2012 S60 concept car in production, with 508 HP, then it would have been a monster around the track. Probably would have been going 7:20.
@@pokest225That is what I thought at first but now after viewing the video again I am not that sure, because the concept is from 2012 and it uses the first year odometer gauge and the video shows it using the new style of odometer. Along with the front bumper and headlights. It doesn't make sense why Volvo would change all these components for a record/ test lap. And 7:51 for a 508 HP powered car is slow considering the Volvo concept has a lowered, widened, and reinforced chassis, a tuned Haldex all-wheel-drive system, and Öhlins suspension. Which is a pretty substantial bit of performance for track. This Audi weighs, about 1600kg, as much as the Volvo concept and has 100 HP less. I would expect the concept to be as fast or faster than the Audi. Thank you for reading. It just gets my head thinking a little about the logistics.
yea. stock power for sure :) 297 kmh on the main straight. as fast as 550hp m3/m4 cs. or as fast as 625 m5 competition. i know that "m" in bmw stands from "marketing" nowadays, but what does rs mean in audi? "really" stock? lol.
my brother first of all Bmw m2 did it with 460 hp. secondly the car was stock unlike the rs3 that we can clearly see that they used straps (or whatever they call them)

@@TheEryk03 that's not true at all. Lmao. Using recaro racing seats for ur lap time is unheard of. Watch any other lap time. It's always stock seats. The car is 100% modified. Almost 300Kmh in the back straight is not stock sorry. You have cars at 600+ hp cannot reach 300kmh in back straight (check the Corvette ZR1, 720s, GT3 RS...etc.).
Not necessarily. GT3RS doesn’t have “600hp”. It is just over 500 and being NA that fluctuates a lot. Plus, not as much torque and it’s being dragged by the aero. RS3 doesn’t have track aero. Engine is also turbocharged and German turbo engines all outperform the specs. It probably has ~420whp at this point. Not to say they didn’t modify the car as there is little regulation on how records are done, but the straight away speed is plausible as this is a very quick car and will be much faster in the straight line than any Porsche GT product (excepting GT2)
@@hayashishark7378 No bro..I just watched a Maclaren 720 and GT2 RS top slightly higher than 300kmh in the back straight. 638hp ZR1 did 291kmh..This RS3 is right there with the 720s and GT2 RS and higher than a ZR1 which is completely non-sense

Also 500+ PS braucht man dafür ganz sicher nicht.
Man muss wohl mindestens 10km/h abziehen 😅
from time stamp 1:29-1:36 this shows the rs3 does a 100-200 kph in 7 seconds which is a lot faster than the factory time 9.8 this would indicate the car is closer to 500hp not 400hp

No way this is a production model, absolutly insane performance 273kmh between Kotenborn and Schwedenkreuz and making the corner at 220kmh in a 4 door in no joke
the production car wont do that time, ever! this has lightweight seats, roll cage, special geo, special tyres. etc etc..
Of course it's not a series production car - it ran in the prototypes/pre-production class.
@@yazctr Everything is stock except the seats and the roll cage for safety reasons (which in fact increases the weight a bit, that's why manufacturers are allowed to rip out the rear seats to fit the stock weight).
Tyres are stock too, you can order these road legal pirelli trofeo r slicks since the RS3 8Y came out in 2021 from factory.
@@Fastvoice it is a pre production car, but that only means the car is not for sale yet. The car will be sold exactly like this, but with normal seats and without the rollcage. Dont't know which tires are fitted and will be fitted for the production car, but everything else won't change. And btw, the light weight seats are canceled out by the roll cage, so the overall weight will be pretty much identical to this car.

did they add a full roll cage in the car?
Impressive lap time it look like Audi put much power on this new version based on the top speed. But I see a lot of understeering still on corners. Great job for Audi
I think u mean understeer. The front tyres are squeeling non stop.
audi media center stated it's still 400 hp / 500 nm, so no changes on the power.
Same power... All thanks to optimized cornering behavior, especially through the torque vectoring.

Cool story, bro.
Going 184mph to 68mph in 10sec on that corner is insane
Haptic buttons on a new steering wheel? VW has just re-invented clicking buttons so why the Audi repeats the same mistake from Golf 8.0 R?
Flat top and bottom also
It's cheaper, thats why.
What is up with the sound? For example at 6:15 it sounds like he is accelerating while he is hard braking.
So you are right:
It's not an official record YET, but in 2 month it is 😉
I checked the record lis, it shows this car on top of compact cars tho.
Love to see the round gauge again 👍🏼
Wann ist die offizielle Vorstellung ?
Laut Audi MediaCenter 20.8.24
A Volvo S60 polestar with 362 HP went 7:51 around the Nürburgring in 2016. If Volvo put the 2012 S60 concept car in production, with 508 HP, then it would have been a monster around the track. Probably would have been going 7:20.
That laptime was done with the 500hp concept car.
I am an excellent driver, but I have to admit. This guy is a MANIAC!!
Nice JOB!!
Is there any suspension adjustments to handle the gravity coming from driver's enormous balls?
yea. stock power for sure :) 297 kmh on the main straight. as fast as 550hp m3/m4 cs. or as fast as 625 m5 competition.

Volle Zustimmung. Der Wagen hat ca. 280kmh am Schwedenkreuz. Zum Vergleich: der M3 comp. War an selber Stelle 264kmh schnell😅
