Cheetahs are cats of the genus Acinonyx, while most of the cheetah species are extinct, only two living species of cheetah are still with us, which are the Asiatic Cheetah (Acinonyx venaticus) and the African Cheetah (Acinonyx jubatus), many extinct cheetah species include the †Giant Cheetah (Acinonyx pardinensis), the †Linxia Cheetah (Acinonyx kurteni), the †Geraads' Cheetah (Acinonyx aicha), and the †Thenius's Cheetah (Acinonyx intermedius).

The Asiatic cheetah is a subspecies, not a species, he even said it in the video.

@Fede_99, outdated information, Acinonyx jubatus is rendered as polyphyletic, it is now redefined to be native only to Africa, thus treating the asiatic cheetah as a separate species, which is why Acinonyx jubatus is now officially known as the "african cheetah", the word "cheetah" now more correctly applies to the genus Acinonyx as a whole, just like raccoon dogs are not one but actually two separate extant species, which are the Chinese Raccoon Dog (Nyctereutes procyonoides) of mainland asia and the Japanese Raccoon Dog (Nyctereutes viverrinus) of Japan.

Fun fact: big cats are more correctly defined by the tribe Pantherini not the genus Panthera, there are eleven extant big cat species: the Asiatic Cheetah (Acinonyx venaticus), the African Cheetah (Acinonyx jubatus), the Puma (Puma concolor), the Jaguarundi (Herpailurus yagouaroundi), the Leopard (Panthera pardus), the Lion (Panthera leo), the Tiger (Uncia tigris), the Snow Leopard (Uncia uncia), the Chinese Clouded Leopard (Neofelis nebulosa), the Sunda Clouded Leopard (Neofelis diardi), and the Jaguar (Jaguarius onca).

@shafqatishan437, none of my information is false, there are forty-five extant species of cat within twenty genera and a single subfamily, just like there are forty-five extant species of dog within twenty genera and a single subfamily.

@ianlim4404, again, not false information, many classifications redefine families, genera, and species by heavily reducing them, which render them as either paraphyletic or polyphyletic while traditionally recognized.

I have asked you previously ( in comments of another channel) that where did you get the information that Asiatic Cheetah is Acinonynx Venaticus ?
Because it is actually Acinonynx Jubatus Venaticus

As far as I know, Cheetahs are still in the subfamily Felinae along with Mountain Lions, Lynxes, Caracals, Servals and many smaller cat species. Meanwhile, true big cats (Genus Panthera) are in the subfamily Pantherinae along with the two species of Clouded Leopard.

So beautiful but so fragile cats are cheetahs. Theirs smaller sizes turn them as too easy prey for other large cats, they cannot defend theirs cubs as they would and not only against larger cats... 😢, that is worrying and so their number is decreasing year after year cause human activities are reducing the wild surfaces and leading to too many animals on smaller areas.
Bless all cheetahs, poor endangered species. ❤ 🙏
