Hi Rob, these black and white scenes reminded me of the 1933 King Kong film 😂😂😂, maybe put a filter with this effect, it would be more practical...hugs 😊
Yes! I used Filters to add the black and white, but could certainly have adjusted the intensity of the filter to give a more subtle effect :-)
The segments you stitched together were all originally from one imported piece of media? I just tried to find the stitch option for some clips I'm working with and it didn't appear. When I checked online help it said that stitching is only possible where you are stitching clips from the same source file. If you have different source files you want put together you can GROUP, but will that allow you to apply the same properties to all components of the group and will those properties be retained if you ungroup the clips?
Ah yes I should have made that clear in the video, my apologies! Yes you can group segments from different clips and apply effects to the group, HOWEVER if you do ungroup the clips, any effects you had added to the group will be removed. I would be more inclined to copy/paste the effects from one clip to the other rather than grouping them first.... UNLESS you want to do an animation across those multiple clips... then you would have to group them first. I hope that helps :-)
Camtasia takes a lot of time and requires many adjustments to get things right. There are other software options available that are better and more efficient than Camtasia.
I have never understood why someone would take a video or a piece of furniture and make it look like it spent a year in the garbage dump. Isn't making a visually appealing video enough of a challenge...sometimes very challenging.
Haha very good point!! I probably should have explain some reasons why in my video ;-) I don't think I would ever do this to an entire video just to make it look old... BUT one reason for doing this to a part of a video would be as a way to help tell a story. Perhaps you want to include some flashback B-Roll depicting "another time" while you're narrating a story. Check out what I did at the very beginning of this video from last year... I also did some audio work to make it sound more tinny: th-cam.com/video/9YZ1NR9BgoI/w-d-xo.html
@@RobtheMaritimer Yes there is a time and a place for this type of video. I've seen is used to help tell a backstory or to display a nightmare someone is having. Trying to make something look old on a computer is a bigger challenge. I recall the interview with the two brothers, Rand and Robyn Miller who designed the video game Myst. They spent countless hours making their content looks old and used which was a very difficult thing to do way back then.
@@RobtheMaritimer Thanks for explaining.
