  • Part 2 of a 2-part verse-by-verse study of Mosiah 18-24, which recounts the experiences of a group led by Alma and another group led by Limhi as they find their way to the land of Zarahemla. In this half of the lesson we examine the escape from enemy territory, the importance of the family, balancing blame, sorrow over sin, shadow leadership, and the power of God in our deliverance in and deliverance from our trials. Join Jared Halverson for your weekly Come Follow Me study of the Book of Mormon!

Brother Halverson, you have changed my love for scripture study! I used to just go through the motions. I would hope and pray to understand, but now after studying with you, for the first time it’s really sinking in and now I cannot get enough of the scriptures. I have been studying with you since almost the start of the pandemic (so grateful I found you❤️) and currently studying the D&C with you, but just realized I can go back and study the Book of Mormon again with you too. I’m in Mosiah 18. You have made it easy to find my place with you and go! I’m so grateful these videos are still here, thank you! I am so happy and still enjoying them. Thank you so much for taking the time that you do to help us all learn so much! I have told all my friends about you and they love the way you teach too! I can’t thank you enough for teaching me the love of scriptures!❤️

I feel the same way. And I thought that Doctrine & Covenants were just talking abt our doctrine we know, but there is so much more to them. I now love those Scriptures too. Jared Halverson is a Godsend. ❤❤

You’ve been one of the people who’ve saved my life this last year. I listen to you almost every day. It’s helped me keep focused on Christ. Thank you forever for blessing my life.

Being a convert, back when I was 16, I am blown away that people would be envious of others who had lived their life without the "restrictions" of standards, or be envious over it. That's nuts. I don't look back at my former life and think, ah, those were the days my friend. It was truly awful living life without God, and only feeling any kind of comfort or relief in parties where you get high. The only relief there truly is is in Christ alone, just as the people of king Limhi discovered.

I enjoy studying the lessons throughout the week and usually study at least one hour every day. I read the Scriptures, use manuals and listen to other TH-cam videos. I save your lessons for Sunday as the last lesson before I begin the next week’s lesson. I find that I have a few a-ha moments as I study and listen one more time to the lesson. You do such a great job and are a great example of a humble teacher. Thank you for taking the time to help us to have a greater understanding of the scriptures.

Thank you for your kind words. It's a privilege to study with such a diligent student of the scriptures as yourself! If we all gave the Lord such consistent time and attention, imagine the revelation the Lord would "pour out upon the heads of the Latter-day Saints"!

Thank you! You have helped me see how it “liken” the scriptures to my life. They have always been third person stories before. I am grateful for your perspective.

I know you get messages all the time and you have changed my way of studying the scriptures. You see I have a disability called ADHD and when I sit in sacrament for that hour- watch out I’m not going to be able to sit down with another class, I do but it’s like my brain waves are alike a tornado and not much is left. So with that in mind I’m not sure what you have been trained in but I can sit thru you whole lessons and actually grasp the lesson and remember a thought for the day , so thank you for your time and your knowledge.

I'm so grateful this has been a blessing to you. We all have different learning styles (each with its own strengths and weaknesses), and I know what you mean about being mentally spent in some situations and ready for more in others. The Lord understands and is grateful for our efforts!

I have ADHD, too, but not quite as severe as yours. When I'm in church, though, I have to be moving to get anything out of it; I have to shake my leg up and down over and over, look around, smile at other people, enjoy the babies; Fortunately, the 2nd hour, I'm the chorister for the Primary and Nursery kids, so I get to move around alot there. It's hard to keep focus for that long, and I understand. I'm really glad you are able to focus so well on Dr. Halverson.

Brother Halverson, you have such a gift at helping me see and apply scriptures in my own life. Thank you so much! Please write some commentary books. Your views and style are unlike any I have ever read.

I definitely stuck with you! I always learn so much from your lessons and how to use application in my life from them. That is what I love to try and find in the scriptures is application and you do it so great!! Thank you

You're the best! Knowing you, you were already living all of these principles, but hopefully they came as appreciations instead of exhortations!

I always listen and learn. Very seldom do I break up you video to watch it in part but then I am a widow and all my children are grown 😂😂. I get it if all do not have that luxury. But I must admit the Scriptures have always been a comfort to me even when I was busy raising my children I made time for them. They helped me raise my children.

I'm so grateful it's been a welcome addition for you! I've always loved it when people expand my perspective into scriptures that I already love, so I hope to be able to do that for others. Thanks for watching!
