The Hisk is the sleeper paddle of 2023. An absolute no brainer purchase. All the benefits of the Hyperion but less head heavy and a third of the price.
Nailed it. I have 2 of these and a Hyperion. I love the Hisk. As a high level tennis player, I can absolutely rip the ball with this paddle, and to me, it actually feels soft (but I also play with thermos)…. And you’re right with the Hyperion being a tad more head heavy. There’s someone on YT who broke one open and within the edge foam in the middle sides, there’s some leaf tape…and when I put leaf tape in the middle of my Hisk, it feels very similiar to the Hyperion. Like you said, it’s a great paddle for anyone…I would say except those who are looking for Gearbox type power..this ain’t it. Lol you have to generate your own power…. But for anyone on a budget or just starting out and need a more control oriented paddle, this is a no brainer buy. I’ve never hit with the prism (non thermo) flash, but I would bet they are very similar…..
I actually did try the Vatic Prism side by side with the Hisk and you're right, it does feel pretty similar. Though the Vatic handle is a bit shorter and the paddle is actually unibody so it's a bit more durable
I have both the Prism Flash and the Hisk and prefer the Hisk's sweet spot and plush feel. The feel is similar but the Flash vibration feels and sounds signficantly more stiff, while the Hisk is more of a plush sensation. IMO, the build quality is superior in the Vatic. This can be seen just by removing the grips from both paddles. One can feel the polymer in the Hisk (but not in the Flash) but that's an easy fix with some thin plastic and a little tape. The handle of the Hisk also feels longer (or the bottom of the paddle face feels further from the hand in the Hisk). I spin potential of both are the same. I enjoy playing more with the unknown Hisk, but both are great value paddles.
Just as a heads up to anyone looking to buy a Rav Pro, they regularly go on sale for $50. I've done a good amount of digging, and I genuinely believe that is the best overall value in pickleball. Absolutely love mine.
I've actually updated the link in the video description. They have their own website now that accepts my code for a discount which gets you to that price point
Probably the best deal in pickleball, great price, value, performance, it comes in a box with paddle cover, carbon eraser, extra replacement grip and 2 wrist bands. It is one third of the price of the Hyperion which doesn't come with a cover.
I've had the Hisk paddle since mid-August. I like to buy these no name paddles when they first hit Amazon and was intrigued by the Hisk due it having edgefoam and its shape; I greatly prefer paddles with a rounded top. As the video states, it's an excellent gen 1.5 paddle that control players will like. There are a couple of the things I should point out. The first is that they come with a contour (ridged) grip. Those are a love it or hate it type thing and I'm in the hate it camp. The shape of the handle, while octagonal, is on the tall/narrow side; it will feel almost rectangular in hand. They are currently around $55 with coupon which makes it a no-brainer.
@@TickleMyPickleball Same, the stock grip went into the trash can upon arrival and was replaced with a Tourna Pro Thin followed by good ole blue OG Tourna Grip. Why any company would choose to use a contour grip as their stock grip is baffling.
Great comparison, I love the concept of this series. I'm going to look into Hisk for sure after seeing this. How do you think this may compares to the Neonic
The Neonic is pretty different from the two. Since it's a full thermoformed paddle it has more power and pop than the other two. Neonic also has a different shape so it's got a bit more weight distribution in the head. One last thing is that the Neonic has a layer of fiberglass with the carbon fiber which gives the paddle a bit more pop compared to other carbon fiber paddles
The Prism Flash is Unibody so it's more durable in construction. The feel is similar though the Prism has a shorter handle Mach One doesn't have edge foam so it has a smaller sweet spot
I love this type of review because it's head to head. The other value paddle I've seen is the A11N Carry C7 and it's on Amazon for 50 dollars - and my guess is the C7 is more control favored on the scale. Let me know if you've hit this one. THANKS !!
I have hit that paddle actually but in terms of power it's similar to both of these. It's more powerful on drives than both the hyperion and the Hisk because of the elongated shape. Hope this helps
I think the Hisk plays similar, BUT the vatic paddles are more durable because of their unibody construction. It's less likely to snap at the handle. But in terms of how they play, they do feel similar
Yeah, Epic would probably be closest. I know they’re different surface wise and $ aren’t as far apart so might not be in the spirit of this series, but they seem to be the two reigning reset/soft game paddles at this time.
Got a hisk a couple months ago. Great paddle, great price. I got a cover, extra grip and wrist bands in my box too.

I have both as well. The Hisk has more pop and a plusher feeling. Great paddle.

Wish we could see a showdown between the Hisk Rav Pro and the Vatic V7 /Flash

I just got mine today and love it. 🎉 I highly suggest getting a HISK!!!! Great Quality and top spin!!!
Hisk Rav Pro is absolutely nice. I purchased one and I really love itm will buy another two for a gift . Highly recommended!
I like your reviews, and I hope you continue this series. Blessings bro.
great video, looking forward to seeing more of this series
Love this series! Keep ‘em coming!
Fantastic series. Enjoy your channel 👍
Love this video! Excited for the series!
Love the comparisons. You could also extend to similar priced paddles, such as Filth vs R3 Nova, etc.

I actually took off the stock grip and replaced it the second I got the paddle so completely forgot it came with that grip 😅

Do you have a coupon code? This paddle seems like a no brainer, I was going to order the neonic but they are on pre-order for new stock.
@@EricShapiro-wx5ju amazon already has a coupon code when you click on the product page
@@TickleMyPickleball cool, thank you much! How do you think this would compare to the Neonic for a little bit more (and longer wait).
Yes! Love comparisons!
Great comparison! 150$ less makes sense

I’m just here for the blooper reel lol
Enjoyed this comparison, wondering how the Hisk stacks up against the Prism Flash and Volair Mach One? Thanks for the video.
The Prism Flash is Unibody so it's more durable in construction. The feel is similar though the Prism has a shorter handle
Mach One doesn't have edge foam so it has a smaller sweet spot
@@TickleMyPickleball Thanks again, appreciate your response to my question.

Hisk discount code anyoy? Not that its pricey, but my wife... You get it 😂
Just for reference, they have a coupon you can apply on the Amazon product page right now for 15% off
I bought one. Soon to play. I like the thicker grip but do not like how blocky it is.
please do a video on the gamma micron 5.0. Super underrated paddle
love the rav pro. excellent performance
Great review. Where are these courts located?
They're in VA at George Mason
I just picked this up@@TickleMyPickleball. Will test them out tomorrow. Did you add any lead tape? If so, where did you place it?
Sorry I'm just seeing this now. Hope you're enjoying the paddle! I put 0.15 oz of tungsten tape at the 8 and 4 o clock positions. Hope that helps
Would like to see a comparison against the Diadem Warrior V2
Interesting, I've never tried that paddle before but will see if I can get my hands on one
Planning to buy a new paddle. Do you guys think this can perform as well or even better than the Vatic Pro Prism flash 16mm?
I think the Hisk plays similar, BUT the vatic paddles are more durable because of their unibody construction. It's less likely to snap at the handle. But in terms of how they play, they do feel similar
@@TickleMyPickleball thanks for that!
Vatic PRISM Flash 14mm vs. ProXR Zane signature
If I can get my hands on a Proxr. They ignored my requests haha
Müvn 13s vs Luxx?
Hmm interesting, if I can get my hands on a Luxx Epic or S2 shape it would make more sense since I currently only have the Invikta shape
Yeah, Epic would probably be closest. I know they’re different surface wise and $ aren’t as far apart so might not be in the spirit of this series, but they seem to be the two reigning reset/soft game paddles at this time.
@@terogan another option I've been thinking of is the Luxx Invikta and the Spartus Ballista
Definitely fits the pattern of this first one better.
