I used to have a '75 back from 75 thru 77 and it was yellow. Sadly it was NOT a v8 tho...LOL. Real nice rumble !!!

i have sold parts for these cars for YEARS N YEARS. biggest problem with the v8 swap is that the car becomes VERY unstable being extremely front heavy. 71 72 and 73 are the years i enjoyed

The only car you will ever love, is the one that tries to kill you.

Swapping in a 61 to 63 Buick 215 with 64 300 internals and heads will solve this :-)

@@Epik-hm8ws yeah , good luck finding a Buick 215 , an engine manufactured for only 3 years , over 60 years ago., Cmon. ! I had trouble finding a Buick 215 for my '73 Vega GT back in the late 70s. Good luck with that !

Have any idea what it weighs now? Great car, miss not seeing these older models running around. Stay safe and enjoy the ride

Thanks for the comment! With the SBC, M21, Ford 9", S10 front brakes and a full interior no gutting anywhere it weighted 2950 on the local scales.

@@BadBowtie91 oh man that thing must be fun to handle full throttle. This just happen to come up in my feed, glad it did. The last one I saw with a V8 was in 84' and back then people didn't seem to have all the mods to make it work completely figured out yet, plus the way that have aftermarket kits and parts nowadays I bet it's a lot cleaner build. Thanks again for the video

What trans are you running? Also, you running the cable operated clutch or did you upgrade to something else? Vertigate or H pattern?

Running a Muncie M21 with hydraulic throwout bearing. H-Pattern hurst competition plus shifter. Great setup for a street car.

@@BadBowtie91 does your Vega still have the torque arm running from the rear axle to the tailshaft? I've got a rebuilt 3 ring Saginaw with the mounting holes for the torque arm. Gonna run that with the cable operated clutch and a Mr. Gasket vertigate.

I have the factory 4 link, in 1975 only the Monza and Cosworth had the torque arm if I recall correctly. 1976+ they all had torque arms. Sounds like a fun ride with the vertigate.

@@BadBowtie91 mines a '71 hatchback. It has the torque arm and lower control arms. The rear axle has been swapped at some point cuz it has the mounts for the uppers, telling me it's out of a later model Vega It's got the 3.42 posi in it.

Should have kept the original dash look nobody would know you have a v8 until you started it
