All he had to do those first couple of seasons on offense were hit his jumpers, which were open, and know when to slash and cut. All that allowed his game grow at a nice pace. If he'd been drafted elsewhere, he might've had an offensive game like Ron Artest instead of showing shades of Jordan.
His shot was extremely broken. He only had one issue, and actually did everything else really well. But that one issue, his setpoint, was very very bad. If he never fixed that then he would've only been a defensive specialist who gets limited minutes.
I saw all his college games. He would score around 18pts per game but he only made about 8 pts from the field and the rest came from the free throw box.
