    For people who live here in Kuwait, we go from our air conditioned homes to our air conditioned workplaces to our air conditioned malls. We don’t venture out into the elements unless it’s absolutely necessary. I compare it to wintertime in the northern US states.

    Is anybody gonna talk about Anas and his ingenious plans? He's highly sophisticated, educated, has a great idea, future for a whole city that could work. Using plants and vegetation to recreate a livable environment for others, all that under the heat of the desert? A true inspiration to many and a true icon of commitment, hardship, hope. I would dare to say an unsung hero, but that's one of the many people who want to make a better change.

    I used to live in Saudi Arabia when I was a kid and my parents would take us to the desert at night to enjoy the outdoors. First it's much cooler at night and that's when everyone is out and about but also the desert nights are so mesmerizing. I used to just sit there and stargaze, you got to stargaze in the clear dark desert skies. The stars will appear 10 times brighter and your world will just shrink a bit more. I loved it over there.

      Even dying from hypothermia is better, you stop feeling everything, then you feel warm, then you feel euphoria and you drift off to sleep (die lol). Dying from hyperthermia is just cooking alive at a temperature that isn’t even enough to “cook” you, a terrible feeling, sometimes preceded by hallucinations, and you pass in and out of consciousness through seizures

      Nah. I live in Phx, AZ. We always get over 120 now every summer. I worked on the airport ramp where it regularly got to 135 around planes and concrete. Give me that any day over -10 and below. In 120 degrees you can still go to concerts (its' hot but I've been to many with a beer in hand!) go to the river, ect. In -20.... you stay inside all day, all night because it sucks too bad outside.

    For those civilians who don't know, they drink hot tea on days like that because it will bring your core temperature up to match the outside and you won't feel the heat as bad, another thing they do is wear nothing underneath their dishdasha, no undershirt, nothing, they also sleep on the roof of their houses at night.

    For me, I would prefer the freezing cold over extreme heat. At least in a freezing cold environment, you can put on clothing to make yourself warm. Where as extreme heat will make you sweat a lot, meaning to drink more water, and being nuked by the scorching sun. I used to live in Arizona where the temperature can reach 120°F in the summertime, and when I've visited Alaska in January (And will be going again soon in the wintertime), the coldest was -40°F. Extreme heat + humidity makes it feel hotter. I prefer the dry heat over humidity mostly.

    Just a small note from a Dutch person living in the Netherlands, these horses are called frysan, not freezes, named after a province called fryslan. They have their own language (recognized by the Dutch government) which they still use in their province. It’s one of the oldest Germanic languages still in use and old English is supposed to be similar to the Frysian language!

    • @martian9999
      @martian9999 2 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      you're right, but the English spelling is Friesian (for the horses) or Frisian (for the region). Us Germans, we call it Friesland (the place) or Friesisch (the language), for what it's worth.

In saying that we've had a relatively dry summer compared to last year where we got hit with those floods for months on end and that brought a lot of humidity. So most days were around 35°C with 90% humidity which is unbearable imo.

There were no questions other than invitations to eat, drink and rest.
