An often missed but amazing detail: Kratos actually grounded Thor by pinning his hand to the ground with a dagger, thus shorting out all his lightening. Without the lightening he could no longer summon mjolnir and was forced to calm down and listen. Kratos beat him with that greek science when fists alone would not do.

Thing is, Kratos was once a reasonable man. He was a hard warrior in his mortal days, but he loved his family and he loved his home. He was gentle with his wife and child, he was tough but fair on his brother to try and make him strong to survive life as a Spartan. Even after the death of his family in CoO, Kratos was sympathetic to the people. It took 10 years of serving the Gods to make him a truly dispassionate man towards anyone who wasn't a Spartan, and even after that it took up until thje 3rd game for him to go full villain killing other villains.
Kratos is a great character who is constantly developing and I enjoy it. Though I do hope he stays here, content and happy to help rebuild.

That she foresaw his will to change his way would bring him the wisdom required to become a true God of War, not one that seeks destruction and death, but a God of War that understands its price and knows it is a forsaken path one must rebuke, a God of War that doesn't lead with rage, but with wisdom and deems him worthy of adoration for it. Orders his son to kill Kratos after belittling and insulting him (a constant pattern apparently), then when Thor says no, straight up murders the man in front of his daughter, tells him he didn't want to, then points the finger at Kratos and tells said daughter "It's his fault, blame him not me."

@@spectralspectra2282 For some people, spoilers don't mess up anything. Honestly, I don't understand how spoilers can so easily ruin things for people. My best friend and I always speak freely without any concern for spoilers. For them, knowing what comes next alleviate anxiety. For me, knowing what comes next tends to just get me excited. However, there are cases where it can result in me taking a break from the thing I'm getting into, if it's not a very pleasant spoiler.

"Don't you know what I've done?!?"
*"YES...but what will you do now"*
The same way Kratos came to terms with his past and promised Faye and Atreus he would *Be Better*

@@stephen6954we’ve been shown since the beginning that a lot of Kratos’ power is derived from his own will/rage. Dude defied death by climbing out of the underworld like 3 times simply because he *still had things to do and gods to kill,* has seemingly infinite strength when he’s angry enough, and can kill pretty much anything if he really wants to.
Only he’s not angry anymore, he doesn’t WANT to butcher gods anymore, in this storyline he’s forced into it by circumstance and it’s made him weaker (maybe not in terms of physical strength, but more vulnerable to death at least).
He might not be the insane living weapon he once was, but his raw physical power has given way to wisdom and peace of mind in his old age. In other words, he’s finally moved on and no longer allows his past to make him a violent monster.

U know you can see two types of reflection in this game between characters 1.) Kratos and Thor, Thor reflects Kratos's past, he was a boy who grew up in violence, a man groomed to be a tool and weapon for others to use, a god of hate, rage, and anger. Kratos who has already walked this path is able help Thor make a new choice to better for his family one that he takes, and during the events he does signs of trying to change until Odin breaks him into his old habits and addiction to later kiling him when Thor defies him. 2.) Atreus and Odin, Odin is a dark reflection of Atrues could've become, in pursuit of answers Odin ignores the consequences of those choices such as abusing his son and family, killing and taking from other realms, to enslaving the dwarves and killing brok which led to his defeat. What does Atreus do during the game, he ignores Kratos a experienced war veteran and godkiller of the consequences of war, he sets Garm free that leads to it eating the realms, just after ignoring everyone's misgivings of his idea to talk to Odin which inadvertently lead to brok's death and war on asgard, Atreus had good intentions of course but as Kratos stated during the bear cub scene "Intent doesn't matter, only the consequences."
