    What's really heartbreaking is seeing Sindri starting to become more and more uncomfortable in his own home as the game goes on. He's trying to be as kind and accommodating as possible, but he's surrounded by relative strangers on one side and friends who are constantly arguing on the other side. When he's going down to fetch Draupnir, and he has that tired look on his face and the bandage from where Bear!Atreus clipped him over the head, you can't help but feel bad for the guy. And that's all *before* Brok is killed, and any goodwill he has left dies with him... it hurts to watch. :(

      also you can see fear for chaos beginning to brew. before it was freeing an innocent man. Then more talks of violence enter his doors and he's being polite giving his energy. It's clear parts of it were acts to help others yet it would break at him once the odin disguise was foiled.

      He wasn’t looking at at the drauphnir cuz he was uncomfortable in his own home he was looking at it like that cuz he knew if brok went with Kratos to the forge he would’ve found out that he died before and sindri brought him back but with only 2 pieces of his soul and not all 3

      And you can't help but hurt for him because everyone loves Brok, not as much as his brother did but it's hard to figure another character that Odin could have harmed that would have unified everyone against him like Brok. I loved and will miss that blue bastard.

      @@francissapp6577 But it isn't. It's Odin's fault, and in a way, Sindri's. If he hadn't brought Brok back he wouldn't of been able to die again. He also wouldn't be denied an afterlife. And the way Sindri goes from trying to be angry to just deflating feels like that's what he's thinking. Realizing that everyone here cared about brok just as he did, but none of them are the reason Brok's dead, that bastard is also dead, and none of them are the reason Brok's soul will never find true rest.

      Pretty late, but Sindri is in the process of grieving. He tries to project to kratos. But deep down he knows he is wrong and what he's doing isn't what Brok woukd want. You can even see in his face afterwards he looks regretful and somber than angry. It was Odin fault, and his own fault that brok was killed, and denied an afterlife. He chose to try and make his brother feel better in his last moment.
    Edit: Brok knew that Sindri's actions had robbed him of an afterlife. He knew he was going to die and cease to exist. And yet, once he saw how much it hurt Sindri, he decided not to waste his last moments being angry at him. Brok wanted Sindri to be able to move on and live without him. That's true brotherly love.

    • @bizzaroblake2519

      @GrapeSkoda no. At one point atreus asks mimir if there is a way to bring back Brok. Mimir says no explaining without a complete soul that individual no longer exists as they are denied an afterlife. Also Odin once says while disguised as tyr, after a while a soul in the lake of souls becomes one with the light for too long, it becomes one with the light and is at peace. Mimir also said if there was a way to bring back brok they would of done it already or instructed Sindri what to do to retrieve brok and revive him. So for two in game reasons brok cannot be retrieved.

    • @bizzaroblake2519
      @bizzaroblake2519 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      @GrapeSkoda The game explained it through mimir: Once an incomplete souled individual dies again, they are denied an afterlife so there is nothing to recover. Just stops existing. If there was a way to bring back brok mimir would of told sindri how to do it or be a side quest. Plus even if the soul fragments could be collected and just returned to the light of alfheim, if brok is at peace, then he wouldn't be able to be collected or known. (that's why when we revisit the light of alfheim Atreus mentions he used to hear faye but can't anymore. Odin disguised as tyr explains why saying she's one with the light and at peace.)

    • @bizzaroblake2519
      @bizzaroblake2519 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @GrapeSkoda it was for the narrative to stop the realms from being destroyed by garm. also it was to give beautiful visuals to add multiple emotional elements to a scene. Brok was letting go and the moment was forced as odins betrayal and fatally wounding brok. Brok is supposed to stay dead otherwise sacrifices were for nothing. That's the point. That shortcuts abd actions had prices and consequences. Brok was the payment to learn all that information abd vital pieces to war.

    Never expected Brok & Sindri to swing so hard for "best supporting characters ever" award - even when I saw in the trailer how they'd rendered Sindri with extra close up facial expression & definition. Their stories alone could make for a heck of a spin off novel, or even a spin off game or DLC of Sindri going through Helheim to recover Brok's soul (the 1st time; I don't think there should be a 2nd try).
    I think Sindri could make for a fearsome Dwarven God of War - making god killing weapons out of bitter rage for gods who treat mortals like him & Brok as mere tools & playthings.

      Sindri will have to come to terms with what he has done on his own. He SHOULD feel guilty because what he did was horribly selfish and had immense consequences that fell on someone else. He couldn't let go of his brother and, in the end, his actions denied his sibling an afterlife. Brok chose to forgive his brother to ease Sindri's guilt. But it is up to Sindri to decide whether he can accept it and move on after getting his vengeance on Odin.
      There won't be an easy resolution because he simply can't make up for what he's done. And that is an important lesson because not everything can be made right.

    This story shows it shoulda been a trilogy. Save Ragnarock for the third game. Would have made Sindri and his late arrival hit harder. Why did they choose to end this so quickly? 😢

    • @BigJubble
      @BigJubble ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Its possible given the writers clearly cared allot about the story that they didn't want to risk a "Middle child" kind of situation. It could have been one HELL of a gut punch ending if the game ended with Brok's death and Odin's declaration of war, but could easily have left players feeling cheated, given the build up.

    • @bizzaroblake2519
      @bizzaroblake2519 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      they chose to end it so early because they didn't want kratos to spend so much time in the Norse saga like they did in Greece. They felt it was too much time in Greece so they ended things with ragnarok while everything was fresh. After a while, being in a land without much to keep a game interesting makes it fall flat and sometimes stale. To remedy this, sagas are shortened into one big game as the last game in that saga and have many impressed.

    I get that they set up Sindri as being Atreus' best friend before Brok's death. But it's painfully clear there is a relationship imbalance even that early on. Sindri goes above and beyond to help, even when it puts him way out of his comfort zone, and all Atreus seems to do is mock and belittle him and complain he could do more. I get a bit of light hearted ribbing is common amongst friends but it feels really mean spirited.

    Considering the gods themselves don’t know what happens when they die, (despite Odin clearly having 4 soul pieces that you would think go to the light) there could be more mysteries in death than they know.
    Yeah it’s understood souls go to Hel, Valhalla or the Light when most die but it’s not like these characters haven’t changed things that were considered common sense. Maybe instead of non-existence they still go elsewhere!

    Its interesting to know that information released by the developers shed some light on how Brok Died, He died after he was bitten by a Spider while trying to Craft the Weapon to counter Mjolnir, its sister weapon Leviathan. Brok needed the Axe to be Perfect in all the ways he could get it to be, But that Came at the Cost of him being bitten by the deadly Spider that crawled up his leg while he was trying to keep the leviathans steel heated properly for the right amount of time.
    So Brok not even knowing until just before his death in Ragnarok, he ended up Sacrificing his Life to insure that Leviathan when finished, could Match the power of Mjolnir.

    What hurts so much at 2:06:34 is that Sindri is full of anger. The way he looks at Kratos, Clearly he wants to blame someone. But the real blame lies at Sindris feet.
    Yeah Odin killed Brok, but Brok was robbed of an afterlife because of Sindri.
    I once heard that people often become angry as a way to deal with sadness. Thats what Kratos did in greece when he attempted suicide after killing Olympus. Freya did that after losing baldur and now Sindri will do it.
    Watching a happy go lucky person become bitter and resentful is painful 😢

    I mean, there were LOTS of redflags as to where the story would end up in:
    1) Sindri confessing Atreus the accident that got Brok killed (lorewise, its the venemous spider). We pretty much knew this would come back to bite him in the ass.
    2) Brok starting to distrust "Tyr" during the dinner scene.
    3) The introduction of a third dwarven blacksmith. Why would we need Lunda if we already have Brok and Sindri? Unless, of course: something would happen to them down the story.
    4) Sindri starting to be annoyed by Atreus.
    5) Sindri being reluctant to give Draupnir away.
    6) Brok finally learning his soul was incomplete was a clear giveaway.

He couldn’t live without him and he’s the reason brok was brought back without a soul and can’t enter the afterlife. Then he lied to his brother to hide his guilt and when brok died Sindri realized he would never see his brother again in this life or the next because of what he did. Then he blames everything on you and thinks he deserves to smash odins soul? No way, your the reason brok and Sindri came back together in the first place. Dudes just a self absorbed hypocrite
