@@TheGoat-hg6umno, actually. Kratos is still in love with Faye. he’s still grieving & often caresses her ashes. I want Kratos to get married again, but not to Freya
There may be a massive time skip after Ragnarok in Norse mythology Freya has twin daughters whose names I can't remember and baldur had a twin brother so it maybe a possibility for them to fall for each other.
Baldur aside I doubt it would ever work in the long run. Freya *clearly* hates being tethered to anything let alone another person, and after losing two wives to time I doubt Kratos has another marriage in him.
@@CrazzyJ-iw5rc Hard to say honestly. I would've never thought he would marry again after what happened to his first wife and child. Yet he did. Freya hated Odin for all the depravities she had done(not just to her and their son). It did seem to me that once someone gets her trust, she is loyal till the end. But overall, though it would be interesting pairing, i think that Freya just needed a little "Kratos-level" growing time before she can think about new kids. I mean she was literally, directly responsible for Baldur going absolutely nuts. That was her doing. And the fact that she refused to undo that curse for centuries(if not millennia) only underscores her own selfishness. She said herself that when Baldur's was kid, that he was similar to Atreus(though who knows if this is true) everything had changed only after she casted that curse on him. But who knows what story they will come up with next(if any). Maybe we will get some form of answer, maybe we won't.
Freya saying those arrows are wicked knowing it’s the only way to break the curse on her son which could’ve actually made him come to love and appreciate her is a mistake she made out of concern for wanting him to be constantly protected
Baldur's words hurt me when I think of the harm my mother did to my brother. In his last years of life my brother had the same behavior as Baldur planning word by word that He was going to tell him when they saw each other. Only to say exactly the same thing as Baldur "it doesn't matter anymore"
I always wondered why Kratos didn't just break his arms. His healing went out the window with the mistletoe and I bet even with any magical help it'd still take a while to heal. At least by breaking the arms, maybe his legs too, maybe Freya could have convinced Baldur to let go of the resentment. Idk just a thought.
Probably because Kratos is sick to death of the ‘cycle’ he talks about, of children killing their parents. He sees Baldur about to resume it and it’s too much for Kratos to allow it to happen, especially since Freya saved Atreus. He might have delayed Baldur killing Freya, but there is no way to guarantee he won’t, except by killing him. So Kratos guaranteed the cycle would be broken.
I do see what you’re getting at, but the idea of that cutscene being Kratos just methodically breaking the limbs of Baldur while Atreus and Freya look on in confused horror is an absolutely hilarious thought
27:57 why would Freya rather die when it’s her fault by putting a spell on baldur that’s why he went crazy but still odin filled baldur head with lies but does that make a difference
It's a mother's love for her son. Freya tells Baldur earlier in this scene that if seeing her dead will make him whole, she will let him kill her, if that is the one thing he needs to be truly happy. As twisted as it sounds, a parent's love could make them do anything to ensure their child's wellbeing; even letting their child choke them to death.
@@esmeriandreamer6429personally I don’t think that would help Baldur. Not just because Kratos killed him for trying but if he succeeded he would’ve probably felt bad realising he just killed the one person who loved him. After a while he would probably just become numb emotionally and just be a husk of a man. I don’t honestly think there was a way out which would result in death or a fate worse than death.
You left out that awesome side mission where Freya gets that second sword. I know you weren't including side missions but I feel like that was a major milestone in their relationship.
totally understand what you meant. the reason i left it out is because that scene mainly tells about the bond between Freya and Odin. also, Kratos barely talks on that scene.
If they become lovers, I can honestly accept it. Kratos owes her for saving his Son, someone who has trauma from losing one from the past. And Kratos, although he killed her son, saved/freed her, her people, and all the nations who got antagonized by Odin. He still has to pay, but I think by showing his change could start the ship fully. That’s just my opinion though
It was shown in Tyr's vault in GOW 2018 that Tyr travelled through multiple "lands", and in Valhalla he is even showing off some of the weapons he gathered during those travels. Kratos even found that bottle of wine from Greece, the one that had image of him on it. I would also not be surprised if some of the "mortals" escaped the destruction of Greece and settled in Midgard. And it would not be a problem for Odin to "squeeze" intel out of the few mortals the moment he had learnt about "ashen, marked warrior, who is obviously capable of killing gods". Mimir is also not from the "Norse realms", by his own admission. He too just arrived there and tried to make a new life for himself. So, apparently, there are multiple pantheons coexisting in the GOW universe. And each of the pantheons has a specific "land" where mortals were dedicated to their pantheon.
