  • The twin turbo Mustang Mach 1 gets a drag pack. Big traction is in store for the twin turbo Mustang Mach 1. I install a Weld Drag Pack to ensure all 950rwhp can be put down on the street.
    With the installation of the Hellion Twin Turbo, the stock Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires weren't enough to hold traction in both 1st and 2nd gear. Can a slightly wider tire and much stickier compound make a difference? Let's find out. Also how much weight can be saved. The results may surprise you.
    Old Setup:
    Wheels: Mach 1 (non handling pack) stock wheels
    Michel Pilot Sport 4S on all four corners
    Front: 255 40 ZR19 on a 9" wheel
    Rears: 275 40 ZR19 on a 9.5" wheel
    New Setup:
    Wheels: Weld Racing RT-S Series 3pc Forged (S77 Style)
    Front: 26 6 R18 MT Sportsman SR
    Rear: 305 45 R17 MT ET Street R on a 10" wheel.
    Car:
    2021 Mach 1
    6spd Manual
    Hellion Street Sleeper Twin Turbo
    Hellion 4-1 Headers
    ID1050X Injectors
    DW400 Pump
    GFB G Force III Electronic Boost Controller
    750whp on 7psi (street setting)
    850whp on 10psi
    950whp on 12psi

    I love the direction you are headed. I just took delivery of my 22 HP mach 1. I just crossed the 1000 mile break in and I am absolutely planning to follow much of what you have done to yours. I absolutely love the car and I love this channel.

      Theres so much more potential in these cars than what they come from the factory with. I really want to see someone do all of the DI fueling upgrades. You can make 1000whp on pump gas that way.

    Hey , new sub here, love all the content. Pretty impressive skills for all the work you did on your M 1. I cant wait for the next video, also the most impressive part of the new mods , you pretty much completed them on your own. Giving plenty of props man , WELL DONE !!!!

      Thanks I appreciate it! Aside from tuning EFI i like to do all the work myself. No better feeling than knowing exactly how it all went together if you need to troubleshoot. I appreciate the sub.

    Do you buy the turbo kit for GT on this car? I know it has the 350 manifold so i dont know if it needs the 350 kit or GT kit.

    • @truckandroll989
      @truckandroll989  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Call up Hellion on the phone if it isnt listed online. The Mach 1 kit is different and special. It needs a handful of changed to fit the larger front coolers, intake, etc. its more similar to a GT350 kit but they should have a Mach 1 specific option

    Looks good buddy! Next set of fronts take a look at the Mickey Thompson ET Street Front PART # - 3880. They are 7lbs lighter each than your current tire. 18lbs compared to 25lbs.

    If I didn't have the optional 20-in wheels on my car I'd probably buy a set of weld wheels.

    are the backs drag radials or bias ply tires?

  • @littlekid9019
    @littlekid9019 ปีที่แล้ว

    What tires do you recommend for the drag tires? Or are the performance pack tires sufficient? (Sport cup 2) or what are your back drag tires?

    • @truckandroll989
      @truckandroll989  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question. The answer is somewhat dependent on power level and whether your car is an automatic or a stick. However, my recommendation for all around traction is the MICKEY THOMPSON ET STREET R drag radial. This car has it in a 305 width. Hooks up great.

    quick question does the tire psi sensor go off if you run the tires at a low psi? and if it does how do you fix it

    • @truckandroll989
      @truckandroll989  ปีที่แล้ว

      I dont have TPMS in my drag setup so the light comes on. There is likely no workaround other then adding air to your tires. I wouldnt drive around on low pressure unless im racing though

    What was the torques spec for the welds ?

    • @truckandroll989
      @truckandroll989  ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on the bolt size. I know I didnt go to the full Ford spec which is way high. If you google it they list the specs on their website I believe

    Stock clutch, drive shaft, and half shafts?

    • @truckandroll989
      @truckandroll989  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes they are all stock. As long as you aren’t launching from a dig my understanding is the Mach 1s clutch will be ok for a while. The turbos aren’t really shock loading the drivetrain either so we will see how long they last.

    • @truckandroll989
      @truckandroll989  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honestly you really do not notice a difference. Ive been extra cognizant of avoiding potholes but other than that fine. I slow down a bit more for corners too just to be safe.

  • @sicsempertyrannis3251

    Do you have much turbo lag with the Hellion?

    • @truckandroll989
      @truckandroll989  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is a bit of a tough question so hear me out. Yes and no but the lag in my opinion is a good thing. If you look at my prior video where I show the dyno graphs you can see boost is ramping in until about 4500rpm. From 4500-8000 (redline) it is making full boost. Driving around on the street you are almost 100% out of boost unless you actively try. So on one hand there is some lag. However, I think that bit of lag is what makes traction possible even on street tires. If the boost hit harder/sooner I think it would be a bit less fun and more of a handful. I also think the boost ramping in is easier on your drivetrain, axles, clutch, etc. If i could do it all over again I would not go smaller (or larger) on the turbos. The 62mm seem to be perfect.

    Hey are going to change the exhaust system?

    • @truckandroll989
      @truckandroll989  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honestly probably not. The stock cat back was good to make over 900whp. If i get a good deal on a 3” system than maybe. Otherwise I would like to install cutouts just for racing/playing around
