One of Wes Craven’s underrated gems, great cast, suspense, and fun run time
And what does "fun run time" mean, exactly? Skimming on plot is not a virtue.
What a gem this flick is! The story is absolutely ludicrous, but the tight pacing, clearly defined and well written characters, genuine thrills, and slick direction by the late great Wes Craven really make what is a borderline B-movie something more than that ❤
Terrible fkn movie.
you call it ludicrous, then compliment it. Mixed feelings
Red Eye is such a great movie. Smartly written. Great acting. Thrilling story. Great directing from the late, great Wes Craven.
If I remember correctly, Wes Craven said during commentary that Jackson became obsessed with Lisa. That's why he watched her for 8 weeks.
I still remember the teaser for this movie. They made it look like a romance until the last moment. I remember thinking, "now that's how you sell a film."
"THOSE EYES! THOSE BEAUTIFUL BLUE EYES!!"
Such a severely underrated movie. One of the tightest thrillers I've ever seen and a perfect amount of humor.
According to IMBD “You can see when Jackson is throwing Lisa against the walls in the bathroom that he really has his hand behind her head. It was later revealed that Cillian Murphy did this on purpose. In an earlier take, he accidentally knocked Rachel McAdams out and wanted to prevent it from happening again”. Jesus😅
IMDB is so annoying sometimes. Like, just let people enjoy movies.
@@harley2704how is that keeping us from enjoying the movie?
Sooo
@@robogreek3157what?
@@harley2704TH-cam is just as bad, if not worse.
Another pretty good plane-centered thriller is "Flightplan" (2005) starring Jodie Foster, who plays a mother whose young daughter disappears in mid-flight and sends Jodie into a frantic panic. Did this really happen or is it her imagination?? This film has been forgotten but it's quite good for its type and Foster is terrific.
Flightplan and Panic Room (with a young Kristen Stewart) are good thrillers!
Thank you! I literally just asked what the movie was I thought this was!
And that is it!
I twin them together in my mind because they both came out the same year. 'The movies about being on a plane...'
I love the thumbnail 😂😂
I remember seeing this movie on tv when I was a kid. The third act starting right when they land in Miami is just a full blown adrenaline rush! I've recently became re-obsessed with it and have been showing it to every one of my friends. Happy to see this Craven classic getting recognition!
R.I.P Wes Craven. This film proved that he could do so much more than just horror.
The wind that shakes the barley is Cillian Murphy's best performance I think.
Breakfast on Pluto also, he makes a prettier girl than I do lol
I remember 10 year old me watching this one in theaters with my mom.
And only now do I learn Wes Craven directed it.
Bartender here! Sea breeze is Vodka, grapefruit and cranberry juice. Bay breeze is Vodka, pineapple juice, and cranberry. ❤
The red head at the desk, is jayma mays, famous for her role as the guidance counselor Emma Pillsbury on glee, she also was Keanu Reeves wife in the last bill & Ted movie.
Good to know-l thought she looked a little familiar.
The guy who lost his wallet, is the same actor who played William Stryker in the second X-Men movie
Yes,Brian Cox-he’s a very talented Scottish actor.
Brian Cox. Always a great performance.
You mean Captain John O'Hagen from Super Troopers?
I screamed when I saw this! I love this movie! Getting snacks ready.
This thumbnail is priceless!!!
I remember an interview about a question to wes craven. Why only Horror Movies? His Answer was: The only thing they want me to do. But at the audio commentary he said he love it to make this thriller.
Wes Craven's Vampire in Brooklyn with Eddie Murphy. As for Rachel McAdams , Wedding Crashers and Sherlock Holmes are two of my favorites.
I know many would disagree but this is my favourite Wes Craven movie.
That's an FGM-148 Javalin the bad guys fired, a shoulder fired anti-tank missile.
Good to know.
Another underrated Wes Craven movie is Cursed.
Very true.
"Every time you wiggle you squeak" Best line ever.
Holding back on snacks, high blood pressure...pun Intended.
Seriously. I think you guys are awesome.. I hate the internet, but you guys are entertaining. I'm very happy you make you're show!!
My grandma died 2 weeks ago. She was 101.
She had a very long life.
I’ve just downloaded this so I can watch it on a plane tomorrow. Talk about immersive experience 😂
"I don't know... I'm pretty much a cold-hearted bitch, though, so..." I love Mrs. Movies lmaoo.
The movie commentary with Wes Craven for this movie was great. This was a tight script. He specifically wrote it in such a way that the movie didn't overstay its welcome. Just when you're saying "grab the gun", she grabs the gun. When you say "shoot him", she shoots him... That's what Wes Craven wanted. A film where the audience gets involved and lives out what they're screaming at the screen.
I remember watching this when it first came out and i was like wow amazing film. Years later i learned it was Wes Craven and i was like ahh makes sense 🤓🤍
I love this movie ❤
Interesting flick. This was my first time watching it. Is it just me, or was Cilian Murphy's character a *terrible* assassin? 8 weeks of stalking someone only tertiarily related to his target rather than planning an actual ambush, couldn't fathom planning for potentially unreliable air-phone service, and got molly-whopped by a hotel manager with a novelty pen and a piece of wood. Jeez, even his cohorts in the boat had to use a friggin' S.A.M. and *still* couldn't 86 their target? This is what you get when you hire a hit squad from Craigslist classifieds. In any case though, great reaction from you guys as always! The Mrs. had me cracking up with her instantly locked and loaded attitude toward Murphy, and that "apples to apples" perspective about trading one guy's life for another was hilarious!
Watch Wes Craven's biggest masterpiece:
Vampire in Brooklyn
Hats of to the TMNT Shirt buddy...
Bay Breeze differs from Sea Breeze in that it has pineapple instead of grapefruit, but it is still a vodka and cranberry cocktail with the same ratios.
Isn't the security detail the guy that won survivor in the early days lol Colby I think his name was 🤣🤣
I remember watching this when it came out. Since I am living overseas, I have missed so many movies, so the funny thing is the first time I saw Rachel McAdams was in the Sherlock Holmes movies. I probably noticed her when I saw this the first time but didn't know who she was. Time Traveler's wife was good but sad. Of course, recently in Spotlight, I love watching her! Ps I have only recently started watching Seinfeld for the first time. That's how behind I am.
Even though he loved making the movie, Cillian Murphy has said he doesn't think it's that good ("it's a good B-movie"). But I love it because it's so campy and ridiculously fun. Cillian and Rachel McAdams have an insane amount of chemistry too. But I do wish that Lisa had been the one to finally take him out.
Some fun facts:
The movie was written for Sean Penn and Robin Wright (who were married at the time) in mind. However, Wes Craven wanted younger leads.
Cillian wanted the role of Jackson so badly that he took a plane from England to Hollywood two days before his wedding to have lunch with Wes Craven. Wes later gave him the part saying that his eyes won him over. Wes also got married in the middle of shooting.
If you look closely in the plane bathroom scene you can see Cillian's hand holding the back of Rachel's head. This is because in an earlier take he accidentally knocked Rachel out and wanted to prevent it from happening again. That take was captured on film and is included in the gag reel on the DVD (you can also see it here at 3:04: th-cam.com/video/S3c_Wb_0urw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=CQVQiTIFjArOpuDp). Btw, Brittany Oaks who plays Rebecca (the little girl) and is absolutely hilarious is 30 years old now!
When the woman spills an iced coffee on Lisa, the expression on Rachel McAdams's face is real as she did not know it would be so cold. It also wasn't supposed to spill on her to that extent, but it worked so they kept it.
For the movie, fake airline tickets were printed up for passengers to carry and use. On the back was listed 12 terms and conditions for buying the ticket, just like on real airline tickets. However, the twelfth read: "All the provisions of this Passenger Ticket and Baggage Claim Check are completely bogus. It's all a bunch of excessive detail, and if you happen to be reading this you've got too much time on your hands. Bring a good book next time".
Jayma Mays who plays Cynthia, Lisa's assistant, is most known for her role on Glee. She has also starred in movies such as Paul Blart: Mall Cop, The Smurfs and Epic Movie and shows such as The Millers, Heroes and Ugly Betty. This was her feature film debut. Before this she had only guest starred on one episode of Joey (the Friends spinoff).
Brian Cox who plays Joe, Lisa's father, is well known for his roles in movies such as Bravehart, Troy, the Bourne franchise, The Ring, Zodiac, The Water Horse, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, The Autopsy of Jane Doe and the TV show Succession.
The annoying male hotel customer in the beginning and end is portrayed by Robert Pine, actor and father to Chris Pine.
Another movie similar to this (mainly because it's a thriller/mystery that mostly takes place on a plane) that I recommend is Flightplan starring Jodie Foster. It was released the same year too.
Cillian Murphy is scary good in this. He is terrific in a terrific series "PEAKY BLINDERS" 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Like this movie well written and directed actors are on point Brain Cox from one of my favorite franchise Bourne Identity the beautiful amazing Rachel McAdams from Sherlock Holmes and Cillian Murphy just kills every role he plays
Love your guys reactions ❤
So Regina changed the lacrosse club for a field hockey one, and still gets her aggression out with the stick I see.
If you liked this one, you'll love Flight Plan with Jodie Foster or Passenger 57 with Wesley Snipes.
I was wondering why I had never heard of Red Eye, and looking at the year I figured it out. That was the year my boys were born, and that was the year their mom would not abide anything Horror being watched in the house. Yeah buddy. Ah, OK, thriller not horror. Same reason. Glad I watched the short version here though.
Is the security agent at the check-in station Colby Donaldson from survivor ?
A solid Wes Craven flick!
Love reactions ❤
The man in the beginning that was going to call corporate was Ponchs boss on the Chips tv show. It was nice to
see him get a bit part 20 years after chips ended.
the amount of ADR in this movie you'd think it was genuinely filmed on a plane 🤪
i remember watching the trailer for this, it made me think Cillian Murphy was like the devil.
Exactly
"Is this gonna make me not wanna flight anymore?"
Have you guys not heard about all the Boeing shit going on? Fuck flying right now.
I have special needs from time-to-time.😂
Mrs Movie's version of this film would've taken place on a boat and lasted 20 minutes.
This is in my top 5 of the Rachel McAdams films that I have seen her in.
I really like this movie, but one thing I wish they'd did differently: There is such a slow burn from the time that Cillian Murphy meets Rachel McAdams. It seems clear to me that it was written as a "meet cute" and lull the audience into a false sense of security. However, the opening credits with the bracing music kind of telegraphs/undercuts the surprise with Cillian Murphy's character. I wish there was a way they'd been able to sprinkle in the necessary plot info at the start without cuing the audience to automatically think Cillian was a villain.
Try Game Night for a great Rachel McAdams comedy
I'd recommend Flight Plan if you haven't already seen em. Great psychological thriller with Jodie Foster!
Okay. What the hell is the airplane movie where the woman's daughter disappears during the flight?!?!?
I thought that was this!!!!!
Flight Plan with Jodie Foster.
Not familiar with this movie. However I want to say thank you for being the only channel willing to do different movies. All the others so the same damn movies.
This is one of those movies in which I feel the bad guy need it to win, like in the Chaos movie
I love you, guys. Pls, watch House of Wax (2005)!
5:24 Robin meets the Scarecrow
All in all, one of Wes Craven's best(rop).Like it better than a lot of his horror films.
I❤This Movie!
I love cillian,he's young an hung too😂❤
I rented this on dvd a few years after it's release because it was only £1.
Expected it to be crap and it's a really good film. With great performances from the leads

This movie made be obsessed with Cillian when i was 15
Mr is gaslighting Mrs, it's obviously a completely convoluted plot😂😂. Just go with it.
Absolutely love Cillian Murphy in Peaky Blinders. Peaky Blinders would be a good watch for your channel.

An assassin who wears an ascot 😂
Good choice recommend P2
My best friend dated Rachel McAdams back in high school (St Thomas Ontario) knowing her personally she is as far away from my free pass as they get.
Care to elaborate?
I absolutely love 💘 this movie 💜💜💜 it's GREAT 💯 it doesn't get enough love
You guys should check out Deadly Friend by Wes Craven
Good thriller. RIP Wes Craven.
Craven may have branched off from slasher movies, but he couldn't resist ending the movie with the classic trope of the bad guy chasing the woman through the house.
Y’all have to watch Johnny Depp and Christopher Walken in Nick of Time.
You 2 should watch snakes on a plane that's a fun plane movie
I like the Mrs totally pessimistic view on people's intentions. Who would think Cillian could be mean, cmon now
Because of the trailer and Wes Craven, I was expecting a horror/supernatural movie when I watch it... it was a disappointment, but the movie was ok I guess. I never watched again. Also, 14:08 exactly!
You’re wife is the best wife ever. She’s watching all types of movies with you and you two are movie buffs. I hope and wish I can find a movie buff wife
SEEN RACHEL McADAMS WITH OWEN WILSON IN "MIDNIGHT IN PARIS"??? 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Mrs Movies is beautiful
Um, ackshooly, Key West, Florida is about 90 miles from Cuba.
People are assholes Mrs. Movies. This film is really great i loved it and i love this channel!
Also Cillian Murphy was in Batman Begins the same year this came out.
Fun story:talking about poo I went to Bonnaroo Music Festival once and the port-a-pottie sitch was literally overflowing with mounds of poo sufficed to say I feared no public toilet since!💩🚽🤢😎💪
I've always enjoyed this movie. apparently Cillian hates it.
Red Eye one of my favorites films great cast especially some of the actors and actresses I grew up watching in the 70s, 80s, and 90s like Robert Pine from Chips and the father of Chris Pine, Angela Paton, Jack Scalia, Beth Toussaint, Laura Johnson, Dey Young, Suzi Plankson. It also got Reality TV star I didn't like Coby Donaldson.
Wes craven worked with meryl streep *eddie murphy* and freddy kruger lol
Can u react to INFESTED 2024?
This was not the reaction I was expecting. Thought this was the film about a child dissapearing mid-flight.
I believe someone else mentioned that's called "Flight Plan"...
🖖
Hi I Just discovered your channel and I really like it! I would be so happy that you react to the movie The bride of Chucky! For the next vidéo !
