I made 2 WestPac cruises in the 80's. Lots of memories in that port!! Olongapo has changed a lot over the past decades. Quite glad to see it. Thanks, Frogman. Really nice video, man. 👍 I happily subscribed to your channel.😊
🌟Thank you very much! Olongapo City Philippines is very much changed since is older days. I have explored around quite extensively and seen many many changes. Subic Freeport also has changed considerably as well. But you can still see some of its past as you walk around. I will be making some new videos soon on both Olongapo City /Subic Freeport
Back from 1987-1989 Mayor Gordon ruled that city and remember the first road to the right to get to "T" tavern bar and they had a nice resturant there too further along the road.
Olongapo City and Magsaysay Ave are very much changed but you still find some older buildings from its previous days. The big SMC mall is now located where the old "T" Tavern once was.
Wow… it’s changed considerably! thanks for this tour. I was born and grew up in olongapo. Left in 1986. My dad was in the navy and retired at an early age there in olongapo then left after the Philippine government decided not to renew the contract with the U. S. Military (something like that). I was 19yrs old then. I don’t recognize my hometown🥺 but can’t wait to visit and have a reunion with my old friends and school mates! Mabuhay olongapo city🎉🎉🎉
Yes, Olongapo City Philippines is very much changed from her earlier years. I will be doing more updated videos on Olongapo City very soon, but I am very happy to see this beautiful city really develop into a major tourist zone.
Wow, didn't recognize anything except for the bridge n river, & traffic circle. Used to catch jeepneys there to the left to go to the Barretto. Over to the right and down a way was Victory Liner busses IIRC; had to pay extra for the ones with AC, but worth it for the trip to Manila. Cool vid, thanks! 👍

Yes, Magsaysay Drive Olongapo City Philippines brings back memories for alot of folks. Olongapo City is becoming a very beautiful city with alot to offer. I know Kongs has been around for along time, nice place, great for wedding reception. Thank you very much for watching my video!
🌟Olongapo City and Subic Freeport Zone are very much changed since there earlier days, especially Olongapo City, I walked all around the city lots of coffee and Restaurants, no such thing as red light district anymore. I will be doing another update video soon.
Olongapo City & Subic Freeport have changed significantly to the better. Lots of progress taking place. Clark is absolutely amazing in it's transformation. 🔱🐸
Olongapo City is very much changed since her former days, there are a few night spots and very low key at that. Olongapo is much more small shops and restaurants now.
wow. Last there was in 1994 with the U.S. Marines. Time has indeed change things, I once walked all those streets and knew them better than my hometown in Queens, N.Y. If I was to visit today, I might end-up being lost on Magsaysay. Question: Which is most developed, and cleaner is it Olongapo or Angeles?
Angles and Olongapo are about the same, although Clark is very very well developed. Olongapo is a much much better city now than her past days. But I believe Angles is bit more clean and development than Olongapo, great to be here 🐸🔱🇵🇭
@@travelingfrogman Thanks Frogman, I hope I get the chance to visit after I retire in about 4 years. Why did you change the name of your channel.? I've been away working for a while and just had a chance to tune in and noticed the name change
I was there 50 years ago! Wonder if my GF Terry is still there. She'd be 70! Very enjoyable. If you do this again, I request that you point the camera to the sides, to show more of the stores rather than just pointing in the direction you're going. It would give more of a sense of the businesses on the street. Thanks!
Thank you very much for watching my video! Also, thank you for the tip on my camera angle. I will be back many more times on Magsaysay Drive and will focus on the building more. Olongapo City is much different place than 50 years ago getting much more developed.

@@derekdestep40 Wow! That is very awesome! The base itself has changed alot, but you can still see some of the old building structures. I also spent some years deploying to Subic, very nice to see how it has been doing. I will be making a follow up video for base soon.
