Some of the best memories of my young life, becoming a man were on and directly off of that strip Nov '86-Jan'87 (3/9 USMC). The clubs, Airport, Sky Club, East Coast and many others will live on in my memory, along with the 168 (who remembers?). At the traffic circle I would go to the right to my girlfriend's house and the Jungle (where the brother's hung out) was to the left. I have some great stories from my time there. I'm going to Kata Beach in about 2 months, really looking forward to it 🙂 Never been to Thailand before. I visited San Diego 5 years ago, very nice city. Were there 14 days, took a tour of the Aircraft carrier , and ate a lot of steaks, fish tortilla, and icecream 😂

My first training at Tiger was in 2003 ... it had only two rings. The whole street was empty. Now I can't stand it. It no longer represents training in Thailand I loved. Better go to Chiang Mai for that. Just my humble opinion.

Cool, we'll be arriving there in 44 hours. We've changed some currency to Baht. Don't suppose you would know the approximate exchange rate for AUD to THB Exchange rate here in Australia didn't seem all that great but wanted some local currency when we landed.

Here in Hua Hin ppm is 202, pm2 100 and people are jogging and exercising. Smart enough to exercise but dont notice the smog....😅

Decades before the WW2, America and the Philippines were at war following the Spanish-American war in 1898. Then in WW2, they were fighting side by side against the common enemy, the Japanese. Today, America, The Philippines and Japan are great allies, proving enemies can turn into friends as long as there is love, tolerance, forgiveness and hope. Today, there are fightings in the middle east that were rooted since biblical times. Its because they keep teaching their children that they have enemies and they should grow up fighting and killing their enemies. I’m glad my forefathers didn’t taught me to hate the Japanese. Now we are friends.

when I trained at Tiger Muay Thai many moons ago, the place was still jungle! Now is so developed. It lost that feel of being in Thailand training.
