Truly is insane how Mitsuru's a catalyst to the game's lore. Her family is responsible for the disaster that caused the Dark Hour, she herself hadn't been so trustful to others about it at the beginning of the journey, but here we see that she's the youngest person to awaken to her potential out of what she viewed then as her lifetime goal to protect her father. Also dialogues heavily imply how after this, her then Persona, Penthesilea had to undergo some experiments so the Kirijo Group can understand the means of awakening a natural Persona, which they would then attempt on several orphaned children to artificially give them a Persona and make them child soldiers (a feat that killed many of these children, except what would soon be Strega and Sho Minazuki from P4 Arena) Takeharu was such a reasonable father for literally not wanting his daughter involved in the situation he himself wished to atone for, but Mitsuru's determined to do that for him because it's what she awakened her potential for. No wonder it had took her long to heal after November 4th. Mitsuru's a truly wonderful character and I always love seeing in-depth thoughts about her as a change of pace from people just finding her as a "pretty rich girl who eats burgers with forks", as endearing as she is for that. :')
Mitsuru is a great character, just Persona 3 has some very strong and well written party members, some of the best I've ever seen from a RPG. So she is a bit overshadowed unfort
If Mitsuru already traumatized in that experience specially that she is the sole daughter and heiress of Kirijo group then imagine how worst it was to the Orphans that get kidnapped(I think some of them died in the process)
3:56 Classic Junpei, until you realize he was saying that to take Mitsuru's mind off of her father. It really shows his emotional maturity after everything.
This actually put some things into context, how Mitsuru has an almost crippling fear of Doctors since she was most likely heavily experimented on after the researchers witnessed her Persona Awakening so they could understand it, and subsequently replicate it artificially which would lead to the Kirijo Group experimenting on orphaned children, many of which would die and the survivors becoming Strega and Sho.
Man these bust-ups in reload add so much expression to a character and I am seriously happy with the voice direction seriously way better of a presentation than the og answer
It's a definite improvement, and I love how she grabs a sword-esque-shaped weapon to add to the theme. But I kind of wish it'd been more cinematic and that we'd get to see Penthesilea actually fight. I guess I've been spoiled by P5's awakenings.
Possibly, Mitsuru was born in 1991 while the events of Persona 2 takes place in 1999 while the events in persona 1 takes place in 1996. So she would’ve been around 8yrs if it took place during the persona 2 time.
No doubt that one of the scientists in the past where this took place is the lame pungeon traitor Shuji Ikutsuki who was watching about this scene with delight.

Not just heavily imply. I’m pretty sure either here or Akihiko out right say she was experimented on earlier in the main game
Takeharu Kirijo seemed like a good man, with a devoted daughter.

I know she was experimented on, but since when was it ever stated that Mitsuru has a fear of doctors?

I forgot she looked like that... give those drills back to Kasane Teto!!
Just watched this on the live and it is still so well animated.
I assume this was during the events of persona 2
