@@arran4285 different art direction, not soulless. I don't buy into this whole "soulless" discourse, you can tell from the added scenes/dialogues that they worked hard to make the game hit as hard or harder than the original

When I was younger the original scene scared me so much. I love that effect it did on me. Highly disappointed they changed it.
I was expecting it to be beautifully horrific like the original but this is fine I guess
Idk why, but something about the protagonist out of body experience, where you see all the motions, the idle from the enemy's side... is so fascinating.
He also looks so cute and goofy. I just wanna pet him.

I really hated that censorship limiting the creativity even it has good point too.
Can't blame them either tbh, they HAVE to censored because this DLC game is not only limited releases to English viewers and there's some heavy censorship rules in other countries.

i be honest the shadow disappearing is too weak compared to the original one , the original one was brutal
I knew they were gonna' tone down and soften the animated cutscene's graphic depiction and intensity...
Reload may have higher quality cutscenes but I really liked the art style and direction of the original... P3R just feels like Persona 5 wearing a P3 mask and not like actually P3.
This^ I hope we get a simple mod to insert the old cutscenes that work better or a toggle.
@@1candondor I feel the same way with the soundtrack. I really wish there was a toggle between the old and new arrangements. The atmosphere just isn't the same.
I'd like the abstract animation of the shadow dissolving like the OG, but I think having Aigis reaching out to him and the somber silent everyone have make the scene more emotional and emphasize that their deepest desire of seeing the protagonist again fully realized.

You could just say you don't like the game's art direction, but to compare this game's art direction to persona five's it's not reasonable, why? They're still different games, sure, reload's is more "modern" and different than how the original direction would have wanted it to be, but persona five? It's nowhere close (Edit:As in, nowhere close to what it is, you're comparing two very different things)

The fact that people are so butthurt over an aesthetically changed cutscene that let’s the MC rest in peace, and a changed Junpei line is insane… be glad we even got this DLC at all for Nyx’s sake, you get what you get and Atlus cooked here regardless
As much as I see the changes on the expansion compare to the original are kinda fine and all. I do also understand why people are upset about it, since those scenes are kinda iconic especially the scene where ??? Melts to the point of it's skeleton being seen onscreen.

The original scene had a very clear intent: it's literally Makoto's corpse being animated by their grief melting away. It being a general anime moment instead is a direct downgrade in every sense

"Fatlus" is protecting "young mans" from psychological trauma nowadays. We should cherish our memories of the old cutscene and be glad that we got to experience it, since with modern "snowflake" state world, they'll won't have the balls to do something similar ever again.
