I love your videos as much as I love Fuji and I have been using Fuji cameras way before there were film Sims choices because of the wonderful way that Fuji has always been able to capture what I see in front of me in terms of colour and depth... but I have to say the obsession with film Sims and digital enhancement of the actual image in front of you has gotten to a point where none of us are seeking out particular colours or plays of light that naturally occur in front of us any more (like we used to!) Also the more we are sidetracked with film simulations we all seem to be forgetting about composition or the picture actually having a point of interest ! Film Sims will not help a bad picture or make a great picture any greater.. Personally I would love a recommendation for the most neutral Film Sim possible (Standard?) Just try switching to Live View and see for yourself what the camera is seeing and what is really there in terms of colour and depth ..I switch to Live View so I can try to seek out a composition using the actual light of a place or a time of day more accurately... this is how we found magic back in film days -it had to be there! ..certain places like Greece and the Mediterranean already have a certain 'magic' light that can't be found anywhere else in the World.. the last thing I'd want to do is swamp all that wonderful natural magic with a film sim
Reggie’s Portra is goated tbh. Such a great film simulation. I love using it. Great video! I’m going to use another Olsan recipe called Cubanace for Europe next year. He has some really good ones.
Been using Reggie's for the last few months..I really enjoyed the look. But those other I'm going to try out since fall is here.. thank for rhe share..
Reggies Portra really grew on me. At first I wasn’t really a fan that it was so usable for everything but after some time I really started to appreciate it. Especially after shooting my first roll of portra 400 on my Nikon FE haha. Would love to hear what you think about reggie’s HP5
Thank you for sharing! I”m using Sony a6700 for travel photography with my custom picture profiles and shooting HEIF format. Images are usable right out of the camera and if needed, I can edit these too. The quality of Sony HEIF files really good compared to JPG.
@@Iamtongue , If you use RAW files, the picture profile is actually disregarded. You must first convert from RAW before proceeding with any other modifications. There is no need to convert HEIF files. The scenario is virtually identical to that of JPG images, with the exception that HEIF has significantly higher image quality, allowing you to alter files later if necessary. JPG files have several artefacts that make editing almost impossible. HEIF is essentially identical to RAW, but image has already been converted by applying your image profile.
@@Iamtongue , from Sony documentation: The HEIF format enables recording images with a rich 10-bit color depth gradation expression and is effective for reproducing gradations of the sky where the tones tend to change smoothly. The HEIF format supports recording with 4:2:2 color sampling with a high degree of color reproducibility. Therefore, when the high image quality is required, you can use 4:2:2 color sampling. When you use the [HLG Still Image] function of the camera, you can shoot still images with a wide dynamic range and a wide color gamut compatible with BT.2020 by using gamma characteristics equivalent to HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma: standard for HDR images).
YOU are the person to ask! So here goes! Is this focus issue on XT5 real? I’ve been on Fuji since 2018, and I have noticed it since the last firmware update. Is the problem mostly in AF-C? I rarely use AF-C, and only do stills on my XT5 but I’ll definitely switch to single point. Dumb question: Should I turn OFF eye detect? I use my Fuji cameras to make a big part of my living, andI have since 2018. I’m a headshot photographer working in studio and natural light. In studio, I’ve not noticed any problems at all with AF. Likely because I’m between f5.6 and f8. But last two outside shoots (post firmware 4.0) I did notice about 50 out 500 (10% or so) were a bit off with the focus. I’m primarily shooting on the 56mm and not wide open. I got eye confirmation, but it focused on the tip of the nose, etc. Till Fuji fixes this, should I turn off eye tracking and stick to face detection? I did try that and got almost no misfires. Seems to do with the eye tracking giving false confirmation. I have a shoot coming up this week so help is appreciated! These are amazing recipes btw. Lastly, I hope you do a review of the XM5. Very curious about that camera and I bet you’d crush with it!
Yo bro! Would love you see you rock a Lumix S9 and lumix lab to see what you create! I think with some work it’s possible to get similar looks. I’m trying to make a test with my GFX 50s and lumix S5ii once I get to test some images and luts stacked potentially. No grain the this moment. But I think that can be a quick preset added in post via capture one.
Ya i would love to! I actually got in touch with Lumix Portugal and we were close to having a loaner unit come to me. But they've ghosted me since. But if i can get that up and running for sure.
@@dhadelgamer I really like the Xf 16mm f1.4 that’s a legendary lens. But sirui just released a 16mm f1.2 and I would reccomend that over the f1.4 because of its value.

Wow. Can i do it with X-T2? I plan to get a Fujifilm cam. But i have very limited budget. Wish to get myself a X-T2
unfortunately you can't get any of these look. However if oyu go on fujixweekly they do have looks for xt2
How to turn Reggie’s Portra into a lightroom present? are you releasing it?
.It requires someone to learn how to edit. And make it for the public. I don't have time to do that
do you use the S5ii?
I don't anymore. It's too much video camera for me.
did you use a camera filter for these shots?
yes I had on a 1/8 black pro mist
What’s ur one wide lens u pick most of the time for Fuji?
