Gang! If you enjoyed this episode drop a like to let me know! Also this recipe will never 100% replicate Kodachrome, it’s more of a hybrid recipe if anything. With that said, I hope it gets you some amazing images 🙏🏽
...I appreciate your Dad vicariously - never had the chance to interact with my Dad (RIP) at this level as an adult. Shout out to all the real Dads out there. And Mums. We appreciate. You matter. Bless.
This video is just heartwarming. Its not just about creativity and photography, its more about spending time with your love ones. Camera/photography can be the reason or excuse to bring someone you love together. This is such a good example. Somehow this video made me think of my late father. I love photography and i wished i would’ve had this one on one session with him just like you do with your dad. Thanks for sharing this video bro!
Man, your dad seems like an extremely cool and interesting guy. I bought an xPro2 last month (totally off-topic, but dayum what a fun camera) and was looking up simulation recipes. The Kodachrome recipe is one for which seemingly everyone has a version that's a little different, and it's been fun trying them all out (I think yours will live on my xpro for a while, it's very nice). Everyone has their own take on it, and because Kodachrome looked very different over the years, nobody is ever fully 100% "correct" or accurate, and I really like that. The fun is in the pursuit. I was lucky enough to have been able to shoot a number of rolls of the final iterations of Kodachrome when I was in high school in the late 90s and studying in Canada in the early 2000s (as well as a few expired rolls Kodachrome... that's an interesting experience). Lots of folks find it irritating, but I think the fun part about Kodachrome recipes is that it's so doggone hard to replicate, add into the mix that Kodachrome chemistry seemed to change every decade (or less) for the entirety of its existence and you have a mythical beast who's legacy we hold in almost sacred regard, who's essence will probably never be captured again, but a few souls will never stop trying... and I think that's cool as hell. Thanks for all the fun vids over the years, and thanks for the recipe!
Awesome episode. Sharing Moments with your parents is so important especially as they get older. I’m taking my mom to France this year. Brining my fuji and my Leica. Hope to document our trip and enjoy time with her!
Mabuhay bro!! hi tito!! mabuhay po kayo!! it's great to see kababayans and i love watching your channel!! hoping to hook up with other street photographers once you visit Manila!! rock on bro!
Hey, Thank you for sharing this recipe, can you double check that the "WB Shift" was all zeroed out? and one more question...in the video you said "shadows at -2, but later you showed it at +2?? should I Over or Under Expose?
I love the Fujifilm Recipes so much, saves me a lot of time as compared to when I was using a non-fuji camera (smartphone, etc) just to edit in Lightroom and try to simulate a film stock. Bought the XT2 2 days ago and I'm having so much fun with the film recipes. I can just take straight out of the camera images (with minor edit sometimes). My go-to is your Portra 400 recipe and Kodak Gold 200 for really sunny days ^_^
6:51 What is it in this photo and in some photos that adds a nice blurred blur that looks like a dream, but not exactly a dream look? I want to use it in my photos, how do I get it?
Thanks, your images look great on my tablet, looking forward to loading the recipe on my fujis and playing with it. Really enjoyed the way you shared the day with your dad too!
I love that it seems to be an international rule that if you visit your dad, he’s going to tell you where you can park 😂 Really cool recipe. As you said in the beginning, it now leans a bit towards what the Portra 400 recipes do, but this definitely makes it more versatile than the „pure“ Portra or Kodachrome recipes.
I was starting to believe you hardly had any Filipino heritage in you which is not a knock to you since you there are millions of Filipinos who migrated to the US and totally grew up there and exposed to American culture, which is totally fine. I have a lot of Fil-am friends, relatives, and Americans. They are all cool an nice to hang out with. Its just refreshing to know that you grew up with a Filipino household around you since I have followed you for close to five years now. Keep shooting.
I was wondering if you had any recommendations for film when it comes to a fujica and where would be the best place to buy film at Edit: man you really inspire me to get out more and take more pictures. Thank you so much for these videos. They are all so amazing
Hi, congratulations on the channel. I'm the happy owner of a fuji x100f and I'm using your settings. And I have to say that they work really well even if I don't find them really that close to the original kodachrome. But maybe it's me who's not particularly good at capturing light. I have seen and read dozens of recipes for fuji but in no case is a comparison between the two supports shown. I think it would be nice to be able to see in a video the comparison between the original photos in film with the photos taken with the fuji and the various recipes so as to show the various similarities. Obviously all with similar subjects and backgrounds. I don't know if this is a good idea for an upcoming video. : )
www.jackandsuedrafahl.com/magazines/photographic/pdf/1990%207%20Super%20Film%20Shootout.pdf Finally the proof of what I thought! It is velvia the real kodachrome similator and not classic chrome!
saved this video a while ago for my x100v rental and just realizing now that you're using an xpro3 smh. do these recipes still translate/give relatively the same look even though the cameras are different?
Hi king, congratulations for the video and thanks for sharing the recipe. One question: I recently got a Fujifilm X-T20 and I can't name the modified custom ones. I looked in the instruction manual but couldn't find it. How did you name the setting to "Kodachrome"?. Thanks and sorry for the inconvenience.
Respect, now being from Detroit I see many videos on TH-cam about robberies and treachery happening in San Fran. How does that effect how you move with your equipment?

So cool seeing you hang with your old man like that. Super wholesome & sick pics
Thanks for the video. I lost my dad when I was a kid so it's good to see you spending time with your dad. I like the look of the photos, too.

Not all Fujifilm cameras allow name modding, I have an X100F and can't do it too =(

Shame what the leadership of city has allowed the downtown area to denigrate to. The areas you’ve shown are so pretty.
The word you’re trying to use is degenerate.
