Breath of Fire 3 was the first of the BoF games I played, followed by 4, and both games completely and permanently changed my notion of what a "dragon" was and could be. Between the incredibly original stories and the addictive combat, to this day, those two are amongst some of my favourite Capcom games. They deserve a reboot.
Yeah, but they would need to either get all the original VAs on board or remaster the VAs from the original. The voices are stuck in my head for ages now. Played especially the first one to death!
As someone who doesn't normally like those open world crime games like GTA and Saints Row, Sleeping Dogs felt like it was made just for me. What a great game.
@@CulturedVultures No, Capcom broke my heart but I still love them. It's an abusive realtionship. 😂 But if I had to give you something else I'd say games like Jade Cocoon, Boktai, Zone of the Enders, Spectrobes, Blinx, Lost Oddysey, Siren or the Darkness are still on my mind.
That entry on Resistance reminds me of when their CEO, Hiroki Totoki, recently made that statement that Sony doesn't have enough original IP. _How f---king insulting_ that was; they really have just been *abandoning* their IP left, right and center over the past few generations. It sucks being a PS1, PS2 or PS3 fan during the PS5 era, boy. They'll waste millions and years on crap like Concord, but a new Sly Cooper, Ape Escape, Motorstorm, Folklore, Legend of Dragoon or WipeOut? Oh, _that_ doesn't make financial sense, somehow. That's why I don't have a PS5; their current leadership are a bunch of absolute boneheads... Anyway, great list! I especially like seeing _Beastazoria_ here, lol. Seriously though, Bloody Roar was a great choice and it's cool to see you guys just edit in that part where you correct yourselves; way to own up to the mistake before the comments have at it. I do really like the name Beastazoria now though... maybe someday Eighting will get to make a _spiritual_ successor and they can use that name, lol!
For those Resistance fans out there, there was a killer original game for the PSP called Resistance: Retribution(way better than the garbage Vita game. And I would highly recommend playing it on the Vita, as the dual analog sticks takes the experience to the next level.
I'm one of those: WipEout, my favourite game franchise ever! It was the very meaning of the "PlayStation Generation" in the mid 90s., now left to a tired series of "remaster of the remasters": WipEout HD/Fury used content form the two PSP games, WipEout Omega Collection is a mixture of the 2 PSP games plus 2048 from Vita... It's been ages since a lot of fans from all over the World request a new official chapter for WipEout, no requests got answers of course! Shame on you, Sony.
Idea for a video: games franchises which haven’t had an official entry for years, but games have been made by people who love the originals so much that their game might as well be a sequel. I’m thinking of cases like how Gunlord X is basically Turrican 4.
The only reason they won't make a new F-Zero is due to Mario Kart. They don't think they would make the money back that they would have to spend making it.
@screamingatstars66 it isn't a full fledged new F-Zero title though. The creator actually did say we wouldn't get a proper sequel/new game because of Mario Kart.
other videogames speilberg helped produce, in addition to the medal of honor series, include the boom box games, adventures if tintin, the dig, indiana jones, and even a filmmaking simulation game called "directors chair". he even signed off on Atari's infamous E.T.!
True Crime was great. The sound tracks were on par with the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series and introduced me to a lot of music I might have otherwise never heard. I've only played the first 2 Breath of Fire games and only ever beat the first one. Still on my list though. Solid RPGs.
The Strike Series is one that needs a reboot. Since Nuclear Strike, nothing. They still make Ace Combat, I don't see why a Jungle Strike or Desert Strike remake isn't in the cards.
Mister Nuts I would love to see someone bring back and make it into a 3D collectathon would just be awesome ! Could be the new Conker or the Conker's Quest that I still want !
I just want Microsoft to give up the Banjo rights and just let Playtonic have it back, since it is all Rare devs that made that company. Could have a Yooka Laylee and Banjo crossover.
I wish they'd make a HD2D Breath of Fire 1, 2 and 3, 4 already looks pretty decent maybe just clean up the visuals a bit. There are people out there who love these retro games, for some it's nostalgia, others the games are just fun to play and a welcome break from modern games. If Octopath Traveler 1 & 2 have shown us anything; it's that people still love this style of game, and there's definitely a market for them. Lufia is another forgotten and dead franchise that deserves better and a remake of them would be nice.
I suspect it's an evolution of the similar problem that's a bit of trivia. (I hate that I cannot find a source for it but I recall it on talk radio). At least in the 2000s bowling alleys have the /same/ number of games as in past decades such at the 70s. However there are fewer leagues. People are bowling the same amount but as individuals and not groups.
People are lazy. If they want to play games together it’s easy to do over the internet now, rather than going to a friend’s house. Game design has followed that trend and largely ignored local multiplayer, other than fighting and party games.
I'm really disappointed in the game industry & how they have utterly FAILED at Game Creation. We've lost so many game genres. Bring back 2D, 2.5D, 3D, low poly PS1 style, cell shaded, you name it. Anything to save us from this drought of creativity within video games. One day i hope we will see a massive improvement in the way games can be made. Currently it seems like the process of game development can be so unintuitive. It's unintuitive to the point that it restricts the use from a lot of creative & artistic people. Game development is so heavily math & code based that it does not motivate or interest a lot of talented people. Talented people that could be a massive benefit to the game development process but currently that process is not good at incorporating those people. Hypothetically Even if that person got good at game development, there is still so many aspects of game development that need to be improved. Improving game development methods could benefit so many different things.
"Best Capcom rpg until Dragon's Dogma." Don't let the Megaman Battlenetwork community hear you. (Granted people consider MMBN (and pokemon) competitive collectable trading card games.)
Actually Boom Blox should get another game, that was way more fun than it had any right to be. Think the first night after I picked it up my arm was sore from playing it for like 6 hours straight.
The only four video games that need to be remastered are final fantasy x-2, dance dance revolution, Tatsunoko versus Capcom and megaman x command mission. ❤
I wouldn't mind a Mega Man X Command Missions remaster or PC port. DDR, i don't think people like those anymore. FFX-2 would be nice so you can bundle it with FFX HD.
I would love to see Breath of Fire to return using smoothened Playstation/PSP-like graphics & audio. The art was fire. Pun not intended. Keeping the graphics from getting all bloated should keep the cost of development low. Ditto with Dino Crisis (that ignores 3) and Parasite Eve (that either ignores 3rd Birthday or brings Aya back from the extended best ending in some convoluted way). AND BRING BACK DARKSTALKERS AND MEGA MAN LEGENDS YOU BLOODY WANKERS!!!
Tenchu - whilst there have been sequels, they all progressively got worse sadly. I would take a modern remake, but ONLY if it captures the strength of the original
So much is gonne even the most famous icons back in the day get rarely 1 release in the lifetime of a console take for instance: Mario, link, sonic, solid snake the list goes on. Game Developing has gotten so expensive that 1 AAA game cost almost as much as a Blockbuster Movie.
