- Todays adventure takes us to Naas in Kildare, Maudlins cemetery has two huge Pyramid style mausoleums belonging to the De Burg family.
As we walked around we noticed a hidden railed area.
On closer inspection we noticed it was a hidden family vault.
we go down the steps and find seven coffins inside.

Hello Sue. My goodness what you go through to show us the inside of mausoleums, crypts, vaults and anything you run into !!!!! I believe i can speak on behalf of all your faithful viewers in giving you a huge THANK YOU your way. As always another great video and yes i am still in love with beautiful Ireland. Take care and God bless you.❤🙏
Thanks Michael, it was a fantastic experience
Wow! That was insane! As if two fantastic pyramids wasn't enough, those coffins in the crypt made the hair on my neck stand up 😮. Great work guys.👍😊
Hi Hans, it was amazing, wish I could have gone in further
Oooohhhh, I loved this! What an incredible find Sue and GV! Beautiful and intact coffins with gorgeous stud work on them. They look as if they have never been disturbed. This was a wonderful adventure for all who take a peek at Irish history. Touché! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Thanks Janet, wasn't it wonderful!! I loved that each style of coffin is different, from red velvet to studded and quilted, lots of money in the coffins, great craftsmanship ❤️❤️
Ancestors of Chris de Burg; Thomas de Burg 1813-1872 of Oldtown Naas Kildare Ireland.>>>>>>The son,Eric de Burg married Mary Fanshawe and they had two daughters. He was the maternal grandfather of singer and songwriter Chris de Burg and was Chief of the General Staff in India.>>>>>>>>Christopher John Davison known professionally as Chris de Burg born 15th October 1948,spouse Diane Davison, parents Maeve Emily de Burg (from Wexford) and Charles Davison. Thanks to the two of you very much for showing us round these wonderful graveyards and explaining the history of the de Burg Family. The graves of the people in the lovely graveyard ties in with the family members in the public domain.A great history lesson as well as a graveyard tour.
You know Chris mam lives down the road fro. Us a few miles, she lives in a castle, pretty cool
An absolutely epic adventure! The views inside the crypt were incredible! Thanks!
Thanks William, appreciate it
Again, Sue and G V, your diligence pays off. Wow what a find on that hidden tomb. Keep up the fantastic work.
Thanks John, imagine those coffins brand new, I bet they were stunning
Loved the quilted and studded coffins; from in front of the strange little gap below them, pity the bone, approach the door, add a slimy, creepy, steep staircase with lots of vines, and a chivalrous man helping his fair lady ascend! What do we get??? The recipe for another truly AMAZING discovery from Sue and GV! The pyramids look so much nicer now. Thank you for this epic adventure. Take care XXX. Deb of Oz.
It was Epic Deb, those coffins, I so wanted to get a better view, one looked red with a crown, much like the Lords underneath st Michans Church
Wow! What a spectacular adventure! From the mausoleums to the gorgeous ivy-covered angel, to the stunning find of all the coffins! You must have been beyond excited to see inside and capture such stunning footage!! Thanks for adventuring down those steep steps for us. What a payoff! And probably my favorite quote was GV’s: “I’m covered in the 1800s, guys!” 😊❤
Thanks Bridget, GV is so funny the amount of video we edit out with silly jokes and us laughing until our sides hurt..having said that I nearly didn't go down but as always curiosity gets me every time and wow it was worth it
I think this is one of your best finds. Some of those coffins look really classy (especially the one on the right with diagonal patterns)
I bet that was like a quilted material, also one red one, though faded had a crown on it
@@SerenitySueGraveyards a crown ! Wow that’s even more interesting
Yes it's the one at the back right kind of red looking
Interesting! Loved seeing that hidden crypt with all the coffins.
Great find Don, always amazing to see coffins like this
Very good video and lovely cemetery. Nice history and that pyramid is amazing
.
It's the third pyramid mausoleum I've found now in Ireland and I'm always amazed by them
Despite the age for those coffins they are in pretty great shape. That covered vault is just amazing. Going down those steps is going back in time. Beautiful. Thank you guys for sharing this❤
Thanks so much Evilla, yes definitely a step back in time
@@SerenitySueGraveyards when you were pointing at the crypt your arm went in front of the camera, it looked red and inflamed, also bruised, are you ok? Sorry I missed your live but as usual UTube didn’t notify of the live. I checked to see if you had done anything new 😢. God Bless both of you ✝️
No it's grand probably the lighting or my tattoo I have but I'm good honestly x
@@SerenitySueGraveyards ok , I even stopped the video and zoomed in on it on my phone. It looked nasty. I was worried, but good to know you’re ok. 🌹🤗
Yes, I'm all good thanks, afew stingy nettles and brambles but it's worth it
Wow another great video and ypur poor wee arms getting stung with the nettles sue . Well I am just back from Clones I had a great few days they had a lovely memorial in the famine grave yard and a new atatue put up it was amazing to be back home in monaghan take care stay safe guys god bless 💚☘ I dont usualy like Ivy but the Ivy around the angel is beautiful 💚☘
Thanks Margaret, ahh lovely glad you had a nice time
Looking forward to this Sue…love going for walks with you and GV
Thanks Eddie
That angel statue that was so gorgeous and in amazingly good shape. That view in the maseleom was so cool. That first good shot you got of inside I was Wow!
You should think about doing a book of photography.
Thanks Ben, appreciate it so much 🙏
Thanks for sharing this lovely, peaceful cemetery with us. I love all the flowers and that angel was stunning.
Hi Joan, the angel was beautiful
William Hazlett from western Pennsylvania U.S.A. is waiting...
This is worth the wait
Are you related to the Hazlett family from near Downhill in Northern Ireland?
The grass is like a beautiful flowering meadow. The ivy is also beautiful the way it drapes the stones. Thank you for walking us through this lovely old cemetery. 🌷
I love your videos. New subscriber here!
Another great video much appreciated Sue 👍🏻🇮🇪💚☘️🙂
Thanks Mark, definitely one of my best finds
Awesome Sue! Thanks for braving the green slime and showing us the inside!
Oh Barbara it was slimy but I put my hand on it to steady myself, yuk
Hello Sue, The pyramids are amazing and what makes the even more special is how they laid the blocks at double angles...like a V pattern on each side. Even better than Nicholas Cages pyramid in Louisianna, its new and he's not even in it yet! Looks like they did a great job restoring them too. What always blows my mind as well is how good of condition the coffins are in for their age and how ornately decorated they are. Each one different with their own unique patterns. Nice job and thanks for going down the mossy dirty hole!
Hi Wally, they sure are fantastic to see, as for the coffins, they are outstanding. The colours I bet were different too, like the red one that's now faded, quilted and studded
I gotta say, you're videos keep getting better !
Thanks Robert, I'm getting older, less brave but when I seen the steps I had to try go down
Oh I was shouting, don't slip , don't fall ! That was so worth the chance of a fall , absolutely captivating and gave me a chuckle too . Fantastic adventure , beautiful place , thank you x
Thanks Caron, definitely don't want to fall in there lol
Utterly amazing- That vault with so many caskets! Thanks for sharing
Very welcome, the coffins looked amazing
Lol " curiosity got the best of me" lol I love it!!😂 24:16
🤣🤣🤣
Good morning sue and GV hope your both ok and well. Looking forward to this thanks sue. Have a good day and take care 🥰🥰🥰💖💖💖
Thanks David
@@SerenitySueGraveyards your welcome 🤗 sue Xx
Wow ! That was awesome! I also liked the one that had a thigh bone on the floor. It was huge ! Thank you for enduring the cobwebs and yucky green stuff ! Have a great weekend !
Thanks Denise, you too
Beautiful video this one. Love the large vault, the caskets looked well preserved ❤😊
Thanks Helen, they were Beautiful
Fantastic video Sue and GV. Very unfortunate that the cemetery is so overgrown, but perhaps with the De Burgh mausoleum, 🤔 it may be a good thing, to help prevent vandalism. The coffins ⚰️ seemed to be in fairly good condition, have no idea where that thigh bone came from. The pyramid was totally awesome!
They did a great job with the renovation. I see a couple of graves that have been mowed around, probably the families keeping the graves looking well cared for. But for the rest of the cemetery, the families have probably all passed away, but the community should take more of an interest in the cemetery and keep it in better condition. Thank you very much again Sue and GV, for another great video. Have a great weekend. 😊
Thanks Michael
@@SerenitySueGraveyards You are more than welcome!
I always find it amusing when folks who explore old cemeteries are so surprised when they come across coffins….it’s pretty much the place one would find coffins, don’t you think?
Yes Laurel but most don't walk in and see them like this 🫣
@@SerenitySueGraveyards so true! By the way I live in Oregon and just found your fascinating channel. I could listen to your wonderful accent for hours! I’m going to enjoy looking at your older posts and then keeping up with the new ones. 🥰😎
@Laurel Rico thanks so much for that really appreciate it 😊 love from Ireland
The green green ( tall ) grass of home...great walk.
Tom.
Thanks Tom ❤️
Thank you Sue, for another magnificent video. 🙋🏾♀️👍🏽😍❤️🌹🌺💕😘🇵🇷🇺🇲
Thanks Cathy ❤️
This one was great Sue what a walk through, those coffins were made with pride back then, some are over 100 a hundred and 50 years old are stunning how there still preserved each one is a little different how the years go by the handles ornation around the side each one is unique in its own way great video.⚰⚰😉
I can just imagine the vibrant colours that they were back then, some studded, I've seen one that looked like velvet and others leather on my tours, absolutely amazing coffins back then
Terri Vines from SUMMERVILLE SC loves this channel🇱🇷🇺🇸
Thanks x x x
Wow. It is such a privilege to look inside that mausoleum. The coffins are absolutely beautiful and in marvelous condition. Just wonderful. Thank you so much Sue xx Teresa xx 🇦🇺❤
Thanks Teresa, yes definitely beautiful coffins
What a find! Sue, you and GV work so well together. I must say, you two sound like kids in a candy store lol. Thankyou for your dedication and compassionate video although I did have a good chuckle at times.God bless from Australia 💚
Lol yes, I definitely get way too over excited sometimes lol
That was incredibly amazing, good grief guys be careful. Truly a step back in time, if it wasn't for you two I would never have experienced anything like this. So very much appreciated. I did laugh a couple times though at your daredevil behavior. Safe journey's during your explorations. Eek.
It was a fantastic place really loved it
That angel to Gladys grave is beautiful so life like , it was lovely hearing all the birds , the pyramid crypts were amazing ❤ that creepy old vault was massive loved the peek at those coffins ⚰ ❤

So beautiful. Thank you Sue. ❤️
Looking inside the vault is just amazing..thank you for taking us with you
Hi Robert, it was amazing
And the last few graves of possibly relatives of Chris De Burgh. I remember GV telling me of Chris’ mother staying at Wexford. What a coincidence finding these graves !
Hi Rezal, they have to be related that name is not heard of much theses days
Jeez Sue, you scare me when you climb hither and yon! I love everything you find though. What an amazing place. That Angel should have pictures of it in a museum , it’s just stunning.
Loved the angel Hazel, oh you know me I have to go looking
Sue you should get a worm cam to have a peek around those metal doors.
Have one Joseph, to be honest they are only good to see very close up
I don’t know what y’all do for a living when you aren’t making videos, but have you ever considered organizing travel tours? ✈️
I’d pay to come for 7 - 10 days from the states and have y’all take us to some of your favorite locations! Honestly, when I watch either of your channels I feel like I’m in a Jane Eyre novel, I’d pay for that holiday! 🏰 🪦
Hi Vow, I'm a special needs assistant, GV works on boats, getting them ready for people travelling. Well you're very welcome to come and we'd happily show you around, I'd love that
Hey Sue!! Another awesome adventure!! If I ever get to come over there, I’m hoping we can still adventure together. I’m looking forward to it.
I always find it strange how part of my surname is pronounced, you say burg and I've heard of dryburg , drybouorgh and mine dryburgh pronounced the same as Edinburgh. My surname means dry broch supposedly. INTERESTING VID TA.
@@SerenitySueGraveyards oh wow how fun would that be!!!
Yes for sure
Wow! The coffins look so good for being so old. And their not damaged. This was awesome. Thanks
Thanks Mary, it was awesome to see them too

Sue - you and GV capture so many incredible images with your cameras .Perhaps think of having them made into photos ,cards ,posters and selling them ? Tis just an idea .⭐💚🌹
Thanks Gabs, we had thought of a calendar at some stage, a subscriber had suggested a calender or book. Maybe someday I will x x thanks so much
Getting dirty is all in a days work🙂This is an amazing place going back in time❤️ I just wish they could keep the grass cut. Those coffins were awesome and all different. One looked like it had gold paint. Yall have a great weekend❤️
One that looked like a red colour seem to have a gold crown

I missed the premiere 😢. Thought it was for another day. Also no notification.Beautiful cemetery and unusual with the pyramids! Finding all those caskets in that vault! This was an incredible find!! You and Grave are like archeologists🤔. Wow thanks!
Don't feel bad i missed it too lol
@@LaurenFerrell885 I know. I just like to be with the crowd when everyone gets excited about a find. It’s like we are all there walking with them( except walking in wet grass and brambles😂)
I know Liz, youtube are playing up again, no notifications going out, makes it hard to get views but you're here now and for that I'm gratefull, it was stunning to see those coffins
This was just beautiful 🥀 I love your videos Sue ! 😊👋
Thanks so much 😊
Great video Sue! Thanks for the great finds!
Loved the crypt with the seven coffins! What an excellent find! I would have thought they would have fallen apart long ago!
The hollows under the platforms were interesting to say the least!
Would loved if you could have had a snake cam for the pyramid door!
I would enjoy seeing how the pyramid was constructed, as the stone is laid very differently than the Egyptian pyramids, and I wonder if it continues to the inside walls, as architecture is actually more my passion than the coffins, unless they were made in a unique way!
Hi Jeffrey, I have a snake cam but you need a torch too to light the area, as the snake cam doesn't provide enough, I've a video on here to show they are not great
Wow! Great video and history lesson thanks for sharing this story!
You're welcome
So glad you returned to check out the wonderful pyramids..but then that crypt 😲 that was amazing seeing inside i actually said wow out loud!! Love from London 😘
Thanks Maureen, wasn't it fantastic, definitely wow factor

Brilliant video, Thanks for sharing
Very welcome Deb
Thank guys for a awesome video! I counted 7 coffins. Thank you for not slipping on the steps Great video. Love your stories. So beautiful ❤
What a great place, the coffins were fantastic
Careful. A horde of ghosts may come after you, especially whilst you're sleeping and cause you nightmares for disturbing to their last resting place. No kidding. I've been through many cemeteries and love your interest and videos. One day I picked up an old relic or urn from a very old grave. Brought it to my room and one night I had the scariest dream. Extended arms started grabbing me and I started to sink like in the movies. I awoke up horrified. I had to get rid of those items fast and stay away from cemeteries. I did after yrs visit one old cemetery but didn't indulge or take any old souvenir
Thanks, we also do paranormal videos x
Fascinating, thank you very much for sharing...🙂🌹
Hi Jan, appreciate that
Thank you for another wonderful program.
Thanks a million 😊
Incredible that modern suburbia is just on the other side of the crumbling walls of that overgrown ancient cemetery.
It is crazy to see alright
Wow that place is amazing.
Thank you Sue ❤
Hi Nicola, I love this place, even more that we've discovered a hidden vault
Nice bonus find. Kids not brave enough to go and get their soccer ball back, lol.
Haha, well fair play to you for noticing the ball, I think we found 3 in there altogether
Beautiful. Thank you!
Thank you too!
Awesome video. Those pyramids were interesting.
That vault was a bit scary. I kept waiting for a vampire to jump up. Thank for being so curious and brave

When you were deciding whether or not to go in the entrance of the hidden area I was like Go Go and then when you were deciding whether to go down the steps I would have died if you didn't go. Then I thought it was cute the way you were whispering while looking at the coffins, like 2 explorers. Great Video, I can't believe all the studding on them.
Thanks Lora, not much stops me, if I can I will, if not ill send GV down haha, it was so worth it
