    Hey Tim,
    I was a Sprint user for 10 years and can't say enough good things about T-Mobile and this device. Ran the nexus 4 on HSPA+ averaging over 15 Mbps from various locations around Chicagoland. Thought that was enough for me until running T-Mobile LTE. I have seen speeds approaching 40 Mbps and I am averaging 25 Mbps around Chicago. Was thinking about heading back to sprint but one look at the LTE speeds is keeping me where I am for now. Let's see what spark brings us.

    It has always In previous versions of android like jelly bean and ice cream sandwich hidden the soft keys in videos. The immersive mode is able to now hide the soft keys in other apps like reading apps, or playing games hopefully the web browser as well!

    Hey Tim! Big fan. Great review. Got the phone myself, 32GB black. Was leaning towards the HTC One, but couldn't be happier I held out. Build quality is amazing, stock Android is clean and crisp, and the device is just a joy to use. Keep up the good work!

    My two friends have this phone, one white and one black. The black versions finish is much more soft than the white one. They both feel good but I prefer the feel of the black one.

    Great review !!!!! But I was a bit suppressed of your LTE speeds. I get on average 15 down and 3 up with T-Mobile on my nexus 4 on HSPA+. Is the low speed on Sprints LTE network always this low? Or is in just in your area?

    Just got this phone today after my Samsung Galaxy SIII hard bricked. Not even a USB jig would save it. Kind of bummed out about that. I'm still getting used to the fact that the Nexus 5 doesn't have capacitive buttons. Thanks for the excellent review!

    Been a Samsung owner since the S2, S3, Note 2, but I think I'll be going to LG for this device. Nobody has said anything bad about the Nexus 5 with the exception of the camera not being as high end as others but not an issue. No brainer!

    When you sit the phone down it doesn't scratch the lens, but it will scratch the protective cover, because it protrudes outwards and will eventually compromise the pictures you take! This is exactly why I don't care about how thin the device is and buy a case, like a Otterbox Defender Series or at least a case that will protect all parts!

    Awesome phone so far. It's just that Sprint sucks where I'm located. Most of the Sprint employees didn't even know some of their phones had uicc/sim cards in it.
    For 50 bucks more, I got Google's 32 gb unlocked version so I can switch carriers if Sprint doesn't step up it's LTE coverage.

    Great phone good review but older Android and Samsung has spoiled me. Lol. I need a menu button. Am I the only one who thinks the 4 button layout or the menu, home, back layout is better?? I like changing settings for preference or if a problem arises, I don't like looking for the menu/settings button(at least the galaxy nexus had it pop up in the same place next to the back button). I And the lack of microsd support irks me to no end. Nothing stores to sd anymore making little games huge and 16gb of onboard memory damn near useless if u want to play a lot of simple games or a few high end games. My 64gb micro sd has been rendered useless by Googles change in policy...or is it Samsung change in policy?? Idk. I have a Gnote2 but not being able to store to sd without rooting sucks. And in playing with the Nexus no menu button, no sd support and a small battery sucks... ijs

    The only thing I don't like so far is the limited volume controls. Either they aren't there or they are hidden. I like to leave my phone on so that it will ring if a call comes in (I'm on call a lot overnight) however I don't want notifications to wake me. If anyone sees this and has used an app to fix this problem, please reply with an app that works. There are a lot of them.

    People keep talking about how awesome it is that the navbar disappears and how that's a 4.4 kitkat feature. It is not this exists on all versions of Jellybean as well.
    It makes me wonder, do reviewers actually know anything about the features and specs they are talking about or do most of them just parrot off the market page for the product?

    • @pulkittyagi1990
      @pulkittyagi1990 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      kitkat has new immersive mode which gives any app full screen support. in earlier version on video players and youtube had the access to this api but now every app has access to full screen !

    Once again definitely hate the persistent search bar at the top of the home screen. Hope someone develops a rom that get's rid of it without killing the Google Search option. They already have a myriad of optional ways to get to Google Now... Really Sucks!!!

    One of the biggest pluses that kitkat has is when you open the dialer & press on the search you can type in pizza, Chinese or hospital, whatever you want & it will give you all the places that fall into those criteria, chan's Chinese, Paulie's pizza or whatever hospital is around or closest to your location, in addition it will also in case you want to save the number or know how to get to whichever place it will also have the maps address & directions along their website, Google +page & even a picture like a pizza hut logo in the photo; then you can save it or leave it as a recent call. That's a BIG BIG & UNIQUE FEATURE! but don't forget apple already has been working on this feature since 1990... so get ready to get sued....haha efing apple, pathetic.
