What an awesome show this was. My high school drama club got some free tickets for a taping in ‘82/‘83. We had a blast! Afterwards, Nancy, Mindy, and Kim came out for Q&A for quite a long time. They were really very nice to everyone.
I just realized seeing this that the characters of "Blair and Joe" were the precursors to "Zack and Slater" from Saved by the Bell. Same thing really. 2 friends that had a love hate relationship. One with Black hair, one with Blonde hair. They met in school, etc.
The Facts of Life, the best show throughout my adolescence. A little bit of each of them was part of my character. I must say though I spent my entire year at 12 years old on roller skates. Just like Tootie
Tootie and I had the same Orthodontist in the late 70s like 1979-1980 I never saw her there but her pix was on the wall with all the other kids that went there.
Grew up watching great tv shows like Facts of Life and I am grateful for it. All the women seem really down to earth and I am glad that they won an award.
Kim Fields mother was also an excellent actress, abusive mother to Janet Jackson's Penny on Good Times.Chip Fields.Loved to hate her on that show!!Talent runs in the family...
I watched the show when it originally aired. The Facts of Life episodes are on a playlist on here. I started watching a couple of weeks ago. I'm on season 5 and just watched the episode in which Kim Fields' mom, Chip, was on the show. (Today's date is January 18, 2017.)

I met Charlotte Rae back in the late nineties, she was so nice, kind of reserved very soft spoken. We chatted for awhile at our gathering...I asked for her autograph which she gave me. Truly a very nice woman! RIP Mrs. GARRETT
This was the first show that I got hooked on, when I move to the US from Brasil. I used to watch it on TV after coming home from high school in 1986. Great memories! ,🤗
Yes, but that was only in Season 1, and it was because Kim Fields was still so short. The people who took over control of the show (and were responsible for getting rid of the headmaster and four of the girls) insisted that Tootie get rid of the skates due to the silliness of it.
atlantic1119 season 1 was awesome with the quirky headmaster ( I though he sort of flirted with Blair but obviously that would have been abominable inasmuch as he was a faculty member in a school). I liked the large eclectic cast of the first year. I remember the blonde girl and Blair’s clique. The producers probably felt the large cast would not be effective. They were indeed correct because Jo turned out to be a great character especially her interactions with Blair. The ratings went up the second season.

What an awesome show this was. My high school drama club got some free tickets for a taping in ‘82/‘83. We had a blast! Afterwards, Nancy, Mindy, and Kim came out for Q&A for quite a long time. They were really very nice to everyone.
Cool!
My favourite show too"facts of live"brings back sweet memories when I immigrated to Canada from Guyana in 1984.
My favorite in my young days.such memories
I still watch this show on me tv. It has always been my favorite.
I just realized seeing this that the characters of "Blair and Joe" were the precursors to "Zack and Slater" from Saved by the Bell. Same thing really. 2 friends that had a love hate relationship. One with Black hair, one with Blonde hair. They met in school, etc.
😌... Watching the old clips really made for Such Nostalgic moments for me💖 those were the days✨💫✨
The Facts of Life, the best show throughout my adolescence. A little bit of each of them was part of my character. I must say though I spent my entire year at 12 years old on roller skates. Just like Tootie
Loved the Facts of Life! Saw Lisa sing from her Album at Lakeview Baptist in Vermilion, Ohio in the 80's! Kristen Rivera
Classic, I loved this show.
Wow brings back memories, loved the facts of lives . I was growing up ❤️❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍👍
Loved TFOL. Those girls had a lot of spirit, and it was just a heartwarming show.
Congrats girls... loved growing up watching this show that showed girls our same ages going through what we all did back then.
Tootie is still a beauty
Reginald Lott yaaasss😍
Take the word still out of the sentence, and it will become an actual compliment.
Absolutely loved the facts of life and it was so wonderful to see them all together in this clip. RIP Charlotte Rae
RIP for Cloris Bleachmann.
Tootie and I had the same Orthodontist in the late 70s like 1979-1980 I never saw her there but her pix was on the wall with all the other kids that went there.
They’re so graceful and still looks great 👍🏾!!!
It was a great show and taught you a lot of good lessons. I only wish they still made good shows like this.
That episode on Good Times when Penny's abuse was discovered was gut wrenching only second to when James died.
@@bmbutler2 I felt the same way! First, I didn't know the actress that played Penny's mother was Kim Fields' mother! But those episodes (I think was a 2 or 4 part episode??) I got goose bumps when she held up the iron and the look on Penny's face..even tho they didn't show the actual act of burning her with the iron, you knew..and also James?? My favorite actor on the show...he was the best. I just loved him and show wasn't the same without him. But yes, when the episode of when he died...you just really felt it.
I've always admire CHIP because she had KIM at such a young age and where MOST young mothers would have quit acting, CHIP continued acting and got KIM to do it as well, that's so amazing
@@tiana1017 I agree and her other daughter acts as well. She was on the show Brandy when they were in college. Brandy and her played roommates. She's her mother's twin.
We will Miss you Ms Garrett! Thanks for the great memories !
Nancy McKeon still looks great.
THEY IS NOT US No. And. Yes. Good. Hi. Thanks
I grew up watching the show. All of em r such lovely ladies.
My favorite was Blair and Jo's friendship.
Erica Brodie , yes their friendship is what kept Facts of Life on for such a long time
@@michaelglass4701 agreed!
Erica, mine too! Blair was my favorite!
Wow, wow wow, I grew up with this show as a little kid watched it all the time it was one of my favorite shows have not seen it in years but i can still recognize their faces here. This is the 80's right here.
It's nice to see that they all still remain friends, you don't always see that with actors/actresses from tv shows.
Great memories! ,🤗
Lisa whelchel is beautiful
she is, but the actress who played Jo is prettier imo
Lawrence C jo was pretty but it was sort of hel back giver her “ tomboy” persona.
Eddie Groff , yes she is 😊👍
@@kalevala29 no way you jerk
ah, omg! I dont believe how wonderful the show was. memories!
I was Tootie...when my mom would say 'take off those skates, or don't skate in the house', I could argue, but Tootie does it!😄
Yes, but that was only in Season 1, and it was because Kim Fields was still so short.
@@analogkid4957 It was one of the first shows I remember seeing Molly Ringwald on.
I loved this show growing up. I hope my Nieces watch the re-runs.
I just love this show! It always makes me laugh and makes me so happy! But my absolute favorite old tv shows are Bewitched, The Brady Bunch, The Facts Of Life and Three's Company!
Xena Summers I agree with you i have one more show That Girl
