Interesting theory: the color of each character's eyes tells us something about them.
Pink is often associated with innocence and femininity, correlating to some of Natsuki's mannerisms, as well as her relative age.
Purple can be associated with mystery and independence, much like how Yuri's mind seems confusing to the character and that she professes early on to being somewhat of a loner.
Blue is attributed to sadness, a hint at Sayori's worsening depression.
Last of all, green is associated with greed (usually financial), and is often used by Disney to convey evil (Maleficent, anyone?), which gives away not only Monika's role in the story, but also her motive.
Whether the developer meant for this or not, I think it's really interesting how the eye color of each character says something about them.
Just food for thought.

Since there is no context to the situation that has unfolded, I can come up with three possible reasons as to why a person would set a garden on fire:
A.) The narrarator has tried to enact revenge,
B.) Something is really wrong with their head,
Or,
C.) This is just a fictional poem that doesn't need such a deep analysis on.

At first, you assume Sayori waking up late is a part of her scatterbrained nature. The fact she also keeps her blazer open and the collar untidy also checks out. I believe she talks about keeping her hair short because she wasn’t able to care for her hair while it’s longer. These small details about her tardiness, to her unkempt appearance, and personal hygiene all indicate her suffering from depression.

The way they show Sayori sleeping in late & having an overly positive attitude to everyone around her is a really accurate depiction of depression….so many little details that I’m sure made those of us that struggle with it relate to her

I think it might be both, and also keep in mind that she has severe depression and when that happens it's common for it to be hard to get out of bed. (Why she's always late)

The only two playthroughs I've watched of this game are this one and Jacksepticeye's, and I love how Jack actually does the voices, while Mark just uses his own for all of them except for his own character
