I can’t stand it, I just make sure I have enough blanks and health left to go around before I’m toe-to-toe. But I finally did what I thought would take me so long to do.

This is the greatest sentence I have ever heard.

I could never finish the character ending stages... i could beat the Dragun with a well made arsenal, but you lose all your stuff after you get the true gun(with the true bullet). You go back to having 6 half-hearts worth of lives, and whatever the character is using during that particular scene, in their past, the past that they're supposed to kill.

I never thought you would do a review on my favorite rouge-like of all time but here it is. I couldn't even make a review this good and I think you summed up what makes this game so good so well that I don't need to explain why I love it. This is a short, sweet, and serious review of an amazing game. If you don't have it, well, consider purchasing it and support the amazing devs at Dodge Roll. They deserve it.
Yess bro one of the best games I've ever played. I have 150 hours on it and only just now have beaten all 5 stages - Everyone should buy this game it's amazing
I'm back here several years later after finally picking up the game, and I have to say this game is so genuinely awesome and it's made me better at video games. I love roguelikes, but usually I pick more strategy-based ones like Slay the Spire and Dicey Dungeons. I've never been good at bullet hells. But over the past month or two I've put over 150 hours on this game and gone from dying to gatling gull to beating the lich hitless. It's an awesome experience and I highly recommend giving it a try.
Hell yeah I fucking love this game, been playing it since 2016 as well. I'm happy that it's going to get some more attention again now that it had some expansions released.
It's finally published and now is being reviewed by the quality control departments of the major platforms(except pc which could probably already be released but hasn't because that'd be unfair for console players)
After watching this review I kept this game in my mind for years and now I finally bought it. The gameplay is one of the most layered and fun experiences I've ever had
Canthro the Canthro I wish every Dunkey video was longer, but at the same time I really respect him for not dragging them out to 10 minutes. He's da best
It's also the end credits song tho tbf but with words. Source: literally just got recommended this video after finishing the game on the 4 main characters. Still so much to unlock tho, and if you haven't brought it in the past year since OP commented then pls do now
Dunkey thank you SO MUCH for giving this game the spotlight it DESERVES. I have poured and sold my heart and SOUL into this game. The guns, the flavor, the details the CO-OP the bosses, the hidden rooms, the mini-games, the chests, JUST-!!! There's so much that wasn't even covered in this video to enjoy. You guys want an honest to god score? 9/10. It is that. God. Damn. Good. The lore is amazing, the characters are incredible, the BACKSTORIES. Just- its so much more than just "a Binding of Isaac/Nuclear Throne" clone. It's way- way- UP AND AWAY MORE. It's that perfect level of difficult that you slowly master until beating a boss you ONCE thought was hard is NOTHING- but HOW IN THE HELL DO YOU BEAT THE ONE AFTER IT??? IMPOSSIBLE. and it just keeps going like that. Deeper and deeper as you get better and better. Almost everything you do or achieve unlocks guns or items to use in your next run. The layouts of the Gungeon and items are always random. The references are KILLER. I have logged 193 hours into playing this game and I will attest here and now that it is the BEST dungeon crawler/bullet hell game ever made.
When I first played ETG, I hated it so much because of its difficulty. I tried again and again, but I couldn’t get past the first floor. So, I uninstalled it. Until I decided to reinstall it because why not? I booted it up, and actually got to the second floor. I was incredibly impressed with myself and also relieving. Eventually, I kept making more and more progress to the point where my reflexes were sharper than steel, and I began to appreciate the game more. And then, I went through my first god run. Nothing compares to the amount of dopamine and adrenaline flowing through me during that event. And then, I beat the game (almost, since I died to the boss you fight when you kill a character’s past), and I thought to myself “That….. was fucking awesome.” ETG still holds a special place in my heart to this day. Not only as an amazing experience, not only something that made me like sports (I was bad at sports and hated that, but faster reflexes fixed that issue), but one of my favorite games of all time and the game that got me into my favorite video game genre; roguelikes (Also Hades and Dead Cells).
It's always weird to hear how people who don't play rogue likes describe rogue like games. The whole "it sends you back to the beginning" thing, or expecting "checkpoints" is a weird way to put it. Or how he feels compelled to "keep coming back" after he's beaten it. A run in games like this should take about a half hour, but the start or a run and the end of a run can't really be called the "beginning" or the "end" of the game respectively. It's about being able to play it infinitely through the enjoyment of gameplay and variety of content. Like an arcade classic, not really meant to be "beaten." You're constantly unlocking things, and that's the same kind of progress you'd feel in literally any other game. I have like 500 hours in the Binding of Isaac, because it's so nice to just sit down and beat my 1000th run and get some cool synergies with the game's 300 varied gameplay altering items. I dunno it's just funny how different rouge likes can seem to traditional experiences.
Gungeon does have a full ending, which can only be attained by embracing the rogue-like of it. You have to do several runs to make the bullet, kill the past with the characters, then do the real part of the game.
Not funny, but awful. Roguelikes only provide the illusion of difficulty, whereas checkpoint-based games provide the real thing without dredging up horrid arcade-era practices.
Lt. Stoner It's absolutely fantastic. If you're interested I'd suggest you start by watching a youtuber who plays the game regularly (my favorite is Northernlion, he's on like episode ~900 of the dlc). Don't start at the beginning, just watch their most recent ones and see what you can latch onto. The reason I suggest that is how with that game you can get a lot out of the meta experience of it. There are 400 some odd items in Isaac, not to mention the tarot cards and trinkets and transformations. It's one game that perfectly embodies the sentiment that "knowledge is power" and you can get so much better at it and so much more successful just by learning about it and seeing how experienced players make decisions. Hope you end up liking it, it's a great time.
it took me almost 60 hours to win this game and i loved every minute of it, highly recommended. so many funny guns in this thing. and there are secret levels that i have not yet defeated.
Good advice for people starting out is that it is not about progression through floors. The more you die, the more currency outside of the Gungeon you earn and the more weapons/items you can buy. Most things you have to purchase (or unlock) and once bought you probably won’t be able to go back to the standard set-up. Once I unlocked Gunther.. well primed Gungeoneers know the rest
I just love how the game references _everything._ you’ve got metal gear references aplenty, doom references, terminator references, 2001 space odyssey references, THERE ARE SO MANY DAMN REFERENCES
I just hate the fact that there isn't an obvious Terraria reference with how great and famous that game is, and there's even a Hyper Light Drifter reference.
This reminds me of "Wizards of Legend" which has similar mechanics, except a bit less shooting but it still sends you back to the beginning. Definitely inspired by "Enter the Gungeon" and other rogue-like games.
Bootleg I just beat Wizard for the first time, that is a great game. I read somewhere that devs openly reported that they were inspired by enter the gungeon to make Wizard
I'm super upset that I just learned about this channel. Content is fantastic, and none of the videos are 10 minutes and 1 second long. It's a breath of fresh air.

This is a short, sweet, and serious review of an amazing game. If you don't have it, well, consider purchasing it and support the amazing devs at Dodge Roll. They deserve it.
This game really makes you FEEL like you live in America.
But is it compatible with the Grush?
YungRento Enter the thinking about an mmo adult game

Yess bro one of the best games I've ever played. I have 150 hours on it and only just now have beaten all 5 stages - Everyone should buy this game it's amazing
i have 32 hours and i can barely get past stage 1
But i don't like bullet hells :(
There are 6 stages
There's 6 stages though
I know there are 6 stages - But that would be a spoiler...
Enter the Gungeon is like a shoe that you have to break in at first
brilliant
although i'd say it's more like an ass you have to break in at first ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
No
But what was your rating?
*WHAT WAS YOUR RATING???*
Gun out of bullet
He said he feels compelled to come back even after beating it several times so I think it’s a safe bet to say he thinks it’s good.
if dunkey doesn't rate a game, that means it's REALLY good or REALLY bad
yari launcher out of klobbe
Probably 4/5
Hell yeah I fucking love this game, been playing it since 2016 as well. I'm happy that it's going to get some more attention again now that it had some expansions released.
Nohorse I'm so ready for AG&D
now that dunkey made a video about it*
It's finally published and now is being reviewed by the quality control departments of the major platforms(except pc which could probably already be released but hasn't because that'd be unfair for console players)
Looks cool but idk if it’s for me. 15 hours long for the main mission and you can’t die? Geeez that sounds insanely hard. Is it easy to die?
is compatible with labo?
Can it play on Grush?
Only with the fishing rod’s screen holder
No but it's free on the Ouya
Webbb I'm not sure if you're being serious or not but I guess nobody would be able to vouch for that anyway lol
Ya u need the "school shooter" pack
After watching this review I kept this game in my mind for years and now I finally bought it. The gameplay is one of the most layered and fun experiences I've ever had
Glad you reviewed one of my favorite games, but I kinda wish the video was longer
Canthro the Canthro I wish every Dunkey video was longer, but at the same time I really respect him for not dragging them out to 10 minutes. He's da best
Left the long one for some asscreepxD
Enter the Dunkgeon.
Thank you Gun Souls
Been playing this since it came out. This is probably my favorite independent game of all time.
Enter the Dunkgeon
Yes!
I actually read the title like that
Joe Lewis same

Man I fr got goosebumps when I listened to that ending
That's the menu song. THE MENU SONG.

You sold your heart?
Pirated89
i dont get whats this comment supposed to be
Pirated89 “the flavor”
what? you never heard of the "spice" item in the game? it's pretty popular.
You know Dr. Mungeon?

This video ages like fine wine for me. I still go back to it every now and again
You have to do several runs to make the bullet, kill the past with the characters, then do the real part of the game.
this is poetry
is the binding of Isaac good? I'm thinking of playing it
Not funny, but awful.
But is it as good as Knack
NSan it has been proven statistically impossible to be better than knack 2 😛
Where is the question mark
Silas Contaifer Where is your question mark?
Get outta here man~
As forgotten as my memory of the Knack joke.
it took me almost 60 hours to win this game and i loved every minute of it, highly recommended. so many funny guns in this thing. and there are secret levels that i have not yet defeated.
Good advice for people starting out is that it is not about progression through floors. The more you die, the more currency outside of the Gungeon you earn and the more weapons/items you can buy. Most things you have to purchase (or unlock) and once bought you probably won’t be able to go back to the standard set-up. Once I unlocked Gunther.. well primed Gungeoneers know the rest
for me, it was the black hole gun LOL
cellP8 in reality it was when I unlocked Gunslinger :-)
This game is criminally underrated. Dunkey's the only big TH-camr to talk about it.
*It really makes you feel like batman*

This game is FREE on the Epic Games store till August 27.

missed opportunity to call this vid Enter the Dungeon. You could kill the pun the game offers and replace it with a double joke. cmon now

No no, i meant Dungeon. Dunkgeon is 1 joke. Dungeon is 2 (because it goes back to the original word)

Naw that's lame. Also it's not really a double joke so mach as.. not really a joke at all haha
that isn't a double joke it's a double entendre.
Game is too hard, 0/10, GameSpot
Call of Duty's guns are much more realistic, 0/10- IGN
This is the video that got me to get gungeon and I love every second of it.
really sold me on the game
I just love how the game references _everything._ you’ve got metal gear references aplenty, doom references, terminator references, 2001 space odyssey references, THERE ARE SO MANY DAMN REFERENCES
pokemon
dead space
call of duty
gears of wars
too much LOL
I just hate the fact that there isn't an obvious Terraria reference with how great and famous that game is, and there's even a Hyper Light Drifter reference.
This reminds me of "Wizards of Legend" which has similar mechanics, except a bit less shooting but it still sends you back to the beginning. Definitely inspired by "Enter the Gungeon" and other rogue-like games.
Bootleg I just beat Wizard for the first time, that is a great game. I read somewhere that devs openly reported that they were inspired by enter the gungeon to make Wizard

"Thank you, Enter the Gungeon."
I'm super upset that I just learned about this channel. Content is fantastic, and none of the videos are 10 minutes and 1 second long. It's a breath of fresh air.

How many more Dark Souls games are they gonna make!?
RonJon they need to make infinite dark souls
Dark Souls Infinite* will be the last game
FOG MFD nooooooooooo not a last game
That's the rule! Anything with Infinite at the end gotta make up for all thetheorical future installments.
I really can’t recommend this game enough
how is this bait?
Dunkey is a great reviewer he talks about the bad stuff and ends off on a good notes by then talking about the good stuff
