    I think it is an ok card. I got it strictly for my apple hardware, gear, apps, and software purchases as it still has a decent cash-back plan. However, I have other credit cards for all other purchases. Also if you are conscientious and can manage having multiple cards and keep paying on time then having the extra credit can help your credit score in the long run.

      Can't agree with this enough! Yes there's opportunity cost of getting this card instead of another, but there's never a limit on the number of cards you have, as long as you can manage them well! Thanks for watching Conor!

    I got mine just to pay for T-Mobile, Uber, and Apple purchases. That way I get 3% on those, and I have a somewhat higher headroom on my utilization. Also it might come in handy if I decide to purchase more Apple products at some point, if I’m not working some kind of introductory offer on some other card at the time.
    Plus, because of some mistakes in the past, Chase and American Express are dead to me. Well actually I’m dead to them.

I would’ve handled it very differently if I knew then what I know now, but that’s how it went down, and both of them told me never to bother applying for credit with them again.

    My main complaint would be that this card offers absolutely horrendous customer service, specifically when it comes to disputes and their resolution. No purchase/return protection, no extended warranty, purchases are not backed up or insured in any way. I saw multiple cases among my friends when Goldman Sachs was trying to make them responsible for fraudulent transactions on their accounts (Apple Pay data was compromised). Also it took them almost 90 days to resolve a $17 dispute with doordash (order was never delivered), which is freaking ridiculous. I completely avoid this card for any kind of large and important purchases. The lack of security and service with this card only makes it good for buying a bottle of soda at a gas station once a year simply to keep the account active.

    • @KevinYang

    The problem I'm having with this card is their reporting to the CRAs. They went 6 months without an update to my credit report. I had to call them to get them to report my $0 balance. Now its looking like they are reporting everything I've charged over the course of the month as my balance even though I pay my balance every few days and its $0 well before the statement date closes. So I was super confused on what and how they reported. On statement inspection I see that what they reported was what I spent but also what I paid in full for that month well before statement closing. This card has actually become a liability. I've gone on forums to see if it was just me and are reading people having similar issues.

    Just use the card for food and or gas and then pay it off as soon as possible before the due date and keep your statements at zero and it’ll raise your credit score. That’s really the only reason to use this card.

    If you do not want to use Apple Products, then Apple Card is just an average card.

    Meh card, but no annual fee, so useful to build or rebuild credit.
    Increases your total credit limit, toss some small charge every month, and pay it off each time, just to stack up the on time payment history.
    Since I'm a channel member of a number of TH-cam channels, I've got the membership fees spread out across 6 crappy cards every month, and all of them set to auto pay the statement balance every month.

    Honestly, I don’t get why the Apple Card gets so much flack. It’s a good card. Specially if you use Apple Pay which most of the US does cause they have iPhones. You can pay your bills online with Apple Pay, you can dine and pay with Apple Pay, Uber with Apple pay, Uber eats, door dash and basically 85 percent of the stores in the USA or even internationally lol no foreign exchange fee or any fees at all for that matter. Also, it is great if you’re already under the Apple ecosystem cause you know you’re upgrading phones, watches, iPads every year or two. Also, If you have good credit history you will most likely get a very high credit limit and take advantage of their stupid installment plans at 0 percent interest and get your 3 percent upfront.

    The biggest con about the Apple Card is the installment on it. So I have a credit limit of $15,000 and if I cap out on it for installments. It actually does a ton of harm to your credit report because you’re holding onto a really large percentage of credit usage. The rule of thumb is to keep your credit utilization under 30% and although if you pay your installments on time, they will report it to the credit bureau as payed on time. But you are still holding a amount owed and it will still impact largely on your credit so it’s actually a garbage installment fraud. I also forgot to mention that when the Apple Card first released in 2019, installments and late payments was totally fine! But that was only because they didn’t report anything to the 3 major credit bureaus at the time. So I’m short it didn’t have an impact what so ever on your credit. But that all changed obviously.

    • @SmileyManPrince
      @SmileyManPrince 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jal7068 I’m sure it’s common sense if it’s written in bold letters. It’s the fact that they try to entice and rob young people who barely have a credit history early on. Just to say hey if you cap out on your $500-$1500 credit card for installment, you get a negative feedback. Installments are not meant to affect your credit in any way unless paid late. Not get negative feedback from creditors, especially when installments are being paid on time. That’s like saying you bought a new house or a car and you got a loan but hey your loan is too large. Even though you been making payments on time we as the lenders are going to give a negative feedback to credit bureau’s, that you are not utilizing less than 30% of your loan. Simply because you are capping out your income to loan ratio.

    Who can afford to buy the products all at once? People get credit because most do not have the money to pay all at once, so they used their credit, and make payment on it.
