    Hey, as a Canadian, how have you been able to get the American version of CC’s? I ask because my girlfriend is Canadian and we would like to start playing the referral-bonus-player-2 strategy. But so far all she can get is the Canadian version of these cards. Thanks.

      I'm Canadian, but have been living and working in the US for several years now, so applying for US cards wasn't an issue! Unfortunately if she's not in Canada, it's not straightforward, but I believe there are ways that I'm not familiar enough to comment on unfortunately. Hello, I enjoyed this video. Very informative but I have a question. I’ve had my venture one card for 6 months and just recently was approved yesterday for the (VENTURE) card . On my account I have the option to upgrade my venture one to the savor one. In your opinion would you keep the venture one in conjunction with the VENTURE card? Or would you upgrade the VENTURE ONE card to the SAVOR ONE card and pair that with my newly acquired VENTURE card?

    Great video! We're trying to understand if we should use our Chase Sapphire Reserve points or pay cash for an upcoming flight. Could you please help us with this scenario? For some reason, when we look up a flight we are trying to take through Air France, the price is much higher when trying to book it through the chase portal. $2,034 versus $1,694. Any idea why that would be? Regardless, could you help us understand a formula to decide whether it would be worth purchasing the flight with cash or using the points? Also, if by chance the prices were the same on the portal as they are on the air france website, what formula would we use in this case to decide which to use? I hope that makes sense. Thanks in advance for your help!

    I look at reasonable replacement value - i,e. what would I buy if I paid cash. If a business class ticket is 100k points, it doesn't matter if the sticker price is $10k because I would never pay $10k cash for it. If an economy flight is $500, I might pay $1k for business so it's 100k points for $1k worth of value. Also I don't limit myself to just the major US chains for hotels. If its 25k Hyatt points for a $500 night hotel, but an equally good local hotel is only $250, I'm only getting $250 value from 25k points.

    • @KevinYang
      @KevinYang 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Great way to think, and same here! It's also important to look at round trip prices divided by 2, instead of one-way given airlines jack up the prices for those... Also hotels outside of the US, especially in Asia could be so much cheaper for really good quality!

    That's a lot of travel coming up 😳im jealous. I don't switch out wallets when I travel but sometimes I add more cards like the Amex Platinum, Hilton Aspire, or Marriott Brilliant cards

    Hey I’m also a Canadian living in the US! You said with the nexus card you have TSA Precheck as well, does that come with nexus? Or does having a nexus card give me access to apply for TSAPC?

    • @KevinYang
      @KevinYang 13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Nexus gets you TSA Prececk AND Global Entry automatically! It's basically the best of all those programs, but with the downside that you need to wait longer for the interview, and more limited locations, given you're interviewing with both a US and Canadian officer.

      @@B1SQ1T You're right, I totally forgot the CSR covered NEXUS, since most of these cards haven't before! I got mine like 5-6 years ago and took 3 months? I know a few people recently who have waited anywhere from 6 months to like 1.5 years

    my main wallet cards: venture x for catch all, bilt for rent/restaurants, citi custom cash for groceries. if i spend over 500 bucks a month on groceries, i swap to savor one and synergize with my venture x. For gas, I use the costco citi (since I'm on a costco membership with my parents).

      Ah the Bilt Card, time and time again I feel like it's finally time to add it, but something nudges it down a notch! That sounds like a solid set up, the capital one duo is a combo. Do you have a next card in mind?

      @tommywei1154 13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@KevinYang Bilt is totally worth it, esp as a food card. I was using my CSP for restaurants for 3.1% CB, but Bilt points potentially have more value with the bonus transfer days and comparable transfer partners. As for my next card, it probably be a hotel card. Haven't decided what to get yet, but I'm doing my research going through your videos.

      @KevinYang 13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@tommywei1154 Yeah Bilt's partners are definitely good, and from their track record, I'd bet they'll have much more up their sleeves, especially with Rent day and massive transfer bonuses. Maybe during a few months where I know I won't have high spend or something. Do you travel a lot? The Hilton Aspire vs Marriott Brilliant could probably benefit!

    There is a lot to be said for a Citi setup with a few Custom Cash for your biggest expenses, the Double Cash for none of the above, and a Strata Premier to send your points to. It would take a few years to open and product change Rewards+ and the first Double Cash to the second and third Custom Cash, but if you can get a second Double Cash sub you would have a ton of Citi TY before any earnings

    I travel to Pakistan to see my relatives every every other year. Also, I like to choose my own hotels therefore, as much as I like the chase trifecta. I think I may just prefer the capital one probably because their Travel portal like you said it’s a bit better.
