Thank you so much for taking the time to watch! What kinds of games do you play with your dog (fetch, hide and seek, etc)?

Dr. Ian Dunbar DVM has a course called Sirius Training [Double pun intended] based on using play for training and for socialization. In addition, although I have found no formal studies, there is suggestion by some behavioral researchers that play can help as a substitute prey drive behaviors. I like Play to help train Bite Inhibition, Appropriate interactions, Come, and Impulse control, using Fetch, Chase, and Tug with well-defined rules, and ending the play session when the rules aren't followed. Later, I like to socialize my dogs with older, then smaller and younger dogs, so that they learn appropriate, non-fighting interactions ... while also learning to bark, snarl, and snark, as appropriate, without biting.
