I babysat this kid and he literally just told me he was tired and just went to bed. It took like 5 minutes and I was low key kind of scared.

Here’s another tip I came across: Make bedtime sound more appealing by encouraging them to put their toys to bed.
Do you have to meet the employer? Can’t you just talk on the phone and take notes?
It’s really best because you want to know if you connect with the kids. It helps to see if they immediately warm up to you or not. Before you meet with them, ask these questions safesitter.org/4-questions-ask-taking-babysitting-job/ and then, set up a time to meet with them. I used to stay up until about 1:00 am when I was a kid because of GAD, an anxiety disorder. I went to therapy, and I'm a lot better now, but I encountered the same problem with another young kid. The girl was about 8 years old, and was very anxious. After having her stay awake until I left for 3 nights, I knew something was wrong. I got the courage to tell her parents about the problem. She's been in therapy for about a year now, and she's getting a lot better!

The kids I babysit are in preschool and kindergarten, and at bedtime they take turns getting out of bed and running around the house! They are sweet angels during the day, but at night, they are evillll! Any advice?
Let them know that you are in charge when their parents are away and that it is time for sleeping, not playing. If they still won't follow the rules, call the parents and ask for advice.

When I was Little I am terrified of the dark after tropical storm Sandy I was also afraid of severe weather when my parents came back from Connecticut to Pulaski New York my parents told the babysitter don't forget we survive tropical storm Cindy and now she's afraid of severe weather and emergency alerts on television

I’m pretty good at making kids (At lease my brother and my cousins) fall asleep. BUT, this will help with other kids and also, I’m just doing my research, because next year I will be 11 and I will be old enough to go to the Red Cross Camp for babysitting, and I will be able to babysit! But, this is very helpful and I love your vids! 💕💕💕

Also make bedtime into a game take it from me I’m 10 if you make it into a race or a game then it’s fun also have a race to see who can fall asleep first if they have siblings or a stuffed animal ask the parents if you can give them a small prize in the morning such as a tiny chocolate piece also I’m 10 and when I’m tired if I just become not wanting to be hyper anymore not playing or doing art saying I don’t feel too well or just watching the iPad in bed for more then 2 hours without getting up too much just tell me to put the iPad down and try to sleep that’s basically how I know and how u can know if anyone here would babysit I’ll be asleep within 5 to 10mins

Hi! Do you have any tips if the kids ask you to sleep with them and keep getting up? If it was only one kid it would be okay, but it’s three at once.
You need to follow the child's bedtime routine. Explain to the child that it is time for sleeping, not playing. If the child is upset, comfort the child with a story or a song.

I’m Wondering I want to start babysitting what is a really stable age kids can start babysitting? That most parents trust kids
Most babysitters start in middle school, around the age of 12 or 13. Age isn't the biggest factor to start babysitting. You need to make sure that YOU are ready for the responsibility of babysitting. Take a babysitting safety course like Safe Sitter will really help you to know that you are ready!

To all the expert baby sitters. How do you convince your parents? I found a $20 online class, but my parents arent having it. They think i'm still too young to start babysitting(im 12 btw). And even though I wont be able to babysit until 2021 probably, I still want to be prepared! Any tips or things I should consider?

I babysit my twin cousins and sometimes, they WILL NOT stay in bed - a glass of water, a night light, can’t sleep, and more - what do I do?
You need to be firm with the child. Tell the child that it's time for sleeping, not playing. Be sure to tell the parents when they get home as well.

Amy Stice I would say age 13 is probably the youngest, as most parents wouldn't hire any younger, even if they would hire you i'd still recommend waiting a bit, but its up to you and your parents

What if they drink poison
Poison is serious (and I have a video coming out all about poisoning in season 3 to be released in March!). Call 9-1-1 if the child takes anything that might be poison and immediately gags, vomits, becomes sleepy, has trouble breathing, has convulsions, or loss of consciousness. If the child takes anything that might be poison but has no immediate symptoms, call a back-up adult to come and help you. While the adult is on the way, call the Poison Center at 800-222-1222 and have the poison container available. Poison Center will tell you whether or not there is a problem, and what to do.
