    Thank you so much for these tips!!! I have two brothers that are 9-6 years of age, and 50% of the time they have trouble listening to me when I am babysitting them. Sometimes, the way I handle problems in situations don't work, probably because I'm not doing them right! When I saw this video, a light bulb came to me, and I began to realize that these tips are a lot better! ❤😊

      I totally get it. When I watch my younger cousins, sometimes it feels like a nightmare. But, then I remember they are still learning about how to interact with the world and what boundaries they can and can't push.
      So, I take a deep breath, remember that I need to set an example, and remain calm but firm. Sometimes a distraction like a game or coloring works great to refocus! And sometimes everyone just needs a few minutes to reset, and then you come back and try again.
      You are doing great Babysitter Boss. Keep up the good work!

      what kind of a parent hires a babysitter for a 15 year old?

    • @nikkib473
      @nikkib473 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Maybe a parent that feels reassured having their teen watched over. Maybe the teen is likely to cause trouble when alone..or to feel safe. Even if the teen is a well behaved minor..parents still worry sometimes. Nothing wrong with that imo. @underfan47

    Could you do how to prevent choking?

    • @BabysitterBoss
      @BabysitterBoss  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You need to constantly watch the child and watch for danger. Don't give kids foods that can make them choke or play with them while they are eating. Also, don't let them play with anything that is small and could cause choking if the child put it in their mouth.

  • @ruffruffmeow
    @ruffruffmeow ปีที่แล้ว

    Okay im babysitting kids that just do not respond like I don’t exist. But it’s not when I tell them what to do just in regular conversation like “hi how was your day?” No response for like a minute then I said “did you hear me?” And they said “yeah.” should i acknowledge this? Or just let them choose to not speak to me as long as they are doing what they are supposed to do? It just seems really disrespectful but it’s not my job for them to me

    It's so hard to babysit two kids with completely different interests. One wanted to go inside to change because her dress was uncomftorable outside, the other wouldn't stand to go inside, even though I told him it was only for a few moments. I did everything to try to convince him to come inside, but he wouldn't stand for it. What was I going to do, physically drag him inside?

    I babysit my little nephew who is one years old. He's good half the time. I mean, I can't blame him he's 1 he is really smart and knows where the food is and I need to know how to get him to listen to me when I tell him no snacks right now or we can't go outside plz help me

    • @BabysitterBoss
      @BabysitterBoss  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Always be firm and direct - tell him exactly what you need him to do or not do. Try giving him acceptable choices while still insisting on what needs to be done. Say something like, "We can't go outside right now, do you want to play a board game or play with the ball?" He wants to be able to make the decision, so give him two decisions that will work and let him feel like he's still in control of the situation. Good luck!

    • @BabysitterBoss
      @BabysitterBoss  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly, you may want to turn down that job. Kids without rules can make your job a lot harder than it needs to be and that doesn't sound like a safe babysitting job.

    • @BabysitterBoss
      @BabysitterBoss  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you're comfortable helping a child that is potty training, accept the job. If you feel like it is too much responsibility, explain to the parent that you really want to babysit for them but you don't feel like you can babysit a child that is potty training. Ask them to ask you again later after the child is trained.
