    I wracked my brain trying to decide among all these options, balancing price, watts, noise, and performance. I finally settled on the SER5 with the 5700U APU. Pretty much in the middle for all categories in this price range. The 5800H was tempting, but the power and noise turned me away. The 5560U was also tempting in the other direction, but the performance ding was weighing me down, and what really tipped me over was I managed to get a 32GB RAM model for the 5700U for a good price.
    Your reviews were very helpful. One thing I would suggest is showing more games at 720P and lowest settings for these budget APUs. If I really cared about gaming that much I'd buy a dedicated graphics card, but I do like to game occasionally, and I find it quite acceptable to lower resolution and still have a good time. I even managed to play Cyberpunk 2077 on my 2019 Athlon 200GE.

    Is it advisable to use thermal pads or paste on the CPU of this Beelink SER5 MAX for improved performance, or is that considered unwise?

    Are these tests all with the out the box igpu or did you upgrade it first before testing the games? And will it run emulator games more smoothly? Can I stream on OBS and play emulator games? for the 5800H
    Also how will it be for music production if I have to use a lot of plugins? Thank you!

    Hi there, i just discovered your channel, and you seems like the guy who is very knowledgeable about mini pc's.

      Get a TRIGKEY Speed s5 with the 5800H. You get single core and multi core performance that is almost identical to a 7735HS, but you don’t end up playing the 150 dollar premium for the better iGPU since you won’t need it. You don’t need all 8 cores for what you’re doing but the higher clock speed of the 5800H will make it more useful for your tasks than say the 5700U or 5500U. The 5800H is the TRIGKEY is currently the best bank for buck.

    Which mini pc, would you recommend for home lab / home server? where i will be running Proxmox?

    • @EVOTech1
      @EVOTech1  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      so it depends specifically on what you are going to be doing in the homelab. for example, if you're going to be doing self hosting for services like nextcloud or plex, you don't really need all that much in terms of CPU performance. the SER5 will handle all that without an issue and will be dead silent doing it. If you see yourself running multiple windows VMs that will stay consistently on and in use, then 5800H in the SER5 MAX will be far more useful. in general though, most things people are doing in a homelab can run on a 4 core Celeron. So I would usually recommend the SER5, especially if you are starting off. you will more than likely not outgrow it in a good while, and when you finally do, you now have a 6c/12t up to 64GB and up to 16TB Proxmox Node.

      what resolution and video format are we talking here? 1080p editing and exporting will run like a dream on this and even 4K exporting would be fine. 4k editing on a timeline is gonna be kind of annoying unless you're working with something like ProRes or a similar format that is low compression.

    I agree, Beelink wasn't a 'good' deal when I've looked for a Mini PC, not below 270 Euro (incl. VAT) for a 5560U 16GB/500GB. The 5800H cheapest 350 Euro here. But I could not resist the 210 Euro Trigkey 5560U. From what I've read and watched the Ser5 shoudl be a bit better, cooler but the Trigkey is already quite good! So much different compared to N6000 or 5000er and the 16GB RAM is so much better. My N6000 is not usable anymore with it's 4GB in that case not upgradable RAM.

    I bought the Series 5 Max for $309 on amazon 2 months ago however Im only seeing this video now. I thought let my buy a bit more than i need so its a bit future proof. Its only going to be an emulation box, I would like to emulate up to PS2 and DOS games. Just a pitty the Series 5 Max has a very bland case, the Series 5 Pro has a much nicer looking case.

    Beelink has the most dreadful so called tech support team. If you have a post purchase trouble - like first the fan goes 79dB then rattles and eventually dies... - you are by yourself. The tech support team is evading, avoiding, promising but does absolutely jacksh.t! Less than a month old Ser5 Ryzen 7 machine is a doorstop...
